As you sat with the pack in Derek’s loft, Lydia planned her families annual Halloween party. “So, this year we are doing a haunted house theme and we need some scares to take place throughout the night. So. What are some things that scare you?”
“Spiders” Scott suggested
“Sharks?” Kira spoke up from next to him.
“Clowns” you and Stiles said at the same time, sharing a look of agreement.
“The ever imminent demise of our world”
You all turned your heads at the suggestion, finding Peter sitting on a nearby couch reading a book, unbothered, as if what he said was a part of every day conversation.
“oookay” Lydia said, hint of confusion in her voice before turning to Derek “What about you Derek?”
Derek looked from his uncle to Lydia “Nothing”
You and Stiles both chuckled “Yeah right -” Stiles began “there’s nothing that scares you?”
Derek looked at him “Nothing you could use at a Halloween party”
You frowned at him “Nothing?”
He met your eyes, seeing a hint of challenge in your gaze “Nothing.”
“I don’t believe you” you challenged “I bet there is something. Probably something embarrassing.” you smirked at the suggestion.
Derek smiled lightly at you “You couldn’t find anything to scare me with”
“Is that a challenge?” you asked with a smirk as Stiles and Scott let out quiet ‘oohs’ making Derek roll his eyes before he looked back at you.
Walking closer he bent down, staring directly in your eyes “Try it”
You smiled at him as Lydia rolled her eyes and cleared her throat “If you two are done flirting, can we discuss my party now?”
Derek straightened up before walking out of the room, no comment against Lydia’s accusal of flirting. He knew that was what he was doing, sort of, but he wasn’t sure you did.
As you all continued to talk over the party, you had thoughts running in the back of your mind, thinking of ways you could scare Derek, while hopefully embarrassing him as well.
The First Time
You decided to try something classic at first, something stupid. Sometimes it was the simplest solution that solved a problem. Sneaking quietly into the loft, mask behind your back, you looked around before listening for any noise.
Hoping that if Derek heard you come in, he might think you were Peter, as he came and went as he pleased. Hearing movement as Derek made his way down the stairs. You hid under the staircase as you put on the mask.
The mask was a werewolf mask, of course, but this one was alarming similar to what werewolves actually look like. As Derek walked down the staircase, you saw him looking around the loft.
As he stepped off the last step you popped out with a no so convincing roar or sorts. Derek stepped back, but made no face or noise of alarm. Seeing that he stared blankly at you you sighed yanking off the mask “Nothing huh?”
He rose his brow as he smirked “Definitely not that” he said as he turned to walk towards the kitchen “Besides, how could you surprise me if I already knew you were here?”
“I thought you might think I was Peter” you admitted as you followed him, disappointed.
He chuckled as he opened and closed the fridge. Turning around, water in hand, he stared at you for a moment “You don’t smell like Peter”
You hesitated as you stared at him “What..do I smell like?” you asked, genuinely curious, having not thought of it before.
All he did was smirk before walking past and back towards the stairs “Don’t forget to close the door tight when you leave”
You glared at him as he disappeared up the stairs, ‘Oh I’ll get you’ you thought to yourself as you left.
The Second Time
Sitting on the couch, your mind was filled with anticipation as you waited for Derek to come back from the store.
Lydia, Stiles and Scott sat around the loft talking and going over coursework. Looking at what Stiles was doing you smiled “I thought you said you finished all your homework”
He looked up at you with disdain “They assigned more”
You chuckled “Yeah, teacher’s will do that. I’m glad I just don’t have to deal with it anymore”
As the loft door slid open, you saw Derek, making the anticipation build as he walked into the loft, his eyes grazing over all of his uninvited guests, hesitating on your for a second.
Looking up, you meet his eyes as he passes before he looks at the others “Why is it you guys always come here, don’t you have homes?”
“We like it here Derek, you should be flattered” Stiles muttered as he tapped his pencil against his chin.
You could practically feel Derek roll his eyes as he went into the kitchen. You watched him from your peripheral as he moved around, waiting for the moment he would open the cabinet. Seeing him reach for it, you looked up completely.
As he opened the cabinet, a large hand sprung out, paired with a loud automated scream. You cursed to yourself as you saw that Derek reacted in no way, apart from a small flinching blink. The others however all jumped and gasped at the sudden noise, all turning to look at what caused it.
Derek paused before turning and looking at you expectantly, the others followed his gaze, landing on your disappointed frown. You shrugged “Well at least I scared someone” you said as you looked at the others.
Derek smiled at the comment before grabbing and removing the hand. Walking over to you, he tossed it on the couch next to you, a cocky smile on his face as he passed. You stuck out your tongue at him, making him chuckled lightly.
The Third Time
"So Derek, how do you feel about scary movies, huh?” you asked as you flicked through the options on the screen.
“They’ve never bothered me” Derek replied, knowing exactly what you were doing.
“What was the last movie that scared you?” Scott asked as he settled on the couch with Kira.
“There haven’t been any”
“Oh bullshit!” Stiles called as he made popcorn in the kitchen.
Derek rolled his eyes “They’re just movies, why would I get scared?”
You looked at him “Seriously? Not even one? What about suspenseful ones that make your heart beat so fast you can’t breath right?”
Derek smiled at you before shaking his head, making you sigh as you plopped down on the couch next to him, continuing to look through movies, ignoring the burning gaze of Derek’s eyes as he looked at you.
After picking a movie you knew was full of unexpected jump-scares and suspense, you all settled down after having turned off all the lights. You were still sitting next to Derek. Close enough that if he jumped in his skin you’d feel it. But also close enough that you felt kind of nervous. Knowing his stupid werewolf senses could probably pick up on it, you hoped he’d just think it was from the movie.
About halfway through the movie, you had slouched down, pillow hiding part of your face. You had failed to notice whether or not Derek jumped at the sudden scares. Mostly because you were too busy doing it yourself.
But you’d occasionally look over at him, seeing that he’d have an amused smile on his face or look disinterested. Which more of less told you what you needed to know, so you gave up, focusing on the movie instead.
Derek admitted to himself that the movie was quite intense, but he refused to show any fear. Mostly because he liked annoying you. But his mind was also preoccupied by how close you were, and how you would instinctively hide your face or get closer to him every time you got scared.
By the end of he movie you were exhausted from the pure adrenaline the movie gave you “That wasn’t that bad” Derek commented, his voice closer to your ear than you were expecting. Looking up, you see him staring at you, now meeting your eyes. At this moment you realized that throughout the course of the movie, you had ended up practically on top of him. You also now realized that at some point, he had laid is arm across the back of your shoulders.
You stared silently at him for a moment before speaking quietly “How did that not scare you at all?”
Smiling lightly at you, your heart skipped a beat. “I was distracted”
Knowing his comment was directed at the fact that you were practically in his lap now, you hesitated to speak. Luckily being distracted by the fact that Lydia flipped on the lights.
You, Scott and Stiles all let out startled groans as you hid your eyes from the sudden harsh light. Hearing Derek chuckle from next to you, you didn’t look at him as you felt him get up from beside you, even as you felt his hand grip your waist for a second as he did so.
The One time I succeeded
Entering a small cleared out space in the woods you looked around, Derek stopped, looking at some tracks on the ground. It was the evening before Halloween, and you and Derek were in the woods, the others in the pack were split up around town. Some form of Supernatural creature showed up in town and you were all trying to figure out if it was dangerous. So the pack had split up into groups to try and find it.
Derek stared off towards the direction of the tracks before looking back at you “I’m going to go follow the tracks for a while, see where they end up, you stay here”
“Why?”
He pointed towards the direction of the tracks “The woods are really dense that way, and there’s rocky cliffs”
You nodded your head, knowing you probably wouldn’t be able to keep up “So I’ll stay here then?”
He nodded as he stood, taking one last look at you as he followed the tracks, noting in his mind where you were, and how dark the sky was getting.
After a few moments of looking around, you noted some claw marks on a nearby tree. Touching them, you wondered if the creature caused them. Looking towards the direction that Derek went, you hoped he would be careful.
Not long passed before you started to get antsy, not just because Derek hadn’t returned, or the fact that evening was coming quickly, but also because you really needed to pee. Looking into the woods for Derek for a moment, you groaned in frustration before deciding to find a bushy area you could have some privacy in.
As Derek made his way back to where you were, having found nothing, he stopped, his hearing picking up on the distant sound of something big running nearby, not too far from where you were waiting. Realizing this, he began running back to you, not wanting you to get ambushed.
As you finished your ‘business’ you began walking back to where you had been waiting for Derek, having wondered off quite a ways to find some dense brush. Suddenly hearing something running you stopped, your breath hitching in your throat. Moving to hide behind a tree, your hand gripped the weapon you had holstered at your hip. Your only form of protection.
Looking towards the sound of the noise, you heart jumped in your chest as you realize what it is, feeling a mixture of fear and relief. It was a large Californian Grizzly Bear.
You remained quiet as it ran past, not wanting to draw it’s attention. You wondered just where it was running too, or rather, what it was running from. Waiting for a few more moments you began your way back to the clearing.
As Derek broke through the brush into the clearing his heart sank when he saw you were gone. He could still smell your scent which meant you had been here recently. His heart was pumping loudly in his own body, he struggled to focus on his hearing to listen for you nearby. Trying to catch his breath he looked around, for any movement, especially in the direction of the running he heard before.
Entering the clearing, you saw Derek, looking off into the trees, you could tell he had been running. You wondered if he had been chasing something, maybe the bear? Walking up behind him you watched where he was looking.
Just as he began to turn towards you, you called out his name “Derek?”
With the sudden voice, and failure for Derek to sense you, he spun around, shock evident on his face as you startled him. You jumped back slightly due to his reaction, pausing for a moment ‘Did I just scare him?’
He sighed out before he took a step towards you “Where were you?” he asked, voice relieved and exasperated.
You pointed back behind you “I had to pee, hold on - “ you pointed at him “I just scared you”
He ignored your comment “You need to be careful, there was something big-”
“A bear” you cut him off, seeing his confusion you pointed in the direction of where the bear went “Big brown bear, ran off that way, I saw it” Derek sighed in relief, watching as you smiled, pointing at him “I scared you”
Derek, realizing what you were saying, and that you were right rolled his eyes “That doesn’t count” he turned away “Let’s go, there’s nothing here”
“Oh no Derek, you can’t just push it aside, I jump-scared you! That counts!”
He turned back to you “The only reason I was scared was because I was worried about you getting hurt, I thought that bear was a monster and that it got to you” he answered honestly, somewhat surprised at his own words.
You hesitated “Oh. So. That’s what scares you? Me getting hurt?”
“Loosing you” he corrected as he adjusted his stance as he stared at you for a moment “It’s the only thing that scares me”
Turning he began walking, trying to ignore the fact that he more-or-less just confessed to you.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you remained frozen in your spot for a moment, before you moved to catch up with him. “I’m still going to tell the others that I scared you!” you called out.
Derek stopped in his tracks, knowing you were trying to make it less awkward for him. Turning back to you, he sees the smile on your face as you stop moving as well. Walking up to you he stared into your eyes “As long as you don’t tell them what else I said”
You smiled at the softness in his voice, somewhat mesmerized by the way he was staring at you “Deal” you said.
He smiled, his eyes glancing down to your lips momentarily before he took a step away looking back at you “Come on, it’s getting dark”
You smiled as you walked after him, amused that you finally scared him, surprised that you found his weak spot; and flattered by the fact that his weak spot was you.

Hi! May I request a imagine with Derek Hale? 💖 I’d love to read something with Derek, where the reader is Scott’s little sister. Peter gave her the bite and she doesn’t know what to do because she’s afraid of telling Scott. So she goes in the woods, searching for Derek, for ask him help. The truth is that she goes to Derek because she really like him, or maybe something more, but he doesn’t know. If you ok with this I’ll let you do the rest
When I came to, I felt… strange. Different.
I sat up, being extremely aware of my surroundings. The crescent moon in the night sky seemed to shine brighter. The very air felt heavier with energy, one that I couldn’t detect before. The scents around me smelled stronger, like the dew that accumulated from the rain.
Confused about when it had rained, I looked to the ground. The dry leaves underneath me were now damp. I myself was soaked to the bone, my clothes were completely wet and my hair stuck to my face and neck. I was shaking from head to toe, but I couldn’t tell if it was because I was cold or not.
Making an effort to remember what happened, I mentally went through the latest events. I knew I shouldn’t have been wandering alone in the middle of the woods, but I needed to clear my head and I had lost track of time before it got dark.
My brother Scott had just told me about the supernatural, about werewolves. Stiles, who had insisted on being there when I learned about it, hadn’t been the best person to have around. I knew he was trying to help, but his comments about these creatures only managed to overwhelm me.
After that, I left home to take a walk as Scott’s words echoed in my mind.
‘I’m a werewolf, Y/N’
‘You need to know about this’
‘Be careful, it’s very dangerous’
‘You need to be prepared to defend yourself’
Defend myself? Weren’t werewolves just people who shifted with the full moon? As long as I was careful enough not to run into one of them while they couldn’t control themselves, why did I need to defend myself? The glance that Scott and Stiles exchanged then didn’t help to ease my anxiety either. They looked worried, alert, like they knew something that I didn’t. Almost like they feared that werewolves would deliberately hurt me…
I had subconsciously walked to the woods, probably because deep down I wanted to see Derek. Even before Scott told me Derek was a werewolf too, I had been always… interested in him. I... had a big crush on him.
But then, as I immersed myself in the woods, it happened. The sound of of dry leaves crunching startled me. A movement caught my eye, but when I turned to it I saw nothing but the trunk of the trees. Then a growl, an animal like one, and after that…
I shut my eyes tight, cringing at the memory. I jumped up in fear when I evoked the moment in which something lunged at me and bit me. My heart began beating faster as I slowly rolled up my sleeve to check if it was real.
It suddenly felt really hard to breathe when I spotted the bite marks in the inside of my forearm. The blood once pouring from it was now dry and stuck to my skin. I sobbed when I vividly remembered the lacerating pain, the loud scream that tore my throat and the sheer terror I felt.
Everything that happened after was hazy, and I could only remember stumbling across the woods like I was in the middle of a feverish dream. I think I got lost, and just when I was losing hope to find my way back home, I started feeling really sick. That was all I could remember. I probably fainted, I must have been out cold for hours.
My fingers shook as I shoved my hand in my pocket and grabbed my phone. I had five missed calls from Scott and two from Stiles. I tapped the notification, but before I could do it again to dial Scott’s phone, I thought twice.
I couldn’t tell my brother about this! I had been reckless, and he had just told me that I should be careful. Even knowing about the werewolves, I had mindlessly walked around alone. What would he say when I told him what happened? I… I just couldn’t face him!
“D-Derek?!” I called out, hoping he could save me. “Derek!!!”
I hoped that, being close to his house, he would be around. Hear me and come get me, help me through this nightmare. But no answer came.
Everything became blurry when the tears welled up in my eyes. I began trudging through the woods, even if it felt like I was losing control. The only sounds I could hear were the thumping of my heart against my ears, my loud erratic breathing and my footsteps against the damp leaves on the ground.
Realizing I still carried my phone, I trialed dialing Derek’s phone. I needed him, he was the only one who could help me now. He always made me feel so safe, he was so big and strong. I… I needed Derek!
With every tone of the call, my heart only seemed to race more. After several seconds, the call cut itself. Derek didn’t answer, so I dialed his number again. As I waited, a tightness arrived to my chest, making me feel like I could pass out again.
The tones stopped and were replaced with a deep voice at the other end of the line.
“Y/N?” Derek worriedly asked. “What’s wrong? Scott called me, he said you ran away. Are you okay?”
“N-No! It attacked me and I… I don’t know what happened… I don’t know what to do, I was trying to find you because I needed to get away, and Scott… and suddenly-“
“Slow down, I can’t understand you”
“D-Derek, I…” I was interrupted by another sob, no matter how hard I tried to contain myself. “Help, I… P-P-Please…”
“Where are you?” He replied with a newfound alarm in his voice.
It took me a moment to reply as I focused on evening out my breaths and stopping my sobbing. Even then, I couldn’t speak clearly.
“W-Woods…” I gasped, falling to the ground when my knees buckled. “I…”
“I’ll call Scott, he-“
“No! Y-You”
“Y/N, he’s your older brother, and he’s worried sick”
“You!” I insisted, only wanting him. “P-Please, D-Derek, you…”
A brief silence occupied his end of the line, followed by a resigned grunt.
“Don’t move, I’m on my way” He suddenly sounded out of breath, like he was running. “What happened? Are you hurt?”
I didn’t know how to answer that question. Was I hurt? I couldn’t tell. All I knew was that I was scared out of my mind and I wanted him with me to make me feel safe.
“H-Hurry” Was all I managed to say instead between sobs.
“Talk to me!” Derek urged me. “Are you in danger?”
I opened my mouth to reply but didn’t utter any words. When I didn’t reply, his voice came to me again, but it was suddenly cut off.
“Stay on the li-”
“Derek?” I looked at my screen, only to see it was black. The battery died.
I threw my phone to the ground and curled over myself as I waited for him to come get me.
*
Hugging myself and burying my head in my knees, I rocked backed and forth as I bawled my eyes out. What if Derek never came, what if no one could find me? I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t know what would happen to me. I couldn’t make sense out of anything, I could only focus on my heartbeat as it maintained that frantic rhythm.
“Y/N!!” I looked up in relief as I recognized Derek’s voice calling my name. Maybe my heartbeat had given me away, or he could smell my fear.
I tried to reply, but I couldn’t find my voice. I couldn’t even find the strength to stand to my feet, feeling utterly defenseless.
Soon after, I heard him coming my way and my heart seemed to finally calm at the sight of Derek Hale. When he spotted me, he didn’t lose a second to meet with me and kneel down next to me.
“What the hell happened?” His piercing green eyes looked me up and down.
“I… Got lost…” I gulped, choking the words out. “And… And then… it… I…”
“Okay, breathe” Derek watched me carefully, noticing I was close to hyperventilating. “Take it easy, you’re safe now”
I nodded, still shaking like a leaf. He must have realized this too, because he took his leather jacket off and put it over my shoulders.
“You’re all wet…” His fingers gingerly brushed against my hair. “Were you out all night, in the rain?”
I was shaking so badly that it felt like I didn’t have any control over my body. My teeth had started to chatter and it was hard to focus on anything else.
“Okay” Derek wrapped his arms around me, leaning me against his torso to provide me with some body warmth as well as some comfort. “Calm down, okay? Breathe”
I managed a nod, trying to breathe like he told me to. I took a deep breath, then exhaling and feeling like I slightly calmed down. It didn’t help with the cold, but Derek’s leather jacket and body warmth were already working on that.
When I stopped shaking at last after a few seconds next to the warmth he exuded, perhaps for being a werewolf, I heaved a sigh. I was utterly exhausted.
“Scott told you, didn’t he?” He asked me, probably talking about the supernatural occurrences in Beacon Hills. “He told you everything”
I didn’t reply, I didn’t even look at him. I felt defeated, moving on from fear to exhaustion.
“I need to know what happened” His voice was grave but serene. “Can you tell me?”
I vehemently shook my head, letting him know that I couldn’t speak. Neither did I want to, I found that I wasn’t ready to tell him yet. All I wanted was for him to keep holding me like that and never leave my side.
“A-Are you hurt?” He insisted, softly tightening the embrace.
I still didn’t know what to say to that, so I only lifted my arm up. Derek tensed up against me as his fingers wrapped around my wrist and he took a better look at the bite mark in my skin.
“I need to take you home” He resolved, wrapping both arms around my waist and pulling the both of us up. “You need to go back to Scott”
“B-But Scott…!” I muttered, shaking again just when I realized I had stopped.
“Look, I know you’re scared” When I looked up, I met with his intense gaze. “And I know you don’t want to see him right now, but he’s your brother”
I just nodded, feebly leaning against him. My legs barely supported my weight.
“Can you stand? Can you walk?” Derek asked me, to which I shook my head.
He easily scooped me up into his arms, gently leaning me against him. I closed my eyes as he carried me away from the woods, too exhausted to care about anything. I still wasn’t ready to face Scott, but Derek’s presence was comforting enough to make me feel a little more capable of it. He would get me home and together we’d figure it out.
“It’s okay, everything’s okay” His arms seemed to bring me even closer to his torso. “You hear me?”
“Y-Yeah…” I wondered if he could sense all the emotions I was going through, because I couldn’t quite pinpoint them myself. “Derek?”
“Yeah?” He breathed out with his quick jog.
“S-Stay?” I only asked him, weakly holding on to him as I bounced on his arms.
“Don’t worry, Y/N” To my surprise, he dedicated me a small comforting smile. “I won’t leave your side, even when you’re back with Scott”
For the first time in hours I managed to breathe properly. While I let him carry me back home, I nodded again as a thank you for his words.
Maybe Derek knew about my feelings for him and felt protective of me. Maybe it was because I was Scott’s little sister. Whatever the case, he was willing to stay with me, and that was all the comfort I needed at the moment.

Request: “[Scary Movies] with Isaac Lahey?”
Pairing: Isaac Lahey x Reader
Synopsis: The reader convinces Isaac to watch scary movies with them, and drudges up past fears for Isaac.
Word Count: 1,024
Warning: Slight mention of abuse. ((Mild, mild spoilers of the movie IT. Just about the first scene.))
You settled onto the couch with a big smile on your face. You snuggled up against Isaac’s chest as the previews started to play on your tv. You took Isaac’s hand in your own and smiled up at him. However, he didn’t match your smile.
“You’ve seen the original, haven’t you?”
“No,” Isaac said, pulling the decorative pillow from your couch into his lap.
“Oh.” Isaac nodded and you put your head on his chest, frowning. “It’s not that scary.”
“I don’t like clowns, Y/N,” he said.
“Then keep holding my hand,” you said as the music started to play, and the rainy scene appeared on the screen. Isaac clenched up noticeably and you moved yourself so that your arms were wrapped around his waist. His hand was still clenched on yours.
“No, no, no,” Isaac muttered as Georgie started to run down the street. Even though Isaac had never seen the original, or the remake, everyone knew what was going to happen in the first few scenes of IT.
“It’ll be okay,” you whispered. The moment the clown appeared in the storm drain, Isaac cringed and sunk back into the couch. You laughed softly and held him closer.
That night, Isaac woke up in bed, sweat dripping down his back. You were still asleep next to him, and he didn’t want to worry you, so he gently crawled out of bed. You moved slightly, but remained sleeping.
He made his way into the kitchen, thinking that a glass of water would be the thing to calm him down. However, he jumped again when he thought he saw a pair of glowing red eyes. But when he looked again, what he really saw was the soft lights of the coffee pot. He told himself to pull it together, and poured his glass of water.
Another sound from down the hall made him drop the cup into the sink, and luckily it didn’t break.
“Come on, Lahey,” he told himself. If there really was a demonic clown in your apartment, he could just transform and fight it. However, he knew that if the clown was here, he wouldn’t exactly look like a clown, and in that case, he wasn’t sure he could fight it. In fact, he had a pretty good idea that if the clown were to appear, it would look more like his father than a clown.
Just thinking about his father made his hands start to ache, meaning that his claws were fighting to stretch out of his fingers. He couldn’t see, but he knew that his eyes were glowing a soft yellow. He heard another sound, and determined to fight on whatever it may be, he started walking down the hallway.
He tried not to think of his father, and instead thought of you, and the fact that whatever was in the house would go for you first. As he reached the door to your shared bedroom, his claws were fully out and he could feel hair growing out of his face. He kicked open the door ready to fight, and heard a scream.
“Isaac! It’s me!” He pulled back and saw you standing in the doorway in your pajamas, fear in your eyes. He let out a breath and immediately recoiled his claws and hair. You were looking at him nervously, and that made Isaac feel even worse.
“I’m- I’m so sorry,” he managed to say, before walking back out to the living room. He flopped down on the couch and dropped his face in his hands. He couldn’t believe himself. He let his fear get the best of him, and in the process almost physically hurt you, and was sure that he emotionally did, too. Isaac never wanted you to feel like you had to be fearful of him.
“Isaac?” He turned back at the soft voice and saw you standing a few feet away, a robe wrapped around your waist.
“I’m sorry,” he said again. You smiled at him and came around, sitting down on the couch next to him.
“You don’t have to be sorry. I’m just worried about you. When I woke up and you weren’t there I thought that I may have scared you. Or that the movie might have.” He blushed and nodded abashedly. You took his hand and scooted closer to him.
“I’m sorry I’m such a dork.”
“You’re not,” you said, “And you don’t have to keep saying sorry. I shouldn’t have shown you the movie after you told me that you didn’t like clowns. And it’s quite terrifying how it can turn into anything. I wasn’t thinking.”
“It’s not your fault,” Isaac said. You frowned and leaned in to kiss him softly.
“He’s not going to come back, Isaac,” you said after a moment. Isaac started to say who, but then stopped.
“I know.”
“You don’t have to be afraid with me. You don’t even have to be afraid to be afraid with me. I’m here for you, no matter what.”
“I had a bad dream, and then I let my thoughts get the best of me. I didn’t want to wake you.”
“You should have.”
“Probably,” he said, laughing softly. “I’m okay, now. You can go to bed.”
“Are you going to come with me?” you asked. He shook his head. “Well then I’m not going anywhere.”
“Y/N-”
“Don’t argue with me. We don’t have to go to bed, but do you want to get in bed with me?” you asked. Isaac smiled and nodded. You kissed him again and stood up, holding out your hand. He took it and let you lead him back into your bedroom. As he passed the kitchen, he saw the glowing eyes of the coffee pot again, but didn’t feel scared with your hand in his. He dropped down on the bed next to you and put his arms over your waist, looking down at you.
“I love you,” he said, playing with a strand of your hair. You grabbed onto his shirt and pulled him close, just an inch from your face.
“I love you,” you said, before pulling him into your lips.
A/N: So this has been in my requests for absolutely ages but I liked the request and thought i’d get back into writing before working on Hunted pt 4- So enjoy and feel free to leave a request and feedback!
Requested by anonymous: Can I have a Derek x reader where the reader is in love with him and she's a badass, and saves his ass a few more times than he's saved hers, the pack can literally SMELL the love/sexual tension/ whatever. (Not just the werewolves, stiles too). And they try to put them together
“You look like you could use some help?” You smirked, cocking your gun and aiming towards the alpha pack before glancing down at the man you had figured out to be Derek Hale as he sat slumped against the wall.
“Nice of you to finally join us” You heard Chris Argent shout with a grunt as he struggled to reload his gun.
That had been the first time you’d met Derek and the pack- after being introduced by fellow hunter Chris Argent. You often found your mind wandering to that moment- the first, of many times that you’d saved Derek Hale.
You were currently sat staring out of the window in Derek’s loft, waiting for him to return with food after staying up late trying to help him come up with a plan for the latest supernatural threat.
“Y/N?” You heard Peter say from the door way “What are you doing here?” He asked
“I’m helping Derek” You said before returning your gaze back to the window
“Of course you are” Peter replied and you could practically here the smirk in his voice
“Not like that” You quipped, shooting him a glare
“Whatever you say” He mumbled with a grin before the door slid open again and Derek burst through with a bag of takeout food in his hand
“Is he bothering you?” Derek asked, his eyes fixed harshly on Peter
“Its fine” You reassured him with a slight smile “Let’s eat?” You motioned to the table
“Don’t mind if I join?” Peter smirked waltzing over to the table, much to his nephew’s annoyance
“So you staying the night Y/N?” Peter asked, a look of fake innocence on his face
“I hadn’t planned to” You shot back, knowing exactly what Peter was trying to insinuate
“Well I’m sure Derek wouldn’t mind” Peter said earning a deathly glare from Derek himself “and if not there’s always a space in my room” He smirked
“If you don’t mind, I’ll pass on that offer” You smiled sarcastically
“Suit yourself” He shrugged “Y/N do you mind grabbing something to drink from the kitchen?” Peter asked, with a hint of urgency in his voice
Shrugging, you clambered out of your seat and headed for the kitchen
“Tonight Derek” Peter whispered
“Tonight what?” Derek asked in confusion
“Tonight you have to make a move!” Peter explained “Because at the moment I’m doing the flirting- not you”
“Shut up Peter” Derek growled before the both abruptly turned back to their food as you returned with a jug of water and 3 glasses
After you’d finished eating, Peter excused himself but not before making another crude comment about you and Derek, to which you’d rolled your eyes like usual.
“We’ve got to stop meeting like this” You grinned, extending your hand out to help Derek up
“What are you doing here?” He asked, getting up on his own
“Charming” You huffed “Allison called me”
“We don’t need your help” Derek said gruffly
“Sure looks like you do” You quipped “But suit yourself” You said strutting off to help the others, leaving Derek to sulk by himself
“Y/N?” Derek shouted, snapping out of your daydream as you sat on his couch, feet stretched out across his lap
“Sorry” You mumbled, eyes flickering over to him as he smiled shyly at you
“So what were you daydreaming about this time?” He smirked
“Nothing” You lied with a smile- not wanting him to know you were once again, thinking about him
“You know I can hear your heartbeat” Derek informed you “I know when you’re lying”
“Of course you do” You sighed with a smile “Anyway it’s pretty late I should probably get going” You said swinging your feet off his lap and standing up
“Oh ok” Derek mumbled disappointedly “Goodnight”
“Night” You muttered before leaving the loft
“And why have we been summoned today?” You asked sliding the loft door shut behind you as you saw the pack obediently gathered around the large table in front of the window.
“Nice to see you too Y/N” Stiles smiled “But you’re late, again”
“Well Stiles, some of us have lives” You quipped before standing at the end of table, opposite Derek.
“Actually she didn’t leave till late last night” Peter chimed in “So she was probably catching up on sleep” He smirked
“Oh” Lydia smiled “She stayed here late” She smirked
“About time” Stiles replied
“Knock it off” You said with an eye roll before heading into the kitchen to grab a glass of water and avoid their smirks
“I’m sorry about them” Derek said leant against the counter solemn smile
“God!” You exclaimed, clutching your heart “Don’t sneak up on people like that!” You laughed lightly
“Sorry” He smiled shyly, staring at you intensely through his green eyes
“Wow you could cut the sexual tension in here with a knife” Peter said from the door frame
“Shut up Peter” Derek snarled, evidently annoyed and simultaneously embarrassed at being called out by his uncle
“Well I’ll leave you two to it” He smirked leaving you and Derek alone in the kitchen
“Turns out we didn’t need a pack meeting after all” Scott smiled from the door way
“Yeah we’ll be leaving now” Stiles interjected “Have fun you two! Stay safe!” He shouted as him and the others vacated the apartment
“Anyone would think they’re trying to set us up” You smirked taking a step to close the gap between you and the tall werewolf in front of you and with a small surge of courage you said “Maybe we should have some fun” before pulling his face down towards yours and closing the gap completely
“And I think you owe me anyway from saving your ass so many times” You smirked when you pulled away
“Don’t push your luck, this has been a long time coming” He grinned before pulling you in for another kiss
Imagine being in a relationship with Derek, but Peter likes you more than a friend, and try’s to break you and Derek up.
“What are you doing?” you asked, your heart beating faster, as Peter moved closer to you.
“You are truly beautiful.” Peter cooed, tilting his head, as he looked at you in awe.
“Thanks.” you mumbled, feeling uneasy. why was he looking at you, like that? you thought to yourself.
Peter let out a small moan, cupping your cheeks, his lips touching yours passionately. you quickly pushed him off of you, making him smirk.
“What is wrong with you? I’m with Derek, who happens to be your nephew.” You shouted.
“So..” Peter growled, pressing his lips against yours again. Only to hear a growl.
You quickly pulled away, turning to face the door.your heart throbbed, as you looked at Derek.
“Derek, this isn’t what it looks like, I can explain.” You pleaded as he walked closer.
“Exactly, what it looks like.” Peter smirked, satisfied with himself, Derek let out a growl walking closer, he quickly pushed you aside, making you fall hard on the ground.
you let out a whimper as you heard Peter and Derek attack each other.
How could you do this? how could you let Peter kiss you like that?
Admittedly, camping was not on the top of your list of fun things to do during the weekend. But camping with Stiles, who was so enthusiastic about taking you camping like he used to do with his dad, was a completely different story. With all the supernatural chaos that was constantly taking up all your free time, left and right, it was a very rare chance you were able to take a weekend off. So rare, in fact, that you had no idea how to spend said weekend. That was when your best friend had come to you with the idea of going camping with him.
It was usually something he’d do with his dad, but Sheriff Stilinski had some work that had to get done so the invitation was extended upon you. You were reluctant to go at first, but you just couldn’t turn down spending some quality time with your best friend.
The drive wasn’t too long, maybe a half hour or so, and you had spent the whole day laughing and having fun. You went on a hike, went swimming in the lake, and Stiles even taught you how to fish. The whole time there was something different about the dynamic of your relationship, something new. It was rare that you ever got to spend time alone with Stiles, just the two of you, and it sparked this entirely new feeling inside of you. You knew he could feel it too, every time you would make eye contact for too long or brush against each other there seemed to be this awkwardness that filled the air that you both had never felt with each other before. But you brushed it off in order to enjoy your trip.
“Stiles,” you whispered. You were laying in sleeping bags beneath the stars now, trying to sleep. Key word: trying. “Stiles,” you whispered again, this time a little louder.
He didn’t open his eyes or say anything, he simply let out a small hum of acknowledgement.
“I’m cold, do we have any more blankets?” He sat up, eyes barely even open, and pulled his flannel off. He tossed it at you and lied back down without saying a word, too tired to form any sentences. You smiled as you shrugged the shirt on, it was warm from his body heat and had his familiar smell worn into it.
“Thanks,” you whispered. You lied back down to hopefully get some sleep now, but it couldn’t have been five minutes before your eyes were open again. You had felt something wet drop onto your cheek. Thinking maybe you had just imagined it you tried to ignore it, but the second time it happened you knew it was real.
“Stiles,” you mumbled. No answer. You felt another rain drop. “Stiles, wake up,” you said, shaking his arm now.
“What do you want (Y/N),” he groaned.
“It’s raining,” you told him.
“What?” he opened his eyes to look at you now.
“It’s raining,” you repeated.
“I looked at the weather before we left, there’s no way it’s raining. Go back to sleep.” You huffed as he rolled onto his side, facing away from you. It didn’t take long for the rain to start coming down harder and soon it was pouring and you were getting drenched. You both scrambled out of the sleeping bags and towards Stiles’ jeep, desperate for shelter.
You couldn’t help but laugh and squeal as you ran through the rain, his hand holding yours as he led the way. He tried pulling open the car door but it wouldn’t budge, he had locked it when you got there. He patted around his pants pockets, searching for the keys.
“Stiles, hurry!”
“I’m trying, I can’t find my keys!” He looked at you, his flannel shirt hanging loosely over your body. “I think they’re in my shirt pocket!” You reached in and, sure enough, found his keys rather quickly. You scrambled to give them to him, shoving them at him, but he dropped them.
“Stiles,” you yelled through your laughter. After Stiles picked up his keys he turned to look at you and you seemed to freeze.
You were both completely soaked, his shirt was clinging to his body, his hair was matted to his forehead, and there were droplets of water scattered on his face, not unlike his many moles and freckles. His eyes were trained on yours, while you couldn’t help but let yours wander down to his lips. It didn’t take long for you both to lean in, lips crashing together almost desperately as your arms slipped up behind his neck and his hands grasped at your waist.
It was as if in this moment it finally became clear how much you needed each other, more than just as friends. It was never something you thought about before, but now it was like the only thing that made sense.
The kiss was stopped short by a loud crack of thunder booming above you. You broke apart, remembering the situation you were in and Stiles finally jammed his keys into the lock and opened the door, allowing you both to slip into safety. You were both a giggling mess when Stiles slammed the door shut, collapsing back into the seats and leaning against each other.
“Well that was fun,” Stiles said sarcastically. You snorted with laughter as you now laid against his side. He wrapped his arm around you and got comfy, not knowing how long you’d have to wait out this storm for.
“Are we gonna talk about it?” You asked after a moment of silence.
“Talk about what?”
“You know what I’m talking about,” you said. “Was it… a good thing?”
“Yeah… I mean, it was to me. Was it a good thing to you?”
“Yeah, it was a good thing.”
“Good,” he said. You weren’t looking at him, but you knew that he was smiling.
“But if you take me camping for our first date I will slap you.” Stiles laughed and squeezed you tighter, then placed a kiss on the top of your head before you both were finally able to fall asleep.

Derek watched Lydia run around the loft, checking things off of her list “Tell me again why this party has to take place here?” he didn’t even try to mask the annoyance in his voice.
Lydia took a few steps closer to him while staring pointedly at him “Because Derek, it’s the only place that will fit everyone. Plus, you owe me.”
“For what?” he challenged
She hesitated “A lot” quickly spinning around she continued with her list, leaving Derek to sigh in annoyance.
Lydia quickly turned around again, panic in her eyes. Derek straightened up “What’s wrong?”
“Where are the goodie bags?”
Before Derek could roll his eyes, your voice came from behind him, causing him to turn around “By the stairs Lydia”
Derek eyed you, having not heard you enter back into the loft, his eyes raked over your figure as you walked closer to them.
“Oh thank God” Lydia sighed in relief as she walked over to the box against the wall, filled with a number of Christmas themed bags.
You stopped next to Derek as you threw a heavy bag onto the couch “How’s it going?”
Derek eyed you, seeing you were talking to him “How should I know? I’ve just watched her run around like a chicken with it’s head cut off”
“Hey” Lydia turned and glared at him “I wouldn’t be so stressed if you’d help”
“Why would I help? You are taking over my home without my permission” Derek’s voice grew more annoyed.
“I’d hardly call this a home” she retorted.
“Why are you having it here Lydia? Isn’t your house big enough?” You butted in, before Derek could respond to her comment.
Lydia’s gaze fell to you “Y/n you’re supposed to be on my side!”
“It’s just a question Lydia” you chuckled.
Lydia sighed, crossing her arms “My mom would only let me have the party if there were multiple chaperones, which is lame, so I told her I changed my mind, and instead I am hanging out with you guys at the movies. Now” she moved on “Did you bring the sweaters?”
“Sweaters?” Derek asked
You walked over to the bag you had thrown down, opening it up and pulling one out. Derek cringed at the bright red and green stripes, the words ‘Merry Christmas’ made out of gold tinsel glued onto the front, glittery why snowflakes placed in random places. “Done and Done”.
“That’s the ugliest sweater I’ve ever seen” Derek admitted.
You turned to him with a smile that made his heart skip “Thank you”
Derek rose his brow “Don’t tell me you made that”
You nodded your head, proud smile present “It’s an ugly Christmas sweater party Derek” Lydia said as she pulled another sweater out, which appeared worse that the first. Green with red bows glued to it in various spots, a cock-eyed reindeer glued to the shoulder, ‘ho-ho-ho’ on the back in red.
Derek’s eyes widened slightly “I take it back. THAT is the ugliest sweater I’ve ever seen”
You giggled as you began to pull out more sweaters, Derek eyed the various colors and use of glitter. Derek had to force himself not to smile at your enthusiasm, though, his focused gaze on you did not go unnoticed by Lydia.
Lydia clapped her hands and smiled “Okay, so after we put up all the lights, set up the food and drinks, get the music ready and put the sweaters out front, we are ready!”
“Is that all?” Derek mocked, noticing the smile that briefly fell across your face at his comment.
“Don’t worry Derek, now that I have Y/n, you can leave”
“Will do” he muttered before walking out of the loft, sparing a glance back at you as you reached for a bag of Christmas lights.
-
When Derek came back he paused outside of this loft, the loud Christmas music echoing, as people inside and outside of the loft laughed and spoke to each other. All of them wearing various ugly sweaters. Some of which he recognized as your handy work, which made him smile. His eyes landed on a large sign, written in Lydias handwriting ‘Ugly Sweaters Required’.
Coming back to reality he sighed as he made his way into his loft, pushing past a number of drunk teens. He admired all the lights and decorations, wondering how long it took you to put them up, and how many times Lydia made you re-do it, to make it “perfect”.
As made his way to the stairs he looked across the loft, seeing you standing with Scott in the corner as you poured him some punch. His gaze fell to your sweater, it was a metallic silver, with various tinsel and round ornaments glued to it. He chuckled to himself as he made his way upstairs to his room.
As you laughed with Scott, your gaze fell onto Derek, as he went up the stairs to his room. A feeling of guilt passed through you. You knew he just wanted a quiet night alone, as per usual, but now he had to deal with this. You eyes fell over to your bag in the corner, the feeling of guilt being replaced with nervousness.
Derek sat on his bed, trying to ignore the Christmas music and the noise of pre-pubescent teens shouting drunkenly from downstairs. He began to read a book, but could barely focus on the words, absent-mindedly turning the page every now and again. His mind kept wandering to various things, but would often return to you.
You were the gentlest person he knew, not to mention the kindest and most caring. But when it was required, you could be very dangerous. He only ever saw this side of you when your friends were in trouble though. You even managed to save him a couple times. Though, the amount of times he ended up saving you outnumbered that. He was protective over you, but he doubted that you noticed, or at least hoped that you didn’t. Though he wasn’t sure why.
His thoughts were interrupted when there was a soft knock on his door. Before he could respond in annoyance, to who he thought was a drunk teen trying to find the bathroom. The door slid open, and your head popped in.
Derek’s mouth closed as he sat up slightly. You smiled shyly at him as you entered his room, closing the door quietly behind you.
“Is something wrong?” Derek asked as he stood up.
“No” you responded quickly “I just wanted to..” you hesitated “Apologize”
He frowned “For what?” he took a few steps closer, as he looked down at you, not noticing your nervousness, as he was distracted by his own.
“Lydia” you finished as he smiled gently “I know you hate when she takes over your...home” you finished while looking around his bare room.
He looked around too “I know it’s not much of one”
You smiled at him, shrugging your shoulder “Maybe if you got some plants?” Or a Christmas tree?
He chuckled at your comment which caught you off guard, but you responded with a smile before glancing down at your feet briefly before pulling a bag out from behind your back he hadn’t noticed. “Anyway, uh, Lydia saw you come in and was complaining that you were...’ruining the mood of the party’” you recited her comment “And she was determined to make you stay up here until you had a sweater” you looked at Derek who’s eyebrows were raised as he glanced at the bag in your hand “I told her I’d deal with it”
“I’m not wearing an ugly sweater”
You chuckled “I knew you’d say that, so I thought we could compromise” you pulled out the sweater from the bag, unfolding it. He eyed it in confusion. It wasn’t the best sweater, but it certainly wasn’t ugly. It was a classic blue and red striped sweater with reindeer and snowflake silhouettes on it. He reached out and took it, his hands brushing yours. The fabric was thick and soft “The compromise being, you wear this if you go downstairs, or if Lydia comes up here. She will be annoyed it isn’t a very ugly sweater, but will admit that you are still wearing one. So, you don’t have to wear one of my abominations, and I don’t have to deal with her complaints that you completely ruined the mood of the party” you looked up into his eyes “Fair?”
He smiled at you “Fair” he took a step back as he began to put on the sweater, it fitting him perfectly. He glanced down at it before looking at you.
You smiled at him in approval as you nodded “Okay, I’ll leave you to continue reading” you said suddenly before turning to leave.
“Hey” You turned back to him “You had this with you already?” you nodded “Why?”
Bringing your hands together, you fiddled with your fingers “I made everyone else their sweaters, I didn’t want to leave you out. Even if you ended up not wearing it, plus, I knew that Lydia would try to make you wear one”
He glanced down at the sweater “You made this?”
You smiled “I mean, I just bought the fabric as is, and then made it into a sweater, but yeah”
He stared at you for a moment before he smiled “Thank you”
You smiled at him before turning to leave, opening the door, the sound of Christmas music getting louder “Oh, and Y/n” your turned your head again as he smiled “Nice sweater” he glanced down at your shiny sweater.
You smiled and giggled, a little embarrassed, forgetting that you had even been wearing it “Thanks”
-
Derek read his book for another couple hours, well, tried to read. His thoughts were full of you even more than before. He kept the sweater on, finding it to be rather comfortable. Plus, it smelled like you.
Sighing, he closed his book and set it to the side, noticing that the music had stopped completely. When did that happen? Focusing, he could no longer hear various voices or movement. Realizing the party must be over he breathed out in relief as he made his way out of his room.
He stopped on the stairs as he looked around the loft. There were cups and plates with food littered around the room, on tables and couches. A pile of sweaters on the table. He sighed to himself as he wandered towards the kitchen, wondering if Lydia was going to leave him to clean everything up.
The loft door slid open as you came in, no longer wearing your sweater. You hadn’t noticed him until you came further into the room, before your eyes landed on him, he was still wearing the sweater, which made you smile lightly. His eyes fell to the objects in your hands. In one hand, a bag of cleaning supplies and trash-bags, in the other, a small pine tree, real from the smell of it, placed in a little plant pot.
His brow rose as he looked at you, asking a silent question. You smiled as you walked over to him handing him the small tree. He took it gently from you and he smiled, his thoughts going back to your early conversation “A Christmas tree?” he met your eyes as you grinned at him.
“And technically a plant. You can keep it year round. Wait for it to get big enough to have as an actual Christmas tree”
He chuckled lightly as he looked down at the tree “Thank you Y/n” he spoke genuinely, never knowing why you were so kind to him. He looked back up as you moved away from him moving towards the kitchen, reaching into your bag for the box of trash bags “You don’t have to do that Y/n”
You smiled at him quickly “It’s fine, I feel bad just leaving all of this out. Lydia was gonna have us stay behind to clean it, but Scott and Stiles drank a little too much punch, and she decided to take them home. Lydia ended up staying with Stiles so I took the opportunity to send everyone else packing” you chuckled.
Derek watched your for a moment before he set the tree on the table and walked over to you, taking the trash bags and supplies from your hands, and dropping them on the ground.
“Wha-, Derek” before you could finish protesting Derek grabbed you, one hand on your waist, the other on your jaw as he pulled you to him. Pressing a kiss to your lips that took your breath away.
Your hands moved and echoed his own as you leaned into the sudden kiss. As Derek ended the kiss, he pulled your body closer to his. You stared at him for a moment “What was that for?”
He smiled “Everything”
You smiled lightly as him as he glanced back at your lips before gently kissing you again, slowly. Afterwards, he pressed his forehead against yours “I haven’t felt the need to really celebrate Christmas, or any holiday since I lost my family” he confessed, as you stared up at him “Not until you”
“Derek-” he pressed his finger to your lips gently, silencing you.
“Merry Christmas Y/n” he brushed his finger over your lips as he leaned closer, kissing you once again. This time you wrapped your arms around his neck, as he pulled you closer, both of you forgetting about the mess around you, and instead just focusing on each other.

Theme: Started out as angst, turned into kind of scary-sih, and then fluffly. idk, I didn’t have a great idea for this one, and I’m writing it after I just did a 10 page mid-term and I have no motivation lol. Hope you like it anyway.
Note: Not really Halloween themed but whatever, almost none of the one shots in this series are
You stomped through the forest, staring down at the path in front of you, trying to see a sign of the creature anywhere. It had been seen in the forest a day prior, and you needed to find it before it killed anyone else.
Derek walked behind you, listening for any distant movement, his eyes focused on you as you as you easily moved around trees and branches, even without having to raise your head up to look.
You hadn’t said a word to him since you left his loft, Scott paired you up to go together, as he usually did. He might not have though, if he had known of your situation. The fact that you had broken up just a couple days prior.
“You’re still mad at me” he finally spoke, his voice loud amongst the silent trees.
His voice almost startled you, you weren’t really expecting him to speak to you, seeing as he said enough when he ended your relationship. “Am I not allowed to be?” you asked, quieter than his own voice.
He sighed, shoving his hands into his jacket pockets “Of course you are” he paused “I just don’t want you to choose to never speak to me again”
You stopped, looking up a hill, your eyes catching on a piece of fabric hanging from a tree at the top “I guess I’m still thinking about it” you said bluntly as you walked up the hill, Derek spotting the fabric as well.
He sighed again as he followed you, trying to focus on the task at hand. He watched as you touched the fabric “Looks like the boys uniform” you said referring to the most recent boy’s death.
Derek walked past you, at least you were being civil, he was afraid you’d spend the entire time fighting, then again, not fighting might be worse. Maybe it meant you were over it, over him. Then again, wasn’t that what he wanted? He looked around, seeing a trail finally, crouching down he looked at it, before looking deeper into the forest and taking a deep breath, trying to find a scent of the creature.
“You wont smell anything” you commented walking past him “They don’t give off any scent, it’s one of the reasons they are so hard to hunt”
He squinted at you as he stood up “How do you know that?”
“I’m not useless” you said coldly as you walked down the hill, towards the stream, unaware of the shocked face Derek was making behind you.
“What the hell does that mean?” he asked as he tried to catch up to you “Who ever said you were useless?” when you didn’t comment he reached out and grabbed you elbow, stopping you in your tracks “Y/n?”
“You did Derek” seeing his confusion you continued “You didn’t say it outright, but you implied it, you said ‘Maybe I should stick to things I’m good at’“
He was shocked to hear those words come out of your mouth, did he really say that? “I didn’t say that”
“You did Derek” you pulled your arm out of his grip “You said a lot of things during your spiel of why we should break up, and to be frank, it all sounded like bullshit, all you did was blame me”
You continued to walk away as Derek stared after you, whispering to himself “That’s not what I meant to do.”
He began to think back on his words, you were right, nothing he said sounded like he meant it too. He only broke up with you because he hated that you got hurt because of him, he was the only reason you really got involved with the pack in the first place. He thought that if he broke up with you, he wouldn’t be putting you in harms way, because he thought that maybe you would leave the pack all together. ‘You should stick to things your good at’ hearing his own voice say those words in his memory made him hate himself. He didn’t mean it like it sounded, he meant that you should move on, do things that make you happy, outside of the supernatural world. He just wanted you to be safe.
He opened his mouth to speak but at the same time you turned to look at him, he stopped, your intense gaze stopping him in his tracks “Did you hear that?”
Looking around and listening he shook his head, he was too distracted “I didn’t hear anything” You frowned, looking into the trees . Derek walked over to you, looking into the trees as well “What did it sound like?”
“A scream almost” you spoke quietly “But not like it was in pain, more like...a warning?” you questioned it yourself.
Another distant shriek was heard, by the both of you this time. Derek strained his ears to listen, to get a better idea of where it was, he could hear your heart pounding. You were scared. He wanted nothing more than to take your hand in his like he would before, but he couldn’t, not anymore, he made sure of that.
Another shriek, louder, closer. He saw you reach for the gun tucked in your belt. As you did so, a sudden thought came to mind. No matter if you are together or not, you would be in danger. Because you would never leave the pack, not after what you had been through. Why did he think you would? All he did was ruin the best thing he ever had. Idiot.
His thoughts were broken again as yet another shriek was heard, this time much closer than before.
“I think it’s hunting us” you said, your voice quiet.
He reached over, grabbing your arm just above your wrist the two of you circled around, trying to see the creature. The bushes nearby rustled as something ran past “It’s fast” Derek said.
“Too fast” you commented.
This time, the noise it made was so loud it echoed in your ears, causing you to flinch “Where’s the water?!” you yelled out to him.
He looked at you in confusion “What water?”
“Derek! I told you to bring holy water for a reason!”
“I thought you were joking!” he said surprised “It’s not like it’s a vampire!”
“But it was created out of sin, which is why anything holy hurts it!” you retorted as you dug into your bag, searching for something.
Suddenly the creature lunged out of the trees, tall, skinny, pale, with dark black eyes and a tail. Its long arms, tipped with long skinny fingers and sharp nails reached for the two of you. Derek lunged forward intent on protecting you. He growled in warning as he showed his werewolf face and teeth. The creature faltered, hissing in warning.
The creature lunged at Derek tackling him, Derek fought back with his claws, causing the creature to cry out in pain. You gave up on looking in your bag and raised your gun firing at the creature, hitting it twice in the side. It shrieked at you before jumping towards you, you ducked under it as it flew over you. Before you could get up you felt it’s hand grip around your ankle. You turned on your back to fire at it again but it smacked the gun from your hand.
“Y/n!” Derek called as he ran towards you, grabbing your gun as he ran by.
The creature, with your leg still in its grasp dragged you along, into the forest. You yelled in pain as your back drug along the dirt and twigs of the forest floor. Reaching into your bag you managed to find what you were looking for just as Derek shot the creature in the back.
The creature screamed, picking you up and throwing you, causing you to tumble. You groaned, trying to catch your breath after your harsh landing. Looking up you see the creature bounding towards you again. Raising your hand you pressed the iron cross to the creatures face, causing it to burn and scream in agony. Jumping up into the tree above you it jumped to another and another, distancing itself from you.
Derek ran over to you, checking to see if you were okay before looking into your hand, seeing the cross. “A silver cross?” he asked incredulously.
“Iron. But it was blessed by a priest” you comment as he helped you to stand.
You both looked up to the trees, no longer hearing the creature, it had ran. “We need to meet up with Scott and the others, take it down together” Derek said, earning a head nod from you.
He looked back over at you, gently cupping your face, causing you to look at him in surprise “Are you okay?”
You hesitated for a moment, the pain of your break up coming back as you stuttered out “I’m fine” you said before pulling away from him, beginning to walk back the way you came.
“Y/n” he said, grabbing your hand easily pulled you towards him. Spinning, you faced him, shocked when he suddenly kissed you, his hands cupping your face.
When he pulled away you stared at him as he sighed lightly “I don’t want to break up” he paused, but not long enough for you to comment “I decided to break up with you so you could be safe, I wanted you to leave the pack, so you could be happy. I felt like you only ever got hurt because of me, but I realized, maybe a bit too late, that you’d never leave, because you find everyone else more important than your happiness. And no matter what, you will be in danger, and it’s better that I am there to help you, not distract you”
You stared up at him as he spoke, realizing all the hidden meanings behind what he had said a few days before. You should have known it would take him longer to say what he actually meant. “You’re right, I wont leave”
He nodded “Yeah, I know. And...and I don’t want you to” he inched closer, his hand cupping your chin “I’m sorry Y/n. I don’t want this to be over”
You smiled at him “It’s not, Derek” he returned the smile as he leaned down to kiss you again as his arms wrapped around you.
