Re: queer//autism: I think the reasons people get upset about the tagging thing is because it used to say it would at least try, and now…
1. Calls anyone asking it to tag (even those who are kind) Ableist
2. It still tags it’s own stuff fairly consistently from an outward perspective (like hyaena’s posts, happy tags, etc), but can’t tag triggers like psychosis and kink?
3. Yells at other people for not tagging appropriately
i don't think it should call people asking it to tag ableist, but i do respect that needs can change.
i can also get tagging positively but not negatively: we struggle with tagging triggers so we only tag things we're explicitly asked to tag.
(seriously, we've all agreed to try to accommodate any trigger requests, but if you need something tagged, even if it's common, please ask us. we try to get the big ones, but i don't want to even promise that much in case a common trigger isn't on our internal list of common triggers.)
but as far as point three, yeah, that's a dick move. it shouldn't do that if it's not going to tag. like, we're of the opinion that it's okay to not tag things (as long as you're up front about that, like, don't say you'll tag and then not, but if you need to say, "i can't tag, i'm not a safe space," that's okay), but you can't then criticize others for not tagging.
