Hi!! Oh my gosh thank you for saying so! I hope I don't disappoint anyone by saying that it's actually not a very easy process. I wish there was a magical way to do it, honestly.

I have Adobe Photoshop. In order to take out the background with absolute perfection, I use the Polygonal Lasso tool to very carefully cut around the edges of the foreground on every single individual layer. It's a LOT of careful work that, for the Taichi gif specifically, took a few hours because I had to cut around Taichi in 15 separate layers. Once I had the transparent background on every layer in the timeline, I created a background layer on the bottom with a gradient. Here are some screenshots!

I don't know if any of this helps? I will happily help anyone who is up for the task of doing this if you happen to have Photoshop.... and also if anyone has a better or more efficient way of knocking out the background absolutely, please let me know!! This is really the only way I know how to do it so precisely.

This is one of the first request I’ve gotten in quite a long time and usually I just send a link to other tutorials, as I find difficulty in articulating anything, but I’ll give it a shot.

Above, is a photo I took today, and beside it is the edited version using the same style as the coloring of my picspams, and I’ll go through the motions of how to get there ( through screencaps ).

Step One Settings:

0; 1.19; 255

Step Two Settings:

All under the blue tab:

Greens: 60  Blues: 30

Step Three Settings:

Blacks: 30

Step Eight Settings:

Brightness: 37  Contrast: -34

Step Nine Settings:

Reds: -101 Yellows: - 45

Opaciity: 25%

Anyway, here’s the coloring on other photos I’ve taken, they’re mostly outtakes of photos, just displayed to show how the coloring works:

This coloring will not white wash, rather, the biggest worry is that someone will be given too much of a red tint, but this depends on the lighting of the photo before editing.

okay so first, you go to pirate-bay or buy the movie or download video clips from the movie!  after your download, you launch the movie with KM player. it's free & you can download it here ! when you launch your video, you click the third icon on the left ( it looks like a gear ) & there should be a small menu that pops up, with 6 tabs on the top. click the 5th tab & there should be the buttons " video, frame, & audio ". once that's there, you play the video & click ' frame '. it shows settings on how many screen caps it can capture in a second & you can modify the size of the screen caps etc etc.  next, you use gimp to crop & resize the screencap. gimp is pretty hard to use, so when i'm lazy, i go use this website. it's easy to figure out once you're used to it. for that website, you firstly upload the screen cap, then crop it, then go click the 'resize (pixels)' button. change the width & height to '100x100'. and your icon is born !
