Her debut album that came out in 2015 is perfect . She can sing in multiple languages. Both The NME and The Guardian rated this as a top ten best album of the year in 2016. It was a huge hit in Europe and Australia and did quite well in The US - she has made only better records since this amazing debut - as I featured her EP #lavitanuova as my favorite album of 2020. She easily could be the next Bowie as her talent is clearly untapped and is growing with each release. Complex Best So Far Challenge……………#36 Complex magazine came out with their “Best So Far of 2016″ List. I always find these lists interesting. As I scroll thru I see some albums I have actually heard, some albums I was like shit! I didn’t know that dropped. I also see some albums and artist I never heard of. Soooooo….I decided I’m gonna listen to ALL 40. I am gonna give y'all my thoughts on them as well. Here we go!!! I pretty much slept through this whole album. Nothing caught my attention. No line or bar had me lift my head from the computer or check what the title of the song I was hearing. In my listening sessions I have heard songs from other artist that actually had me look and see what the title of a song was. That is a big factor in my music listening. That “Whoa what’s this song called’ or “shit, Imma put this on the playlist so I can hear it again” moments. I read that he produced all the joints on his 7 song EP. Man I was glad that it was only an EP. Production wasn’t what I like. He tried to sing a few times. Nah. Not feeling that shit at all!!!! He was higher on Complex’s “Best So Far” ahead of one album I thought was amazing (Jerreau..Never How you Plan”) It wasn’t better than Zayne’s album. I’d rather listen to the kid from One Direction than this. I guess I am a tough critic when it comes to my Hip Hop. I wont go as far as saying it sucks but........It’s not good.
