Francine puts the drink down on the table and grabs the phone off the floor, and searches the contacts quickly to find her sister. She presses it and it dials. The falling station now plainly visible
Francine: here!

She looks up, her face is grateful. She settles her tears for a moment and tries to control her gasping
Sarah: H-hey sis. y-yeah. D-don’t worry. I-I’m ok. Are y-you safe? Good. I-I love y-ou.
She looks at the phone as it cuts off before she was finished. The emergency signal can be heard on the line. She drops the phone and balls up again, quietly sobbing,
Sarah: Thanks. At l-least s-she knows.

Francine comes and sits next to her on the floor.
Francine: You know, I do have one regret. Well no, several, but the main one...
Sarah *quietly*: Yeah?
Francine: I wish I got a chance to tell him I love him to his face..
Sarah thought she meant Guy...
Sarah: A-Arnold? I th-think h-he knows.
Francine *lackluster*: Yeah, I'm sure he does...
Sarah: I-I think s-she’ll make it o-out. T-they are farther out. I-I h-hope. S-she deserves t-to live. She’s o-only eight.
Francine: I think so too.
the redness is getting more intense as the station falls lower and lower

Sarah leans in to Francine, She’s sobbing a good bit between the wheezes.
Sarah: I-i don’t want t-to see i-it. I d-don’t want to.
Francine: Well there's one positive in all this... we won't have to worry about exams or coursework! I got you!
Holds Sarah tight. Francine can feel Sarah smile a little, but she doesn’t look up.
Sarah: I g-guess not. I s-studied hard t-though!
A fully vaccinated colleague who's only had his mask off with friends at home just got delta. My fear is high but I need to deal with it somehow. My friend who got infected last year is still having asthma attacks. Vast numbers of people I know have totally reverted to pre-virus behaviors and I think they're going to die. And maybe take me with them. I don't want to die, that would suck.
There's a party today I want to go to - outdoors, masks on - but this fear is choking me.
Fuck covid.
Most people i know are using college to prolong childhood and ignore the real world
the world is moving fast
Nah I’m not interestes in helping anyone with their emotions like it was different when I was younger but people’s emotions are crazy now and like, I’m not here to make anyone feel better about themselves or cheer em up im just here to warn people about things now because the world is a really vicious place and most people aren’t at all prepared———
I recommend people steal if they can get away with it. Not from people but like stores. Like you have bills to pay sonny boy 16 bucks for some listerine is some craziness you make 8 bucks it took you two hours for a bottle of listerine ha fuck that just take it
