HEY @john_prine fans! How about THIS incredible portrait of the @ohboyrecords #TuneGenius! Here’s the artist’s story: @nilsrva: I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and photgraphing the American song-writing legend John Prine in November. The plan was to paint a mural of him in his hometown of Chicago this spring. This week really. Obviously with the rise of Cov19 those plans were frozen. Then on Tuesday John Prine died as a result of Cov19. I heard his music in bits and pieces growing up, but a few years ago I found a passion for it at a particularly transformative stage in my life. For the first time I picked up the guitar, and started trying to pick "Illegal Smile," now a year on I can do several more. I feel very priveleged and thankful to have had this opportunity. And am saddened by the loss of him. In lieu of the mural I have done these stencils, but the mural will happen as soon as possible, I am only sad he will never see it. Sending my deepest condolonces to @fprine. I encourage everyone to listen to some John Prine tonight.
