i havent watched it yet cuz im scared of nickelodeon hurting me again
I know, I completely understand. Nickelodeon has done us dirty. But as far as I knew, David Cage Ciro Nieli would not touch this series, so I was already a tiny bit optimistic going into the first episode.
I’m not usually one to say this, but watching the first episode made me feel like a kid again. I was having a giggle fit. Me, a twenty-three-year-old woman who holds the 2003 show and the IDW comics in the highest regard, was having a great time watching this cartoon. It reminded me a whole lot of Ed, Edd, n Eddy. The pacing and animation are quick, the dialogue is funny and sticks the landing, and the characters are enjoyable to watch. I know Ed, Edd, n Eddy isn’t for everyone and a completely different animal, but that was the first thing that popped into my head after watching the first episode.
Your fears are totally justified, but I’d still watch the first one to get a feel for it. There is a ton of stuff to love, but I can also understand the people who felt the show was grating. I’d recommend giving it a try, as you have to be your own judge. Just like Ed, Edd, n Eddy, people who enjoy it and people who don’t are both valid here because it is so different and there is so much to talk about. I’ll write something more in-depth later today or tomorrow; probably after I’ve finished the other four episodes.
