Getting told I'm being silly over my intrusive thoughts particularly about supernatural or fantasy things (ie. cryptids, ghosts, monsters, etc) because "they aren't real" like that's gonna fix it.

This is OCD saneism.

Those who say this have no idea that insight is literally one of the specifiers for OCD in the DSM-5, and that a lot of the time, people with OCD are completely aware of their irrational thoughts.

Logic doesn’t get rid of the fear. It’s debilitating. It’s stressful. It’s exhausting. You KNOW your own brain is lying to you, but you can’t help but feel it. It makes it so hard to trust yourself, and the folks who say this just make it so much worse.

I’m sorry you’re being treated this way, anon. I hope you’re able to find others who are willing to understand and support you. You deserve so much better.

The first 3 designed gods of my oc story, ‘The birth of a martyr’

They don’t really have names right now, just placeholders and are not to scale. They are also naked right now

Left: sprout (he/they/it), the god of nature and angel of famine. It is intersex and the second child of the first generation gods. They are one of the more peaceful gods but that is not to say he can not become animalistic and violent.

Inspos: sandworms, mantises, vinushka, nature gods

Middle: Cthulhu/Midas (they/him). The god of destruction and basically the “father” of the second generation gods. They are extremely gluttonous and strives to only destroy to make way for creation- any inclination for alternative motives is a blight on the art of destruction for him. Naturally curious and at times non violent, he used to walk beside the sapient world underneath a variety of facades. Holds a mild distaste and disinterest in sapient society and progression. They also love their wife and kids

Inspos: Cthulhu, Gro-goroth, black holes, the sun, big cats

Right: Aries (they/them). God of society and angel of war, they are a pathetic lesbian. The most important god of the story due to the main character coining from a community whose main religion who worships them. Violent and cunning, they only wish for their sacrifices to be an act of war, anything else is heretical. They are the only god that stayed with the sapient world besides their older brother (sprout).

Why does like, every person who grey up in rural (or suburban) areas believe in ghosts and monsters? But ppl who grew up in large cities don’t?

Cause I believe in ghosts, Monsters, or otherworldly shit, and I grew up in a rural/suburban area, all my friends who also grew up there do as well. But my city friends don’t??

It might be because of some of the paranormal or weird shit that we saw and experienced, but my city friends have had some questionable stuff as well that could be explained as paranormal?!

Oh, and they believe in like monsters that haunt dreams but can’t hurt you, but they don’t believe in actual malevolent, physical creatures and entities?
