Summary: Jack Abbot x Reader: You have health anxiety and need to take a new medicine that's a sedative. You go to PTMC to see if they'll let you sleep and be monitored. You meet a cute Attending.
TW: Fainting
A/N: Based on a real event that happened to me recently. Unfortunately, I didn't have a Jack Abbot to help me. Just my useless family that let me lay on the bathroom floor for ten minutes before helping me up. Anyway! Just a cute little something! I wrote quick, so apologies for errors. I was also on my NEW medication that is slightly sedative, again apologies.
You stood outside the hospital, staring up at the imposing façade. You had been pacing out front for the past fifteen minutes. You felt ridiculous. You were a grown adult woman, more or less healthy, but the damn anxiety was getting to you.
“Just fucking do it.” You growled to yourself as you walked into the ER. You were grateful that the waiting room seemed relatively empty.
“Hi, how can we help you?” The woman sitting at the front desk asked.
“Um…I have kind of a weird request.” You mumbled.
“We get a lot of those.” She huffed.
“Sure.” You gave a nervous smile. “I, um, I need to take a new medication that has sedative side effects and I’m really nervous about it. I was wondering if I could sleep here, with the leads and stuff on?” You bit your lip. You felt like such a wuss.
“Oh. Um…that is a new one.” The woman looked up at you confused. “Let me go talk to the boss.” She rolled back in her chair before jumping up and waltzing off.
You felt your face growing warm with embarrassment. You hated how your brain constantly worked against you.
“Okay, he’s fine with it. You have to get the full once over though. Policy.” She shrugged.
“That’s fine.” You nodded excitedly.
“Head over to the double doors.” She pointed.
“Thank you!” You trotted over, walking through the door.
“Hi, I’m Mateo. I’m going to take your vitals.” A young, handsome nurse appeared.
“Sure.” You smiled, following him over to a chair.
“What’s going on tonight?” He asked as he hooked you up to the blood pressure cuff, placing a pulse ox on your finger.
“Anxiety.” You sighed.
“Ah. Gets the best of us.” He smiled. “Well, your vitals are looking clean. Let me go check where we’re stashing you for the night.” He got and walked off. You saw him chatting with a redhead and a doctor with silver curls and rippling biceps. Your face flushed.
“If you’ll follow me, I’ll escort you to your suite.” Mateo said.
You followed behind him, walking through the surprisingly empty ER. You were thankful it wasn’t full. You probably would have turned right around. You didn’t like inconveniencing anyone more than you had to. You knew they had actual medical emergencies to tend to. You were just a scaredy cat.
“Here you go. Get comfy. Dr. Abbot will be over to chat in a minute.” Mateo said.
“Oh, I didn’t think a doctor would have to do an exam. I thought it was just vitals.” You were suddenly very shy.
“It’s just policy. Don’t worry, he’s cool.” Mateo nodded as he left.
“Great.” You groaned, your head in your hands as you sat on the bed. You jumped as the curtain was pulled open suddenly.
“Good evening, I’m Dr. Abbot.” The silver-haired man came in, eyes trained on a tablet. “Says you have anxiety. Want to give me a little more info?”
“It’s stupid.” You grumbled.
“Well, it made you want to come here. I doubt it’s stupid.” He crossed his arms.
“I have a lot of anxiety. My health anxiety is the worst. My doctor put me on a new depression medication that’s meant to be taken so I can get some sleep. It’s a sedative essentially. I can’t stop thinking that I’m going to be too sedate and stop breathing in my sleep. I don’t know where the idea came from, but I realized if you guys aren’t crazy, I could maybe sleep here hooked up to the machines, with people checking to make sure I’m not dead.” You rambled out in one breath.
“I see. Okay.” He nodded, typing something into the tablet.
“I told you it was stupid.” You scoffed at yourself.
“Still isn’t stupid.” He said, his voice steady. “You’re welcome to rest here for a while. I’m sure you’ll want to leave after a few hours. It’s no problem for us to keep an eye on you.”
“The minute it gets busy, please don’t hesitate to kick me out. I mean, I really shouldn’t be bothering you in the first place!” You were frustrated.
“Don’t worry, we’re good at kicking out people who shouldn’t be here. You’re not one of them.” He was so sure and calm.
“But there isn’t anything wrong with me.” You looked at him, confused.
“You’re starting a new medication. That’s scary. You’re allowed to come here if you’re scared. It’s our job to help you not be scared. This is the best place to be if you have any symptoms. Did you take it yet?” He asked.
“No.” You shook your head.
“What is it?”
“Seroquel 50mg.” You said. He huffed out a laugh. “What?”
“Nothing. Sorry. It’s just a baby dose compared to the shit they put me on.” He smirked.
“I knew I was a baby.” You shook your head.
“Not what I meant. I’ve got a harder head than you. I’ll have one of the nurses bring you some water and you can take your meds. I’ll be around if you need me.” He smiled and walked out.
You got comfortable in the bed, as comfortable as anyone can in a hospital bed. You were already starting to feel more at ease.
“Knock, knock!” A voice rang and Mateo walked in. “I have a water for you.” He handed you the water bottle.
“Thanks.” You took it and popped the pill in your mouth downing it.
“Let’s get you hooked up to the monitors.” He said placing the pulse ox on and hooking up the machines.
“How long do you think it will take to kick in?” You asked.
“Depends. Everyone is different. Usually pretty quick.” Mateo said. “You’re all set. Do you need anything?”
“Fuck.” You groaned.
“You gotta pee, huh?” He shook his head with a smirk.
“Yeah.” You hung your head. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. I never remember to go to the bathroom until I’m in bed, too.” He unhooked you from the machines, leaving the cuff and leads attached to you still.
“You have permission to gossip about me all you want. I’m the annoying patient, I know.” You chuckled.
“Far from it. I can’t tell you anything, but you are most definitely not the annoying patient tonight.” Mateo whispered.
“Oh, tea.” You gave him a sly smile.
“Bathroom is just down the hall.” He pointed out.
“Thanks.” You shuffled down to the bathroom.
You quickly peed and fixed the pajamas you had come in, making sure the drawstring wouldn’t annoy you. You were washing your hands when the cold sweat started.
“Whoa.” You mumbled. You knew what this feeling was. You just need to fix your blood pressure. You got up too fast. You stood taking deep breaths, holding onto the sink. The feeling wouldn’t pass. You could feel yourself going. You just need to sit back down.
You opened the door and stumbled out. The world was tilting. You looked up and saw the nurse’s station and vague blobs that were people.
“I don’t feel so good.” You slurred out before your legs gave out and you were on the floor.
“Shit!” You heard some yelp.
“Hey, sweetheart? Can you hear me?” A gentle, female voice called to you.
“Uh…” you couldn’t get words to work.
“Let’s get her up. It’s probably orthostatic hypotension.” Dr. Abbot’s voice rang through.
“I’m…okay…” You mumbled.
“Can you sit up?” He asked. You pushed upright, your body swaying.
“Good. That’s good.” He smiled. “We’re getting you in a chair and back to bed.” He said.
“I should have waited outside. I didn’t think she was a fall risk.” Mateo looked worried.
“I’m sorry.” Your words fumbled from your lips.
“No one’s upset. These things happen.” Dr. Abbot said. “Help me get her in the chair.”
You were lifted to your feet and plopped into a wheelchair. You were moving but couldn’t really see where.
“Okay, let’s get you to bed. You need to sleep the meds off.” Dr. Abbot helped you to your feet.
“You’re really nice.” You sighed as you crumbled into the bed.
“I try.” He chuckled.
“I like your hair.” You smiled before sleep took over.
“Keep her hooked up to the machines. I want a blood pressure every hour.” Abbot instructed Mateo. “And get her a fall risk bracelet.”
You startled awake. You almost forgot you had come into the hospital, confused by your surroundings. Once your brain caught up, you relaxed.
“Hey, sleeping beauty, how you doing?” Mateo smiled as he came.
“Sleepy.” You mumbled.
“Yeah.” He chuckled. “You’ve been snoring for the better part of eight hours. Day shift is coming in. It’s starting to heat up out there. Be prepared to get the boot.” Mateo said.
“Make’s sense.” You cleared your throat, sitting up. “Did I collapse last night?”
“Big time. In the middle of everything.” Mateo smiled.
“Oh man. That’s embarrassing.” You whined.
“Naw. We see everything. That was nowhere near embarrassing.” Mateo scoffed.
“Dr. Abbot carried me into bed.” You gasped.
“Carried is a bit of an exaggeration. Placed you into bed, more accurate.” Mateo said.
“I can never be cool in front of hot people.” You groaned. Mateo cackled as he opened the curtain. Dr. Abbot stood just outside.
“Morning.” He smiled.
“I’m so sorry!” You felt terrible for making his night more complicated than it needed to be.
“Nothing to apologize for. It was just a bit of low blood pressure. Now you know how you react. I’d let your provider know, so they can switch you.” Dr. Abbot nodded.
“Oh, I am never taking that shit again.” You huffed.
“You’ll find the right formula. Takes time.” Dr. Abbot smiled. “I have to kick you out, I’m afraid. My waiting room is filling up. Glad we could help you out.”
“Thanks for being so nice. I don’t know if another doctor would have let me crash here for such a silly reason.” You smiled.
“It wasn’t silly. But I work nights, and if you ever need it, you can come in, and I’ll do my best to help you out.” He nodded and walked off.
I call this one “Dr. Abel-decides-to-gaslight-Ragatha-instead-of-just-telling-her-he’s-basically- in-a-costume-because-he-thinks-it’ll-make-him-more-trustworthy-somehow-and-because-he-generally-sucks”
Yeah idk if this is one of my best comics and I’m very tired atm so I’m sure I’ve made some mistake that I’m missing, but I had to get me thoughts across ;-; as soon as I watched episode 7 I sat down and did the sketches for this because I HAD to channel that energy somewhere
Also, side note, but I hope I depicted the fainting alright—I have fainted before myself but obviously I couldn’t see what it looked like while it was happening 😭💔 As always please let me know if anything is egregiously inaccurate:,3
If you’re confused you can read a bit more about ep 7 in the au here!
as a girly who has fainting spells that happen every few years, this is for the goyles, boils, and spookies.

How I think the Sullys would react to you fainting
Jake:
So, you warned Jake when you got together. “Hey. Just letting you know. I get these… fainting spells every so often. My mom had them and it just happens. But, I have no idea if I will get another because we can apparently grow out of it.”
He was very accepting and kind. He just kinda hoped that you wouldn’t faint when he wasn’t in his avatar.
Thank god for him then, when you do faint at 2 am, it’s after the Pandoran War, so he is permanently Na’vi. But it scares the shit out of him.
It happened when you were going to the restroom to grab water, cause the line for the water thing was too long. He happened to be in the lab and talking to Norm when he heard a thump, and then the beginning of a cry before silence.
Of course, his instincts kick in and he goes straight to where he heard the noise. He knocks on the door, “Everything okay in there?”
When he’s met with silence and a locked door, he has Norm open it so he doesn’t kick it down.
When the door finally opens, you are face down-ass up on the cold tile floor and knocked the fuck out.
“Babe. Baby,” Jake starts to wake you up.
“Jake?” and he sighs with relief. You’re fine. Just fainted.
“I’m here, baby. Lets get you checked out by Norm. You look like you took a pretty bad fall.” He tries to brush his fingers over the forming goose egg forming on your head, just to recoil when you wince and hiss in pain.
“Okay. Let’s get you checked out, baby.”
Neytiri:
For Neytiri, I think you’d have undergone the Consciousness Transfer Ceremony so you could stay with her naturally.
I also think you wouldn’t have thought to tell her about your fainting spells because you are in a different body now. Why would you still have fainting spells?
So when you do get the vertigo and static in your head, you don’t have enough time to warn Neytiri before your world goes black.
Neytiri looks for you when she hears a thud, and finds you flopped on the soil, and thinks you’re dead. Like, legitimately, thinks you are dead until she’s yelling your name and you wake up a couple seconds later.
When you wake up, she’s holding you close.
“Ma’yawntu! Eywa, I thought you died! Never do that again!”
And all you can think is ‘Fuck’ while she holds you close.
"I'm sorry I scared you, Ma'Tiri. I thought I wouldn't have these fainting spells anymore," You put a hand on her, as you shakily stand up, getting used to holding yourself up with the muscle weakness after losing all control of it.
"We shall go to Mother to stop whatever these 'fainting spells' are," Neytiri grabs your hand and takes you to the older Tsahik's tent to 'fix' whatever thing you got.
Neteyam:
He, much like his mother, did not expect you to faint. Because this is after the RDA, you were just a kid left behind by the humans. Another human child, but one who seemingly knew how to honor Eywa and Pandora themselves. So in-tune with everything around them.
But when Neteyam heard the thump of your head hitting grass as you played with a Fan Lizard, he freaked out.
Did you crack your mask? Did the RDA come back? Did another tribe see you alone and kill you?
His thoughts run from him before pushing through the treeline into the area of leaves and vines you were in, just to find you passed out in the grass.
He runs over, and picks you up, checking on your mask to make sure you could breathe.
"Yawnetu!" Neteyam shakes you lightly after seeing the split lip you got from falling.
You slowly come out of it, crying and in pain.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry," You cry, feeling terrible and guilty for having fainted.
"Ma'yawnetu... Do not say sorry. You are okay," Neteyam holds you tight.
"We should get you back to Norm and Max for them to check you out. We gotta find Dad," Neteyam, ever the problem solver, starts fixing you up just for the ride to find his dad, and head back to Hell's Gate for Norm to fix you up.
"Thank you, Neteyam," You whisper leaning your head on him.
"Ma'yawnetu, I would do anything for you... but don't scare me like that again. I thought you died."
Lo'ak:
Being Lo'ak's partner means a lot of things. He likes to be around you, but he feels so protective over you. When it comes to anything happening to you, he would not hesitate to ask his Dad for help, despite every memory telling him he needs to figure it out himself.
So when you collapse onto the soft ground of the clearing, Lo'ak turns in time to catch you, not hearing your footsteps behind him anymore.
Internally, he is a mess. He wants to cry and make sure you are alive because something must have caused this.
And within the five seconds of him thinking, he watches you wake again.
"Lo'ak!" You cry, shakily putting your arms around him. Just happy your partner is there.
He makes the decision then to go to his Dad. His Dad knew your Mom during his RDA days, so he might have a better knowledge of what just happened.
"You got what your Mom had?" Jake asks, looking at you in the med bay that he had directed Lo'ak take you to, despite your protests.
"Yeah... Norm calls them 'fainting spells'."
"Sounds like your Mom's lingo," Jake jokes before looking at his son, a copy and paste of himself.
"Son, your partner has 'fainting spells'. Means they can faint whenever and wherever for seemingly no reason. If you want, we can talk about what to do in those situations, but it looks like you had this one handled," Jake gives Lo'ak underlying praise.
"Their Mom told me what to do in the situations that she would faint, so if you want, Norm and I can tell you what to do when they faint," Jake offers the bit of advice and teaching he can offer.
Lo'ak, determined to be able to care for you, accepts, "Yeah, Dad. I want to know how to care for them."
While you may feel shame for the faints, he will always know how to take care of you, even in the most difficult of situations. Because that's all Lo'ak wants to do. Care for you.
Kiri:
When she saw you collapse, Kiri had no idea what to do. She couldn't leave her little tawtute alone in the forest. So she does what she knows how to. She connects with the forest, and right as she is about to...
You wake up. You start crying because that was so fucking scary. You haven't fainted in years and it just now happened? What the fuck? But then you register Kiri being there, and you sit up as you can and hold her, begging her not to leave you. You don't know what 'leaving' entails, but Kiri isn't going to.
So she picks up her cute little human partner and bring them to tsahik, who says you're okay and just need some fruit, which she promptly hands you, pre-cut for your convenience. Kiri loves you, her little partner, and just wants to make sure you are okay.
Author's Cup of Tea: So... consider this a peace offering from when I was gone for a few days. I did add to my original Avatar series, but I figured this might be a nice addition to it. It is not directly related to the series, but this is in honor of my own fainting.

Lando Norris Masterlist
Masterlist
„Lando, do you really think that is a good idea?“ I stood beside him, unsure if I was really able to cook this dinner together with him.
He planned it all out. With the limited time that we had due to his stressful job that involved a lot of travelling, every time he was home, I became his priority. It was his goal to spend the most time with me that he could before he had to leave again to go to the next city, the next race, the next victory.
Tonight, he wanted to do a cooking date with me. And it got me wondering if this dickhead really knew me as well as I always thought he did. I was a mess in the kitchen. He knew it. I knew it. The world knew it ever since he had the incredible idea of calling me out during one of his streams in the early days.
Now it was just me and him. He had already prepared all the ingredients that we would need for the salad and for the main dish. I skeptically looked at the items in front of me and slowly reached out to grab one of the apples and twisted it in my hand.
„It is a wonderful idea. Believe me.“
It was not that Lando had any exceptional talent when it came to cooking. But at least he never nearly burnt down our entire apartment because he forgot to turn down the oven when baking a cake. Yup, that was me.
After that, I never even caught a glimpse at any complicated-looking recipes. Until today.
I took a step closer to Lando and slightly leaned against his strong shoulder while he held the paper with the recipe in his hands. „Lemon Chicken with Herbed Couscous and Shaved Fennel Salad? Have you seen me cook?“ I let out, staring at him like he just grew a third ear.
He giggled. „Don‘t worry. It‘s gonna be fine.“ He put the paper back down, reaching for the lemon on the counter with more confidence than I would expect from him when he had to stand in the kitchen. „Just don‘t cut yourself with the knife and you‘ll be fine.“
What he just said as a joke had a deeper meaning. We both knew if I really would cut myself, the chances of me tragically collapsing in his arms were much higher than zero. Much higher than 50 percent to be more precise.
Well, it didn‘t even need to be tragic, I have fainted over much smaller things. Stabbing my toe, even biting my tongue. I just… shut down. When I was little, the doctor had told me about vasovagal syncope, a long, medical term to describe my stupid nervous-system cutting short at the tiniest sign of danger.
Growing up with it hadn‘t been easy. Kids are idiots, adults are even worse. I‘ve always been underestimated, nobody trusted me with any task.
Lando changed that for me. Once I told him about my fainting thing, he made it his priority to turn things around for me and show me how amazing life can be when you are not busy thinking about possible danger zones 24/7. It had been freeing, the time with him.
But still, my anxiety was never gone. Sometimes, in moments like this it came back with full force. I stared at the knife in front of me. I didn‘t want to destroy the good mood, all the energy and enthusiasm Lando put into this shouldn‘t be destroyed just because I couldn‘t switch off my thoughts.
„Hey, love.“ Lando tried getting my attention, his tone suddenly a lot softer. „Look at me.“ he said, slowly guiding my face in his direction. I looked up at him, my doubt and my anxiety still visible in my face, knowing that I was safe around him. “I know knives make you nervous. But we‘ll go slow, okay? No need to rush things, it‘s just us tonight.“ A mischievous grin started growing on his face as he continued. „And if you do faint, I‘ll be sure to catch you. Not that I would want to put it to test tonight.“ He shrugged, letting my face go in the next second and focusing back on the recipe in front of him.
I was still nervous, scared as I always were when a potentially dangerous situation came up, but Lando calmed me down. That was why I missed him when he wasn‘t around, he was my anchor in difficult times. I needed him.
Carefully, his eyes scanned over the text on the recipe and I did my best to try and regulate my emotions, pushing my anxiety to a dark place in my head right where it belongs. Out of sight, out of mind. „Okay then. What should I do? I think we both know I am not going to be a huge help with this, but I‘ll give it a try.“
When Lando looked up to me again, a comforting smile covered his face. „How about you cut the fennel for the salad? You can‘t set something on fire there.“
„Okay…“ After a moment of hesitation, I nodded. The knife was still lying peacefully in front of me, but I side-eyed it in a most likely pretty meme-worthy way, judging from Lando‘s muffled giggle next to me.
„Here, I‘ll help you.“ Carelessly, he took the knife in his one hand and grabbed the fennel in the other. Lying it down on the cutting board, he took my hand and laid it on his own. The handle of the knife felt cold in my hand and a shiver ran down my spine as pictures of what terrible things could happen to me appeared in front of my inner eye. Every situation involved two things: Blood. And passing out. Of course.
Gently, Lando guided me through the first smooth cuts of the fennel, his hand lying on top of mine as a continuous reminder of his calming presence. Everything will be alright.
I let out a shaky breath as Lando let go of me and I missed the comforting weight of his hand on mine.
He grinned at me, wiping his hands on a towel. „Okay, real talk: If you faint tonight, I‘m demanding a refund from your nervous system. This is getting ridiculous. I mean, look at you. A natural. What could possibly go wrong now?“ He first pointed to the knife in my hand, then to me, his unbeatable smile on his lips immediately lifting the heavy mood in the room.
I laughed to myself, finally feeling a bit more relaxed about another crazy idea of his. It was gonna be fine. Lando was here. It was just a knife. It was not like I was some type of child, right? „Okay, let‘s do this then.“ With lots of confidence in my voice, I grabbed the knife a little firmer in my steady hand and lowered it onto the fennel. The first cut went well, I felt the relief flickering through my entire body as I looked up to Lando again with a bright smile on my lips.
Time went by and we started working silently next to each other. I was busy cutting the fennel into equal pieces for the salad and Lando continued preparing the couscous. Eventually, we started talking. He asked me about my colleagues at work, I shared all the gossip with him and soon, our conversation concluded in the topic that it always seemed to reach. Racing. Life in the paddock. Mclaren.
I knew Lando loved talking about his job. And I loved seeing him happy. So I listened to his soothing voice whilst he told me about the newest accomplishments in the last race and even though I understood nothing of tyre deg or pit stops, I enjoyed this moment because it was with him. My Lando. Together. With me.
Slowly, my anxiety vanished into the background, it wasn‘t important anymore, sharing this intimate experience with Lando mattered more.
„And Thomas, my mechanic, brought his daughter to the race last weekend and she was so cute, Tessa. She looked up at me with this huge grin on her face and asked for a photo. Cutest thing on this planet, I swear.“ I looked up from my task to see the excitement in his eyes that I loved so much, until I felt a familiar sting in my finger.
„Ow!“ I let out, catching Lando‘s attention. He looked over, instantly spotting the tiny cut on my finger and the blood beginning to form. I only caught a small glimpse at it before quickly looking away again because I knew what would happen next.
Instead, I focused on Lando. He hid his worry beneath his desire to help me, but clearly not knowing how. „Shit, Tess. What should I do?“ he asked me, but I couldn‘t answer him. My body betrayed me.
The symptoms always came fast. Faster than I could even process what just happened, my gaze whitened and I started to lose my hearing. The world became too bright, too loud. Everything started tilting. Fuck.
I gripped the first thing in front of me, Lando‘s arm. I held it tight, scraping my nails deeply into his flesh, my only way of compensating the waves of dizziness relentlessly flooding over me again and again.
My vision blurred, everything was so goddamn bright, it was painful to keep my eyes open. „Tess! Tess, talk to me.“ I‘ve never heard Lando panic before, but his voice reached a tone that I have never heard before.
I didn‘t panic. Exhaustion pulsed through my veins instead. „It‘s so bright…“ I whispered, my voice barely audible. „Make it stop, please.“ A quiet whimper left my throat as I felt Lando‘s hands pulling me into a tight hug, holding me close.
„Okay, love. Let‘s sit down, yeah? Get you in a safe position. Can you do that for me?“
His hazel eyes blurred right in front of me. I shook my head. „Can‘t…“ I choked on my own words and lazily looked at him through hooded eyes. „So tired.“
„I know, Tessa. I know.“ His voice cracked, but his helplessness didn’t reach me. I just wanted it to stop. „We’ll sit down together, alright? Just stay with me, hold my arm, sweetie.“
I wanted to, I really goddamn wanted to help him, but things never go my way.
I lost complete control over my body as I squeezed my eyes together, fighting against my body in an endless battle, but lost the fight just seconds later as everything turned black.
———————————————-
Bright light and utter exhaustion welcomed me as I slowly opened my eyes again. The underground felt hard against my upper body and something pressed into my back painfully.
I contorted my face in pain as a familiar voice reached me. „Fuck, Tess. You scared the hell out of me.“ Lando‘s words followed with a chuckle brought back the memories.
Cooking date. Knife. Blood.
I looked up and stared into my favorite pair of eyes in the world. I smiled at him as an answer because my throat felt as if I ate an entire bag of sand straight from Egypt.
I sat on the kitchen floor for another minute, the handle of the cupboard still in the way of my back, but it was better than nothing. Better than fainting again.
Lando eventually kneeled down next to me and took my hand into his, slowly caressing the palm of my hand with his thumb.
Ages ago, I told him I loved it when he did that and ever since then he always grabbed my hand and repeated that gesture when I was at the verge of a meltdown as an attempt of calming me down.
It worked. Even now, after an exhausting experience for my body and mind, his presence and motions managed to somehow make everything just a tiny bit better.
„Thanks.“ I murmured, my voice still hoarse. „For catching me, I guess.“
„You‘re lucky I hit the gym so often.“ He chuckled, looking at me with an amused look on his beautiful face that I wouldn‘t want to miss in situations like these. “But seriously, are you okay? We never really spoke about what I should do when this happens.“
I shrugged. „Nothing to worry about. Honestly, you did just fine. What‘s most important is that I sit down. If I pass out, I pass out. Nothing you can do, really.“
„That‘s so not cool by the way. What‘s it called again? You know I‘m not too good with names.“
„Vasovagal syncope.“ I sighed. I knew the term by heart ever since getting the diagnosis. It defined my childhood most of the time, I must know what was wrong with me.
“That‘s a shit name, honestly. Sounds so— medical.“
I couldn‘t help it but laugh. „Lando, that‘s because it is.“ I looked over at him in amusement.
„Well, it‘s horrible. I think it should have a different name. Why not call it oil leak?“
I shook my head in disbelief, not able to hold back the giggle. This man and his racing. Something I believed there wasn‘t space for anything else in his tiny head.
„Engine failure?“ He continued suggesting, not once letting go of my hand.
I smacked his arm playfully. „Stop it! Now.“
He held his free hand up in defense. „Hey! You‘re pretty strong for someone who just collapsed in my arms like a little princess.“
„I‘m too clumsy to be a princess.“ I said, resting my head on his shoulder and inhaling his very own scent like it was the only thing keeping me alive.
“You‘re my princess. And that‘s why you will sit over there and I‘ll finish our cooking.“ He pointed to the small bar stool in front of his kitchen island.
I hesitated. „But… It was supposed to be a date.“
„It is a date. Just pretend you don‘t know what I‘m cooking and everything‘s mega.“ Quickly, he got on his feet again and offered me his hands to pull me up as well.
Gratefully, I grabbed them both and stood up much slower than him, knowing damn well that it wasn‘t uncommon for my nervous system to play a joke on me again.
This time, I was fine though. Nothing happened and I could sit down on the bar stool to rest and stare at the man I was actually allowed to call my boyfriend.
I loved him. And looking deeply into his eyes from across the kitchen, I knew it would never change.
God there's are so many things I can say about your comic!!! Spam + Tenna having a pretty amicable relationship, Pipis loving her weird dad, Blue coming over to help Spam + getting a bit protective over him (idk if he's his brother or just a close friends?) the concept of a data transfusion (id loooove to hear more about that; how does it work? does Blue know about what all happened?) and poor Pipis having to hear the whole argument :( Im genuinely so hooked on this!!!
EEEE I'm so happy you like it!!! And are curious about it!!! I honestly didn't expect to go as far as I did with it- so I'll be honest a lot of this teeters on the ramblings of a mad-man.
I just want them to live someplace cozy, so I imagine after a couple of decades everyone just starts making Castle Town their own and building/moving into their own places. Would it be unrealistic to headcanon Suzy and Noelle getting married and keeping Castle Town at their place for a permanent solution? Also in many cases you'll just have to suspend belief as far as aging goes. If it's explicitly mentioned at any point I didn't have my listening ears on but I am NOT drawing a crotchety Tenna.
He's still very much an active TV host- after a few years focusing exclusively on Pip, he entertains for Suzy, Noelle, and darkners with his daughter Pipis as co-host.
Spamton was relieved of his duties helping Kris, Suzy, and Ralsei the moment Kris heard about Pipis hatching, they will not be complicit in divorce or dead-beat fathers. However, post-neo clarity be damned, Spam comes to the conclusion that he cannot allow himself to hurt Pip in the same way Asgore and Toriel hurt Kris, Asriel, and Tenna. No arguments, no violent manic episodes, none of it in front of her. So they did physically separate, much to Tenna's own dismay.
Spammy is a good Papa, they're both great dads.
But that doesn't erase 15 years of being a dummy living in and out of dumpsters with busted code.
...and things are getting increasingly worse. Tenna and Pip both are consumed with work, they know Spam has a support system, and assume he'd tell them if something big happened. You'd figure after almost thirty years knowing the guy you'd know better, but oh well!
NOW- Lets Talk Data Infusion!
THANK YOU AGAIN SM FOR ASKING!!!! LET ME KNOW IF ANY OF THIS IS ILLEGIBLE IT WAS ALL WRITTEN UP IN A DAY AND I GOTTA GET TO CLASS!!! LOVE YOU!
