Leyla's life didn't have much room for flexibility or decision-making. She was the only child born to a wealthy couple whose business partners also had an only child, and it was clear from the start that their plan was for the kids to inherit the family business someday. It didn't help that Hamit and Leyla were constantly pushed toward one another over their teenage years, either, because the idea of them someday getting married also didn't feel like one they had much say in. Leyla didn't mind it all so much, really, at least not until they had both graduated and started working in the company. It was clear to Leyla that Hamit's true love was his job, and she was merely a box that he felt the need to check.
After waiting seven years for him to propose to her, Leyla realized it wasn't going to happen. Hamit didn't know how to truly love someone, and he was constantly reaching for the next business venture, the next acquisition, the next successful deal. Leyla ended things with Hamit and, despite her own broken heart over it all, tried her best to move on. There was no shortage of eligible bachelors looking to marry a woman with such powerful business connections, but Leyla's heart was harder to secure. Finally, Leyla found herself engaged to Sedat, a man who knew the weight of carrying a family's expectations on his shoulders. The night of their engagement party, Hamit introduced them to his new partner to whom he'd just gotten engaged.
It was clear to Leyla that the engagement was nothing more than a ploy to win her back, and that made her even more confused than ever. After all, if Hamit truly loved her this much, why wouldn't he have proposed sooner? Sedat, on the other hand, seemed to be more jealous of her ex-partner than ever, and it became a real point of contention in their relationship. She wasn't able to avoid Hamit, not when she managed public relations for their company, and no amount of reassurance seemed enough for Sedat. Additionally, Hamit seemed to be more charming and romantic than ever, and the idea that nearly losing her had shown him her worth made Leyla even more certain they could never really work together without tension and jealousy.
When Sedat demanded they move the wedding up, Leyla finally understood what the rest of her life would look like. No matter who she chose, neither man would ever truly love her for who she was, and she was destined for a life of double-dealing and unfulfilled promises. Instead of supporting her, Leyla's parents pushed her to return to Hamit or marry Sedat immediately, and Leyla got sick of it all. She would no longer live this life. Selling her shares in the company to Hamit, Leyla took off to the one place she never imagined she'd call "home": South Carolina. Her cousins had lived there for years now, and the expat Demircis even had a bar of their own that they ran. Leyla decided she could be a bartender while she debated her next move, knowing that her experience in public relations would help her secure a job whenever she was ready to start over for good.
CIS-FEMALE, SHE/HER. Hey, is that HOLLAND RODEN, no that is just SOREN FOXGLOVE around Turtle Bay. I heard they are THIRTY-NINE years old, and their birthday is OCTOBER 7, 1986. They rest their heads in the WOODLANDS but they can mainly be found working as WAITRESS AT THE FAIRYLITE CAFE in the WOODLANDS. Some say they are LOYAL, DETERMINED, FAIR and can be ARGUMENTATIVE, STUBBORN, SKITTISH . I hear they are NATIVE, either way Turtle Bay is home and welcomes you!
Growing up, Soren Foxglove learned early that home was not always a safe place. Born into a household filled with constant arguments and fear, she spent much of her childhood trying to stay out of the way of her father’s anger. His abuse toward both Soren and her mother left lasting scars, making their home feel tense and unpredictable. Because of that, Soren found comfort anywhere she could escape into the outdoors. Nature became her sanctuary long before she truly understood why. Whether it was wandering through parks, sitting beneath trees, or simply feeling fresh air against her skin, being outside brought her a peace she could never find within the walls of her house.
When Soren was fourteen, her mother finally found the strength to leave the abusive situation behind. It was not an easy adjustment, but for the first time in years, Soren was able to breathe without constantly waiting for the next outburst. Even after escaping, though, the fear lingered. Loud voices, sudden anger, or tension between people could still make her freeze or become skittish, instincts carved deeply into her from years of surviving in fear.
Three years later, when Soren was seventeen, her mother remarried a kind and patient man who slowly helped rebuild the sense of stability their family had been missing for so long. Though Soren appreciated him greatly and was genuinely happy to see her mother loved properly, trust did not come easily to her. Parts of her still expected kindness to disappear without warning. Over time, however, she learned that not every raised voice led to pain and not every person carried cruelty in their heart.
Despite the difficulties of her upbringing, Soren excelled in school. She threw herself into her studies, often finding the same comfort in books and science that she found outdoors. Her hard work earned her mostly A’s throughout school, and after graduation she attended college, where her passion for plants and the natural world only deepened. During those years, her family also welcomed a baby boy into their lives — her younger brother, born when Soren was already an adult. Though there was a noticeable age gap between them, Soren adored him fiercely and loved being able to give him the kind of gentleness and protection she often wished she had growing up.
After college, Soren became a botany teacher at the local high school. Teaching allowed her to share her love for plants and nature with others, and many students admired her quiet intelligence and calm demeanor. Though she was knowledgeable and dedicated, there was always a softer, more withdrawn side to her that appeared whenever conflict arose. She never entirely outgrew the survival instincts shaped during childhood.
Recently, however, Soren decided to leave teaching behind in favor of a simpler, quieter life. She now works as a waitress at the Fairylite Cafe, a cozy place that allows her to stay close to the outdoors and the peaceful atmosphere she treasures so deeply. The cafe’s warm environment suits her far better than crowded classrooms ever did, and the people there have become something of a second family.
Constantly at her side is her beloved five-year-old Pitbull, Space Ranger. Loyal to a fault, Space Ranger follows Soren nearly everywhere she goes, acting as both companion and emotional anchor. On occasion, he is even allowed to accompany her to work at the cafe, where staff and customers alike adore him. His affectionate presence has become a source of comfort for Soren, grounding her during moments when anxiety or old fears begin to resurface.
Though the wounds of her childhood never fully disappeared, Soren Foxglove has built a life rooted in gentleness, healing, and quiet resilience. Beneath her cautious nature is someone deeply caring, intelligent, and compassionate — a woman who survived darkness by clinging tightly to every small piece of light she could find.

children: twin daughters; age 25 years old, named Star and Lyra Evans.
resides in: uptown.
status: native
Biography:
Alyza Evans grew up in the heart of Turtle Bay as the second of several siblings in one of its founding families. With parents, Patricia and Ronald Evans, often occupied with the demands of work and community responsibilities, much of the household fell under the care of her eldest sister, Danielle. Danielle became a steady, guiding force for the younger children, and Alyza, in turn, stepped into that same role as she grew older—helping raise her siblings, managing responsibilities, and learning early what it meant to balance care with discipline.
That sense of responsibility carried into her academic life. Alyza was a focused and determined student, consistently striving for excellence and earning top grades throughout her schooling. Still, she wasn’t all structure and routine—she had a creative side that found its outlet in an unexpected place: ice cream. What began as a simple love for sweet treats turned into a genuine passion. She spent her free time imagining and experimenting with unique flavor combinations, quietly laying the groundwork for something much bigger.
By the time she reached high school, Alyza had become known for both her intelligence and her ambition. Graduating with honors, she set her sights on the University of Turtle Bay, where she pursued a degree in business. Her goal was clear from the beginning—to own the beloved ice cream shop downtown and turn it into something uniquely hers.
Alyza achieved exactly that. As the owner of her own ice cream shop, she found the perfect balance between creativity and control. Her natural confidence and strong organizational skills made her a capable businesswoman, while her passion for flavor innovation kept her shop fresh and exciting. She took pride not only in the quality of her work but in understanding what people loved, constantly refining her menu to reflect both her vision and her customers’ tastes.
In her personal life, Alyza experienced both deep joy and difficult challenges. After years of trying to conceive, she turned to IVF following medical advice. The journey was not easy, but it led to the birth of her twin daughters, Star and Lyra—an outcome that brought immense happiness to both Alyza and her husband, her partner since high school. Becoming a mother was one of the most meaningful chapters of her life, and she poured the same dedication into raising her daughters as she did into everything else she cared about.
However, her marriage did not endure. After discovering repeated infidelity, Alyza made the difficult but firm decision to divorce when her daughters were twenty. Though the separation was rooted in betrayal, she approached it with the same level-headedness she brought to other aspects of her life. She and her ex-husband now maintain neutral terms, coming together only when their daughters wish for full family gatherings during certain holidays.
Despite the end of her marriage, Alyza maintained strong relationships with his parents, as well as with her own siblings, reinforcing her belief in preserving meaningful connections where possible.
Today, Alyza Evans stands as a woman shaped by resilience, responsibility, and quiet ambition. Whether managing her business, nurturing her family, or creating the next unique ice cream flavor, she approaches life with confidence, control, and a deep understanding of what truly matters.
