Saw videos on tik tok saying Anna Duggar is going to lose her children to children and youth CPS. Definitely conjecture. I’m a social worker who works closely with CPS systems.

Unless Anna is also getting arrested for abusing minors (which doesn’t seem remotely likely) then the court won’t get involved. If someone reports that Anna knew about his abuse against minors and didn’t do anything, CPS will investigate but it’s really hard to prove. It’s so so so hard to remove children from their parents.

Let’s say that does happen (which it won’t) CPS has a mandate to find family willing to take the children temporarily until Anna can get parenting classes, therapy, etc to qualify to get them back. Grandparents are usually a first choice. And CPS wouldn’t have a reason to say no. Tik tok also said because Jim Bob and Michelle are in a cult CPS will not allow them to have the children. Also not accurate. Being in any fundamentalist religion doesn’t disqualify you. Even if they have abused children in the past, there’s no proof or charges previously against them. Let’s say someone reports Jim Bob and Michelle to CPS now there would need to be an investigation that would take time. In the meantime all the children would stay with them. Then once Anna completed her end of the CPS deal, then she would get her kids back. No way would CPS require Anna to “leave her cult”. They cannot legally tell someone to change religions. As long as Anna works on getting custody back then the courts won’t terminate her rights.
