So I'm working on an art piece for a local gallery Halloween display. It's a collage piece inspired by cannibalism and prion diseases. It will feature a cannibal sitting at a table covered with brains and organs.

The deadline for submitting an entry is the end of the month, and I could use some help with the name. I have narrowed it down to two options. "Waste Not" or "Feeding Hazard." I really like both and can't decide which one I want to use.

The name Waste Not comes from the ideal of not wasting food, and the word Not is crossed out because of Chronic Wasting Disease, a prion disease seen in deer. The idea here is that, while you are not wasting any meat, the meat is causing you and your mind to waste away.

I think Feeding Hazard is pretty straight forward. By feeding on human flesh, you are exposing your body to hazardous material and conditions.

So...

Which name should I choose for my art piece?

I will be sure to post the art piece when it is done! I will add the appropriate tags to help protect those with certain triggers or sensitivities, as this is a heavy topic and I am using cut out photos of real human organs and body parts.

But what about scrapie. The sheep version. Where they compulsively scrape up against anything in sight to the point of scraping away their wool.

Imagine that but people

You go into a hospital, youre a doctor. Youve been called to an influx of people with the same symptoms and they believe your expertise will be able to help.

People are scared and confused.

The patients are scared and confused.

You show up. And you see the patients rubbing up against walls and medical equipment and any surface they can get to, some had scrapes and grazes from dragging their flesh upon concrete walls, some had blistered and rashes. And some were so far gone that they had rubbed away chunks of their own skin leaving lesions and exposed flesh in their wake. They seem unbalanced, they cant help but smack their lips, theyre biting and scratching at their own skin near constantly if they arent scraping it away. You look at the walls and see blood rubbed off on them. You're stumped. You cant get them to stop. You keep trying but they just wont quit. They all have this look in their eyes that shows their fear and delirium. They stumble and cant stand on their own, and one by one they perish. In about a week, most of them are dead, by the next, the remaining follow suite.

You conduct an autopsy and nothing appears off, you check for fungi and bacteria and viruses but nothing appears ary.

Until you cut open their head and see the thousands of spongey holes punched through one of their brains that you finally understand what befell them.

my irrational pet peeve rn is the amount of people online spreading misinformation that epstein had kuru from cannibalism. now i have no idea if the cannibalism is true, but what i do know is that kuru only ever existed on one isolated island, and that was because locals cannibalised someone who already had cjd, which then passed onto them in the form of kuru. so unless epstein was eating bodies that had fucking prion diseases, he did not have kuru. if he had a degenerative brain disorder, don't blame the fucking cannibalism and sensationalising this more than it needs to be. you dont need to add a ~scary prion disease~ when everythings already fucked up enough as it is
