@painandprettybows wanted to know the hospital story so here goes:

I was working as an industrial mechanic on a valve under this big water tank at about 8:30 at night, had to cut these big bolts with an angle grinder. Somehow the grinder grabbed into the bolt just right and threw itself right at my face, knocked my safety glasses aside, and put a 3 inch gash *just* above my eye. I so clearly remember seeing the little 'warning, use caution' sticker getting bigger and bigger in slow motion before it hit me lol. I stumbled out from under the tank and looked up at the sky and couldn't see shit, was kinda freaking out thinking I just removed my eye lol, but I felt my face and realized that my eyelid was just kinda hanging loose over my eyeball, I like, peeled it up and somehow I could see fine lol (aside from the bloody tinge xD) fucking miracle I missed my eye. Anyway I walked into the office and had my buddy drive me to the hospital where I scared the fuck out of the admitting nurse and the nurses aid who then, not believing I could see perfectly fine (after I peeled my eyelid off my eye) made me take a vision test, which I managed to pass better on my injured eye than on my "good" eye. Then I spent four or five hours chatting with this super nice ex-marine doc turned trauma surgeon while he stitched my eyelid back in place, got done, checked out, and realized I didn't have my phone on me and, since I had my friend drive me there, didn't have any way of getting back to my car. So I ended up walking the hour or so back to work at 3:00 in the 28 degree November morning to get my car and then drive the half hour back home with one eye swollen shut xD
