Moscelyne Larkin

Moscelyne Larkin was born in 1925 in Miami, Oklahoma. Larkin showed great talent as a dancer early on in life, and joined the original Ballet Russe at fifteen years old. She performed a wide range of roles and came to be known as a "walking encyclopedia of dance". In 1956, Larkin and her husband, Roman Jasinski, co-founded the Tulsa Ballet, which still exists today. In 1979, she was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, and in 1988, she and Jasknski won the Dance Magazine Award. Larkin was named an Outstanding Indian by the Council of American Indians, and worked with the Tulsa Indian Council to teach dance to native children.

Moscelyne Larkin died in 2012 at the age of 87.
