I do feel like cdream’s animosity towards lmanburg should have something to do with Tommy’s genus loci biz because to me the reason Dream reacted like that was because the server is His and Supposed To Be What Dream Wants It To Be and Lmanburg Stole It From Him and He’s The Admin and that’s why doing revival torture experiments is justifiable. So maybe it’s like. To Dream Tommy is physically taking “his” land from him and the only way to rectify this is to make Tommy his as much as he thinks the server is ie obedient and doesn’t do anything outside of his purview

Yeah! The act of sectioning off a part of "his" land, especially with a literal land spirit involved in its creation is very much a big aspect of this cDream's obsession with control. He believes that if he can get Tommy to be his best friend then once he merges with the landscape No One will be able to challenge his authority w/o the literally earth turning on them. and y'know....in a protegeinnit-type AU, yeah. That could very much be the case. but since this AU is the Nice Soft Gentle Angst timeline, I see his attempts at forcing Tommy under his control to only make the land reject him more. by the time Tommy's gotten used to being with cBeeduo in Snowchester, he's made a lot of big steps in recovery and doesn't see cDream as anything other than the guy that abused him a bunch. good for him. sucks for the green fucker tho

Letting you out to go window shopping was admittedly one of the best ideas Hisoka believed he had had in a while.

Keeping you cooped up was all fun and games for a certain period of time, but he was quickly becoming bored; and the way you would stare longingly out of the windows of his apartment was growing... stale.

So he gave you what you so clearly wanted, and took you out one evening.

He didn't make you hold onto his arm as the two of you walked, instead opting to wrap a string of his nen around your wrist like a makeshift retractable leash.

He kept changing the length of it to his own pleasure, sometimes making it so you were able to walk 10 feet away from him before he yanked you back. After a little while he'd shorten the length considerably, keeping you no more than an arms length away.

He was a dick about it.

He didn't have to do this. He didn't need to physically tie you to him. He was perfectly capable of letting you walk on your own and chasing you down if, for whatever reason, you decided to forgo all logical thought and run.

It wasn't about that.

It was for his own entertainment. To watch the awe and wonder on your face at the many Christmas displays in the windows switch to one of annoyance or even somber when you were yanked backwards like a naughty dog.

It never got boring.

His curiosity was piqued when you stopped walking during a period where he was letting you fully relax again, standing transfixed in front of a display that was simplistic, but very pretty.

As he caught up to you, he could see the table behind the glass was covered in a wine red cloth with white fairy lights weaving around the items on the table tastefully, while crystal icicles dangled from the ceiling.

Propped up elegantly on the table were all kinds of jewelry on display. Necklaces, earrings, rings - all centered around the holiday theme of course.

And you were transfixed on a single necklace in the back. It was slightly hidden amongst the other items, obviously not the main attraction the store advertised, but he wouldn't deny that it was very pretty.

It was dainty, a thin silver chain with little charms of diamond snowflakes hanging from it - each one growing slightly larger than the last before it ended in a single flake accented with a sapphire in the middle.

"You have good taste, my dear.~♡"

The skin tone of your cheeks darkened instantly at his comment, your shoulders coming up to hide your face in obvious embarrassment at getting caught staring. You mumbled something into your scarf, which made him smile teasingly.

"You need to be a little louder.~◇" He sang. You made a noise akin to a whine, quickly turning on your heel and beginning to walk off.

Hisoka tutted, pulling on his string of nen, "Not so fast.~♤" He said, catching you gracefully as you stumbled back into his arms. "What did you say?~◇"

It was hard for you to ignore him when he held you so closely - almost like a dancer. "You'll think me materialistic." You muttered, glancing up at him almost ashamed.

He grinned wolfishly at you, "Darling I would never.~◇"

You pouted at the exaggerated defense in his tone that did not match his expression whatsoever, your fists bunching up against his chest almost desperately. "Please Hiso, it doesn't matter what I want."

"Ahhh, so you do want it.~♡" He continued to tease, loving the way your face continued to darken in embarrassment.

"It's expensive." You offered weakly in protest. "Can we go now?"

"Why? Are you in a rush to get home?~◇"

The colour change from flushed to bloodless was almost instantaneous at the implication.

"N-No, I just-"

Hisoka cut you off with a giggle, moving one of his hands underneath your chin to cradle your face. "You truly are adorable, Y/N~♡"

He ran his thumb across your bottom lip as it stuck out with your frown.

"I have been meaning to reward you for being so good for me lately.~◇" He tapped your cheek lightly, glancing back towards the necklace in feigned thought. Or genuine.

You could never tell anymore.

He hummed to himself before letting you go and walking towards the entrance to the shop. You sighed, following him silently before he could resort to dragging you behind him.

To anyone else the entire exchange looked like a man about to spoil his partner during the holiday season.

In reality it felt like you were about to get a pretty collar added to your leash.

I know lots of ppl love Chase, and he’s an interesting villain, but did it ever make you cringe when he started to become controlling and at it’s worst down-right abusive towards Wuya?

No. While I acknowledge that his actions were indeed controlling and abusive at worst, Chase in the entire franchise is all about control. It would be out of character for him to allow anyone of equal or greater power than himself to have free reign.

Had Wuya been patient, he probably would have been softer towards her, but that was never Wuya's style. She wants what she wants and she wants it now!! Even if that means jumping to another ship and setting the first one on fire.

I think I discussed this in some prior threads that the only foreseeable reason Chase brought Wuya back to flesh at the end of season two, was to display his own power. Wuya is the alleged "founder of Heylin magic" and here Chase is, sealing her full potential for his own preferences. It's another display of control and his own personal power.

At the end of the day, Chase's controlling behavior and abuse was warranted within the context of his character and given the fact that he's a villain interacting with another villain. I believe fans and myself would feel very differently if he acted the same way towards any of the monks. XS Chase also doesn't get pigeonholed into the "He's evil, because he's an abuser" pitfall. He's a multifaceted and complex character who is purely self-motivated, because he thinks his might is right. That's what makes a well-written villain imo.

In direct contrast we have XC Chase who does fall prey to the "He's evil because he's an abuser and no other qualities denote him as evil." So he's poorly written imo.

everybody was surprised at how leslie succeeded all that, april was even asking you if she’s holding you hostage but you quickly told her that it’s all consensual.

everybody was noticing leslie’s possessive behavior and at first it didn’t completely shock them but they were all really concerned for her.

“you know y/n, leslie is like cuckoo for you. i mean she’s always been that way but like not towards a human. i’d watch out if i were you.” april warned you which is something she never does, if april warns you about somebody than you should probably listen to her.

leslie takes you everywhere with her even when you got other things to do, she makes you drop them and be with her. you can never really say no she just... makes you.

“les, i have a really important phone call-“ “oh honey don’t be silly it’ll only just take a few seconds!”

meanwhile it consumes your whole day. whatever makes leslie satisfied i guess, who knows what she’ll do when you don’t listen to her. something tells you it won’t be pretty.

My King is... starting to scare me. He follows me VERY closely all the time, usually too close for comfort, and has started making intimidating displays toward my friends and family. I don't take him to work with me, but I feel like he's been lurking outside my workplace, because he asks these specific questions about what I did that day. He insists on picking out my clothes each day, and gets upset when I wear something else. I'm kinda freaked-- can you help me? He wasn't always like this!

*This is very unusual and completely unacceptable behavior from a King (or literally anyone). Something may have happened that cause him to have some extreme paranoia and feel the need to micromanage your life, but reasons do not excuse behaviors. You need to be able to feel comfortable with your lamia bitty, not frightened of him, and the situation cannot be allowed to escalate.

*Your King will need to be removed from your home, and I recommend that you allow Edgar and Waffle to come by and bring him in. They won’t hurt him, but it will be safer than you trying to bring him to the shop yourself. Since we don’t know what his psychological state is at this point, I don’t want want to risk him becoming suspicious and doing something drastic.

*Once he’s been brought to the shop, he will undergo a psychological evaluation, but from your description, I think the best course of action will be to move him to a permanent housing facility away from you. If he stayed here in our permanent residency rooms, he may try to escape and return to you, and we don’t want that to happen.
