[full text: "Um, why is there a plunger in your vet clinic?" Wildlife medicine is still an evolving field, which means our team is often required to think outside the box and sometimes... it gets weird.

With limited tools and lots of unpredictable patients, improvising is just part of the job. A simple plunger works wonders to safely secure a snapping turtle, keeping that forceful bite at bay in order to perform an exam or administer treatment. It's safe, effective, and gives our team the control we need. For this snapper, it meant we could treat its injuries quickly and stress-free, providing the care it needed to heal and return to the wild.]
