Weird confession time: My wife and I called Charlie McAvoy ‘Tuna’ because I was unaware of any ‘official’ nickname. And it’s stuck. I was just scrolling my dash, commented on a pic of Pasta, and Lynne looks over and goes, “Is that Tuna next to him?” I find this funny as hell.

like genuinely holy fuck your drawing has infiltrated my mind im being so serious zero exaggeration. i genuinely love it

the way his muscles are so defined and shaded incredibly well and how it's done in a way to draw your eyes in (and the sweat and veins and hair omg make it so exquisite), to the curve of his nose and his prominent nose bridge, and the way his cheekbones frame his face but don't take away from the softness (the contrast between his eyes and his jaw 😭), and how he's pudgy with a happy trail, like you can totally feel the strength under it (because that's canon?) (and are those stretch marks too????) (even him not having prominent collar bones got me all)

and the curve of the leg and the lil tummy just peeking in the corner is such a nice detail, and i aint even a feet person (i think? not sure what qualifies 💀) but god it's drawn so nicely????

like it's drawn so delicately while emphasising the body in a way that makes it look like it's taken directly from irl

like, how did you do it—do you draw directly from your mind? how long have you been doing it?? because god damn is it more than good,, and do you have any tips to improve (or like pens/apps that are preferred)?? and how tf do you finish a drawing (this is a me problem)

he was a fun draw mainly bc i draw a lot of women (and feminine looking men *cough* tamsy), so trying to hit all those traits of unadulterated masculinity was something i kept at the back of my mind. him having a pudge was also a great way for keeping that balance of masculinity and softness (bc bro is a very soft guy with a soft heart 🥹). and im so surprised u caught the stretch marks?! i honestly thought no one would notice bc of how faint they r, but clearly not faint enough lmaoo

the feet of the lucky contestant (lol) under bro was drawn with their pleasure in mind bc i know santa would grind into you just right, so the toes had to be spread!! i didn’t put too much time into it tho compared to the other stuff

and i guess some advice from me would be to use references!!!! they r so important, ur most talented artists use references. i have some boards on pinterest dedicated to ref poses so make sure u utilize them (u can see the one i used for bro teehee). i feel like drawing spontaneously with no ref is a SKILL omg. i can do it, but more likely than not, its gonna look a bit off 😭 but thats part of the process!

another thing is anatomy. now im not saying to learn every single body part and scientific term, but understanding the limitations of the human (or whatever species) body is so important and narrows things down by a lot.

a lil about me, i picked up on drawing as a kid and it felt more like a hobby until high school peeked through, and from there i wanted to take it more seriously to the point where im currently in art school. sooo ive been drawing for a long time lmaoo.

i use a drawing tablet for my works (huion 13, me thinks?) and so far, i like how it operates. it runs smoothly too. and the program i used was krita bc its free and im broke lol. once i return to work, i wanna get clip studio paint.

and i barely finish my drawings 😭 i have so many wips that have not seen the light of day. that bro drawing i did was ez because it was just a sketch and i believe there’s not much to commit to when sketching. fully rendered art is what i have trouble with lmaoo. i guess what helps me finish a piece is how passionate i am about it, those r the moments when its ez to finish (this sukuna art i rendered was something i was crazy over bc i love that man).

but if its art i have to complete, then i just have to force myself to finish it, and its less enjoyable that way 🤕
