June 1st: Ava Sharp

Ava Sharp is the lesbian. She is smart, she is strong af. she is brave. she is a clone. she is married to a half alien half human clone who was resurrected. 

throughout Legends of tomorrow she has several moments solidifying her as a character outside of her queerness. when we first meet her she is the most type a a character can be, and while she remains that way she gets fantastic character growth. her story does not always revolve around her relationship with her wife but when it does she kicks ass.

she is a multidimensional woman who deals with various events both positively and negatively but always has her version of the right thing in mind. i think they do a fantastic job at making her more than just a token queer character and fleshing out her character outside of that. her experience is so wild that it is hard to say she has lived the lesbian experience, but she does move into a one bathroom home with 6 or more roommates. this show has several queer characters in it but Ava doesn’t come in until season 3 and doesn’t because a principal cast member until after that.
