He stumbled inside, falling to his knees in front of Axl, prompting Axl to kneel down in front of him.

He looked terrible. As if he hadn’t slept in days.

‘‘Shit, are you okay?’‘

Carter’s voice came out raspy and out of breath, as if he ran here. ‘’My dad.. he, he left. I don’t.. and oh god my mom she. What are we going to do.’’

Axl grabbed his arm, keeping Carter steady so he wouldn’t fall over as he stuttered out the next words.

‘‘He left.. he took a space ship and left. I thought it was for a research, to figure out what we are, where we are from. But he’s gone. He’s not coming back and..’‘ He buried his head into his hand.

‘‘Woah hey slow down.. what happened? Space ship I.. I don’t understand?’‘

Carter wouldn’t look up at him as he stumbled out his next few words ‘’Axl oh god don’t hate me... I.. I’m only half human.. my dad he.. I’m half alien.’’
