There’s something really wild about a piece of media like TOH where you wish that the characters could go back to being happy but ultimately they’ve been changed for the better, and sometimes you have to face things that you’re struggling with rather than try to go through life and pretend you’re okay with your situation. And sometimes going through that realization and push away from who you were is extremely traumatic especially when you have to face the fact that you were being abused or facing the fact that you’re not over the loss and grief that you endured, and facing that living in a society as a disabled person can fucking suck and that’s not your fault but we all react to society in different ways and sometimes that causes harm to the people we love.
Ultimately you have to face certain things in order to move forward, you have to recognize why you’re acting in a certain way and what you’re responding to. And if you don’t, you can get trapped in a constant state of pretending you’re fine and conforming so hard to expectations and ideals set for you that it warps into something fucking awful. But recognizing your grief and recognizing the truth about who you are and what you want ultimately helps you be a better, happier person and in the end, I think Luz is gonna be okay.
