I know the stereotypical 5 stages of grief are Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance but to me it feels more like

1) Denial + Bargaining, repeat this step ad nauseum

2) Sprinkle in Depression and repeat steps 1 and 2 ad nauseum with Panic Attacks for added rizz

3) Acceptance (brief)

4) Period of time

5) Repeat steps 2 through 4 to infinity and beyond

At the very least, step 4 keeps getting longer. But finally I'm onto step 6:

I know that... to be poetic about it, it's best to treat the person like they're dead. They're dead to me anyways. But also, the person they used to be is likely dead too. No matter how it appears from the outside.

People change for better or for worse. Even if they changed for the worse, they're not quite the same as they had been.

Hey so I know people can be Pretty Awful, especially as kids/teens. But people really out here doxxing kids for shit? Under the false pretense of defending a (usually minority) people group?

Stop callout posts and start putting in work. Bring evidence to authorities, not social media. Tell the adults in charge over the schools/towns that are responsible for where these people are. Getting a large portion of the internet angry at some shitty kids is not the answer. Make them learn and fix themselves. Make them learn why what they did is bad. Not with scare tactics and death threats, not with threatening their entire livelihoods.

Not a single adult is the same as they were in middle/high school. Not a single one. These people can become better than themselves. But you trying for clout for calling out someone's bad behavior does nothing, unless they're an unstoppable public menace. Most people aren't.

If the authorities refuse to fix a situation after being notified, then point that out. But for fuck's sake don't doxx children.

I don't wanna hafta scroll through that to determine if my followers are bots or people. I think I already took care of the bots and worst offenders that might have been human? I do this regularly.

As long as you don't post p**n you're fine. If you have a side blog, I don't care, I won't see it. But if I see unspeakable things clogging your page when I go to check out if the person liking my stuff is someone I might want to follow back, or to block bots, I do NOT want to see that.

I check every person who likes my content to make sure I'm not enabling p**n bots to persist on the site. I will never be the cause a p**n bot gets verified on google, and I intend to keep it that way.

sitting next to some ppl at lunch

They're bashing gender nonconforming folk and saying stuff like "if Trump wanted to say he identified, just one day, as a girl, then we would have the first female president." And now they're saying something about Captain Marvel and the casting and something about "you know 60% of [indiscernible] are white males right" etc. Not sure what to think. Mostly upset that they scornfully mentioned something about gnc ppl and claiming to be anything just makes you that way in today's culture. They apparently don't realize the literal biological nuances that dictate expressed gender in people who literally physically don't perfectly adhere to gender stereotypes, including people born with ambiguous gender. Something about bathrooms mentioned. Now they're talking about "what actually is racist?"

Y'all sometimes being in a predominantly white Christian school really rustles my jimmies in unfun ways.

HOLY SHIT now they're saying that Mexicans who come into a country need to learn the language of the land. JUST SO YOU KNOW (as you likely already do) America does not have an official language. Talking about different professions like doctors and inconveniences. Imo if anything it's a blessing if someone who doesn't speak english has a doc who speaks the same language, to feel more at ease and be able to convey what they mean more.

Glad I'm leaving for class. Sometimes people astound me.

Let’s talk about gender equality.

I’ve seen so, SO many posts on this blue hellsite that demean men.

Still here? Then you’re probably not a self-victimizer, or at least you recognize this as a real problem. Or maybe you are a self-victimizer waiting to pounce on this post in hopes of inciting drama or shunning comments and users behind this idea off the website. Here we go:

I understand posts with the point to “make the girl feel special and important” but why throw an entire group of people under a bus for their gender? Don’t come at me with “but guys think girls are stupid so it’s okay for us to point out that guys are the real stupid ones-”

No. By all means, tell girls they’re worth something. But this message is also telling guys they are nothing. Maybe you have been told by some men before that you “aren’t as good as [men]” or “should aspire to be like [men]” but? They’re wrong? That’s it, they’re wrong. There’s no big take-away. They’re stupid, dismiss it and be done. But don’t bend down to the level of those idiots you disagree with and say that “all men are stupid” or “men should go die” just because there exist awful people. Fun fact, awful people have always and will always exist. Even so, it’s hard to advocate change when you’re not setting a good example.

I know the “not all men” thing is not the way to go for this argument. I KNOW a lot of guys are awful. But a lot of girls are awful too.

The original context of “uplifting” gif’d posts were likely targeted for some specific character’s intelligence or capabilities, but by and large the majority of people who see that are just going to reblog because “yep haha girls are SO much better than men! F@CK men!”

Often there are posts where some woman had an awful time with some stomach-turning penis-wielder who forced them to do or experience awful things, and these bloggers will often demonize all men as evil and shameful. I’m not going to undervalue their experiences, and I’ve no claim to say I understand the pain or horror they’ve been through. Neither will I dismiss any assault or awful things that have happened.

The mass dehumanization of men is ignorant and degrading.

I’ve come across men who feel like they are less than human for the way people trash talk (often white) men on this site. There is soooo much positivity for queer POC and women too. Go for it! Everyone needs positivity! Especially those who don’t hear it much from other sources.

So why are you saying all men need to die or to f@ck off? Consider too that trans men are men, not just “ex-women.“

There are no easily accessible support groups for young boys out there, to my knowledge. I’m not talking about Boy Scouts, I’m talking about a positive online presence where people can feel accepted for who they are, and not shamed into thinking less of themselves based on what they were born as or perceive themselves to be.

Isn’t that what most tumblr users champion?

If I were to ask almost any user on here about something nice they experience on tumblr, it’s the community within groups they’re gotten involved in, specifically for things they identify with or consider a core part of themselves. Even though communities (often rallied by individuals) can and will screech hate and shame people off the internet often without much discernible reason beyond starting sh!t to tear down those who have made a home for themselves here. Thankfully, in my own circles, I don’t see much of this. I try to avoid it as much as I can. Yet I have a close friend who has blacklisted everything from tumblr possible to avoid being triggered from the hate and shame they feel for existing in a world of spite aimed at people like them. It’s not everyone on this site, by any means. I doubt it’s even a majority. But until we realize that propagating hatred by reblogging/posting content that puts people groups under another’s boot is another form of abuse, people of all types will continue to be disparaged.

Please, PLEASE stop marginalizing entire groups of people just because you may have had a bad experience with a few who share physiological traits. Call out individuals, don’t shame people groups. This isn’t just about men; this message has been propagated in different capacities all throughout the internet.

Don’t hate someone you haven’t met based on bias. That’s racist, sexist, and self-harming.

I'm still sad I couldn't go to @markiplier live show here in Indy ;-; it was so close yet so far from my reach. I had the money but of course parents thought it would be a waste. They don't know now much of an source of joy he is ;-; almost that friend that brings a smile to my face when I feel horrible I hope you come back so I can see a show! ;-; I really wanna meet ya since the first time I was so shy to say hello when u came to the pop con....
