How did they get here? Sor watched over the throng of people as their little Dove was once more trying her peaceful protests. Kazi and Moremo were the closest to her just in case anything went wrong. Sor had hopped the scare would push her into letting them take control and do things their way... but they couldn't say no to her. How passionately she believed! Sure her partner in crime left after Moremo started taking more responsibilities and they could tell his heart wasn't fully in it as she was.

How did they get here. The Raven Guard was simply sending a small amount of brothers to check on this planet... they weren't keeping up their tithes and they had always been good to the sons of Corax. Sor, Kazi, and Moremo were the last 3 left from the ambush, and from their Dove not long after such they announced their break away from the Imperium. But their darling... she was on their side. She figured and hoped, God Emperor bless her, hoped that she could do things in a way that didn't lead to violence. The brothers saw the writing on the wall and so they attached themselves to her group and began to cultivate the eventual power claws that would have to come out.

Originally... they were just going to get rid of her but they needed a human element... they needed her. Sor felt guilty at what was most likely going to happen but he couldn't say no to they way her eyes glistened and shone, desperate to believe that the humble movement she started wasn't heading towards the inevitable violent conclusion. Her old second in command put it very succinctly, "You'll either succeed or become the first martyr." But, he and his brothers would be there to wipe and kiss away her tears... most likely Kazi would be the first to get his hands on her to distract her.

Depending on how things went it was a toss up between himself and Moremo who got to be with their little visionary next. Sor still feels so dirty yet still on a delicious high after he scared her... he knew they were going to try and kill her... he found their roost and just made sure to miss by a hairsbreadth. The way she clung to him once they got back to the nest, he was the defacto "muscle" and "protector". Kazi was the most "human" of the group being far more cheerful than usually morose ravens... and so was Moremo but he had a way about him... a charisma that Kazi lacked... he was diplomatic. Sor just made sure all the bad things went away... Kazi just made sure she always was happy... and Moremo just made sure that everything was going smoothly.

The screams started as the body double dropped. It was a precaution that Sor had begged their Dove to consider and she was more than willing to die to help bring the planet back into the Imperial fold. They were unwilling to let her become a martyr for this. Perhaps Moremo was right, they were latching on to the mortal too hard and too quickly, hypocrite was latching too. They were still mourning their last shared beloved but she reminds them so much of her.

"Move out make sure they don't slaughter the Civvis." Sor groused as he pulled out his rifle and began to turn traitors into mist.

Kazi adored their little revolutionary! But she just was far too stubborn. She kept dodging his affections for her... playing them off as just being grateful flirtations for keeping them hidden from the traitorous government. Which was partially true, but she just was such a darling!

It was easy for him to pull her away from her old second in command... or rather situationship. Oh the poor man had no chance when three angels came to her asking for a safe haven. Kazi would swear on the Codex Astartes that he saw her blush and the wonder in her eyes as they humbly asked for a haven. It only took a little bit of training to get her to stop flinching when he would touch her, her hair, the curve of her hip, her waist... it took more after that to get her to just accept the fact that they could and would pick her up and move her.

Oh it was cute the fish out of water look on her face, the indignit frown, or the cute giggles as she pretended to be angry at being put under his arm as he carried her off or over his shoulder. Kazi found it very hard to not give her a spank when he threw her over his shoulder. He was the one to put forward that she should start sleeping with one or two of them. Playing off the wording as being just an astartes and above mortal phrasing. He's certain she could handle two of them at once. The nest he played off the accidental gropes as just trying to get her... him being hard? Adrenaline dear Dove and certainly not from her sweet scent.

Oh even Sor came round at night during her ovulation as that was one of the few nights they would lock the door and all three would rest in the room with her, though they would hardly get rest. But now was hardly the time to think about that. Kazi popped up from the cover and fired several rounds of bolt shot into the armored vehicle.

"So who is going to comfort our Dove when we get back." Kazi said looking around for a moment as the cabin of said vehicle was quite red.

"Now is hardly the time to discuss." Moremo groused.

"I mean she's going to be so upset..." He cooed.

"And shaken up. So it's going to be Sor. You know the deal." Moremo replied causing Kazi to frown.

"Well certainly then I get to be next."

"Wrong again Sargent." Moremo huffed, "I'll probably be next as we will have to discuss business before pleasure."

Kazi just frowned harder and perhaps chucked a brick, astartes strength hard, at a statue and watched a decent chunk of it break. Well he would get his chance to comfort and soothe their little dove once they were given control of the movement. Then all their Dove had to do was just make a few speeches occasionally and be there for them to find comfort in.

Kazi turned on his heels and rushed down the road.

Moremo knew that he had all but in name hijacked her movement the moment he became the second in command. Sor had hijacked it by allowing the more violent elements in while Kazi distracted her from noticing how militant her peaceful movement was becoming. He sighed as he was the last to fall for their sweet Dove.

He tried his hardest to not fall for her. They were still mourning their last Dove. Kazi had taken her death the hardest so him trying to latch onto another Dove so quickly wasn't too shocking. But when Sor latched on... seeing his quiet and tender Brother being held by their Dove... oh he knew she was for them. Her, as Kazi called it, Situationship Second in Command was trying to pull her away from them. To have her abandon their movement as soon as the brothers wanted to get involved.

Oh Kazi and he found it laughably easy to cock block the man. To pull her away... to see the jealousy seethe beneath the skin as they continued their affectionate gestures. Moremo had moved in after the fight that their Dove and that man had... she didn't deserve to be blown up at... he just was wildly jealous as they were space marines and as they had told her... were above mortal wants and affections.

He relished holding the tender Dove in his lap as he nuzzled her cheek just distracting her with all the bird noises he could make... the coos and whistles as he wooed her with several mating calls. Their Dove knew eventually that they would probably take over and he felt so very honored when she started to give control over to them. He took up the mantle of second in command.

He was the one to help convince her to sleep with them. He was able to spin it with Sor's help as she would be safer with two of them around her. It wasn't exactly a lie... but perhaps their intentions were less than pure. Where Kazi steals touches... Sor gets hugged by her whenever he isn't expecting it... Moremo steals her time the most.

"I've cleared out my section." He speaks, "We should head back we will need to assure everyone that our Dove isn't dead."

Sor was allowed his solo time in the nest with their Dove. Kazi watched like a bird with its feathers wet as she was sobbing into Sor's neck. He was crooning into her hair as his large hands rubbed her back. Moremo was currently mobilizing several branches of their operation. She pulled her head back and looked into Sor's black eyes with her wet looking ones, "I didn't want anyone to die!"

Kazi opened his mouth but Sor shot him a glare. When he wanted time with the Dove... Sor did not share. He was private with his affection... and wanted it to remain intimate, "I know sweetheart... but she knew the risk. She was willing to do this for you."

"What do I tell her family?" She sobs feeling guilty over what has happened.

"She will be remembered as a martyr for the cause. She will be remembered as giving up her life to help bring your planet back into the embrace of the Imperium." Sor says softly into her hair. "We need you to get a hold of yourself Dove. We need you to make a recorded speech."

"Why me? I'm hardly a charismatic leader. I'm just a crybaby who got in too deep." She says sniffling.

"Because we trust you. You hold the trust of three Astartes. Remember that is quite powerful." Had they not cared so deeply for their Dove... months ago someone else would have taken over. But by the Emperor there was so much blood on their hands from seditious elements inside of her own "faction". No they didn't want their Dove to be ousted she was going to be their voice.

Moremo walked over and looked inside, "Are you ready little Dove?"

She pulled away from Sor and followed the Raven.

She could feel herself getting a headache from all the crying... the speeches... the whirlwind of the day. The bed was so soft as she put an arm over her eyes just thinking about the events of today. She officially announced how her movement was leaving behind its peaceful roots only to take them back up once they were back in the fold. How she was handing over leadership to the Ravens... she wasn't exactly stepping down but she wasn't keen on running a violent thing.

She didn't understand why they wanted her around...

"Look at her..." She heard Kazi whisper from her left, "so pretty." Something she was use to hearing him say but the way he said it this time left something in her stomach.

"She must be tired from today." Moremo said from the right of her.

The soft closure of the door... and the click of the lock made her hold her breath for a moment. She was scared to move the arm over her eyes as the air practically tasted different. Charged with electricity that she was unfamilair with... and charged with a high voltage. The bed sank as she felt her knees pulled apart and moved her arm to see Sor kneeling between them. His eyes suddenly seemed to be fully black... she looked between the three and could see their eyes being fully black.

Her heart was racing as the three of them leaned in

Sor pulled her hips to his as he gyrated them just looking at her with unabashed adoration. "You did so good today." He cooed as she pulled back till her back was against the headboard.

"Such a good dove!" Kazi said as he crawled onto the bed causing her to flinch and jump.

"You did your part well little Dove. Thank you for handing it over to us." Moremo said crawling on the bed as well as she was now encircled.

She swallowed the fear as best as she could, "I... I did my best." She could see such unhinged adoration in Kazi's eyes but Moremo's black eyes were also drowning her in adoration. She yelped as Sor pulled on her ankle and she was on her back as the three of them crawled closer to her. Her breathing was quickening as she looked between the three Space Marines. "So... so what happens to me now?"

"We protect you... you're still the face of the movement." Sor said before his mouth latched onto her neck. Intimately kissing the crux of her neck and shoulder blade before sucking a large hickey into her skin. Her breath shuttered as she couldn't help it... she liked Sor... she liked the three of them. They watched their Dove's eyes unfocused and how she sucks on her bottom lip.

"Yes Dove... you need to be kept safe and make our speeches." Kazi turned her head toward his as his thumb pressed on her chin and opened her mouth as he cooed and leaned in for a kiss.

"So please little Dove just keep our nest warm." Moremo panted softly as he latched onto the other side of her neck and left his own hickey. Her eyes closed as her tongue gently played with Kazi's before he and Sor switched spots.

Kazi sucked on the hollow of her throat feeling the way she swallowed as Sor kissed her. His tongue less gentle than Kazi's taking a more dominant approach. When Kazi pulled his mouth away with a pop he grinned down as the three looked at the large hickies on her skin as she laid there with swollen lips. Her arm covering her eyes again as her cheeks were darkened from a blush on her face.

"Should we show her how much she means to us?" Kazi cooed and she once more shyly uncovered her eyes to look up at them as they looked down at her with nothing but adoration in their eyes.

Can I request prompt 7 with Octavinelle? On days like holidays I usually have a hotpot! I generally thought it’ll be funny as the hotpots I have consists of a lot of seafood. I’d imagine they would like hotpots though. In one way or another.

Comforting Meals

Author note: I love hotpot, my family usually uses pork or beef with a lot of vegetables. One of these days, I need to ask my mom or sister how they do theirs. I also did them all together, I didn’t think about doing them separately before finally finishing this. I had some trouble leading into the prompt and was getting nowhere, so it took a little while longer.

Prompt: Octativnelle following reader’s family tradition that they enjoy.

Warning: Fluff, Shrimp cannibalism, Poly Octo trio, and that’s it.

They say that food the ultimate comfort and you agree, considering it plays a big part of families. Usually around the holidays, families gather around food and spend time together, enjoying the warm and satisfying feeling at the end of the meal. You would probably be doing the exact same thing, but all your family was busy with their personal lives and wouldn't be at home. You decided to spend the winter break alone at Ramshackle until Azul, Floyd, and Jade offered for you to stay with them since they usually stayed on campus.

It was nice to not spend the holiday break entirely alone, you would spend time with doing homework with them and get help from them. During your stay, you noticed Azul not eating with Twins and you at dinner and would pass his room to see him, still awake, in the early hours of the night. You sighed and decided to do something about it, hoping to get him to rest, then went off to the kitchen to see what they had on hand.

In the morning, you left with Jade as he was going to go hunt for some mushrooms and borrowed a broom to head down to town to see if they sold what you needed on your list. Thankfully, there was a morning market, and it was lively as people sold various things. You browsed before coming across a place that sold kitchenware which is where you found an electric hotpot, one big enough to feed four people.

Sam and Ruggie would be proud of your bargaining skill which got you to pay a more reasonable price for it and quickly found a place that sold the noodles you needed. You socialized a bit and helped a few elderly couples with carrying their groceries. Once you were done, you flew back to the school and put the broom back in storage before heading back to the dorm. Once you got back, Floyd was doing his own thing while Azul was busy, meaning Jade hasn't returned from his hunt yet. You head to the kitchen and start preparing dinner.

Music playing softly in the background as you chopped up some vegetables and cooked some noodles while feeling you were being watched. Then you feel weight on your shoulders and a familiar whine, there was only one person who gave you this experience. 

"Floyd, may I help you?"

"Shrimpy, what could you possibly be making that needs all this stuff?"

"Something that my family has whenever this time of year comes around. Why don’t you go get Azul and tell him dinner is almost ready?”

“But I wanna stay here with you~” he whined, rubbing his cheek against yours.

“Do you wanna be here when Jade gets here?” 

Immediately, he ran out the door of the kitchen, leaving you alone with the music as you continued to cut things to add. You had a couple moments of peace before hearing the chaos outside the kitchen door and decided to go play peacekeeper. You place the knife down on the counter and wipe your hands on your apron then walk out to see Azul and Floyd clutching together as Jade tried to feed them one of the mushrooms you presume he found on his hike today, they ran and hid behind you. Break has been somewhat peaceful, but not too quiet, especially with these three.

“Jade, as much as it is amusing,” You intervene. “Stop scaring your poor brother and Azul.”

“But (Y/N), I’m only blessing them with the knowledge of this fascinating fungi I’ve found.”

“Last time you did that, Floyd and you were high off your asses while Azul and I watched you two do the macarena on the bar. Now all of you go wash up while I get dinner ready.”

You shoo them away towards their rooms before going back into the kitchen and grabbing the small plates as well as bowls of different vegetables and meats. You set them around the small round coffee table before setting up the portable hotpot. You start preparing the base of the hotpot, the broth, and humming to yourself as the savory aroma then put some floor pillows down. Getting up to grab the remainder of the dishes and the noodles, you place the small plates and bowls with utensils before taking a seat on the couch and starting to add some vegetables and meat as well as some fish. 

You let a shrimp cook for a bit in the hotpot before picking it out with your utensil and blowing on it then taking a bite out of it as a test to see if its the right temperature. You smile, melting a bit at the taste, and add some more.

“Eeehhh Shrimpy’s eating a shrimp, they’re a cannibal now. Azul, change them back!”

“But Azul, they’re so cute,” Jade added in, squishing your cheeks a bit. “Does this look like the face of a killer?”

Azul stares at you, raising an eyebrow, before speaking.

“Yes, truly an evil genius and cold blooded killer.” He responded, sitting on the couch. “So what is this exactly.”

“This is a hotpot which is somewhat like serving yourself. You can add anything, and let it cook as well as soak some of the broth.”

“Anything?” Floyd asked, sitting down on the floor pillow.

“Many things that are savory, thinly sliced pork or beef and seafood is the way I usually go.”

You demonstrate how they would cook the thin meat in the broth, explaining that you only need to have it in there for a couple seconds before they could eat it. Jade was ecstatic that you added mushrooms which you threaten to feed to Floyd if he didn’t eat some vegetables. Azul asked you more about it as you all ate, causing you to explain that you would usually have this with your family, but since they were all busy this year, you decided to stay at school with them rather than be at home alone. You listened as they all told stories of their childhood, the twins ganging up on Azul by telling you about all of his adorable moments. Thankfully, you made enough to feed all of you and they consumed a majority of the meal, leaving some vegetables and meat as well as noodles. Floyd moved onto the couch with you and cuddled you, sleepily rambling about how he wanted more and to do this every year now. Gradually, he falls asleep and Jade picks him up to go put him in bed after you give Floyd a good night kiss. You ate a bit more before feeling weight on your shoulder, turning your head to see Azul snoozing quietly. You smiled and put your bowl down before gently laid him down on the long couch and took his glasses off then kissed his forehead. You start cleaning up and taking the dishes to the kitchen then put away the leftovers and start doing the dishes. You dried your hands off and turned before crashing into a chest, looking up to see it was Jade, smiling.

“I am deeply moved that you shared a tradition of yours with us, I’m surprised that you were able to knock Azul out.”

“What? You think I used a warm meal to make Azul fall asleep so he could finally sleep?”

“Such a deceiving cute face and act, you evil genius.”

“But you wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“That’s quite true.” he said, patting your head. “Quite a caring shrimp you are.”

You both shared a short kiss before finally turning off all the lights and took Azul to bed to find Floyd laying in Azul’s bed. You all just bundled together and fell asleep with a full stomach and a warm feeling.

The years after that, it became a tradition to do hotpot with the trio and if you think if you’re spending a year without doing it, you’re dead wrong.

They persuaded your family to “invite’ the three over every break now if it was too cold for them to go home or their family was busy. Your family started asking which one you were dating, resulting in the three having shit eating grins.

Tengen Uzui is so strong that he can bend and twist your body however he wants whenever he wants. And you can’t do anything about it—not that you even want to. But he can be a bit mean when he wants to.

He comes home, splattered in blood, lugging himself about; he’s been injured. Heavy steps echoing through the halls as he makes his way into the room where you and all his wives reside. They pester and prod him, surrounding him, tending to his wounds. But you, you sit aside and finish off the book you had started upon his departure.

He doesn’t like that, glaring at your splayed out figure, you having the stupid book in hand. How could you care about something so boring and uninteresting when the flamboyant demon slayer was right there?

He picks himself up, brushing off the hands of his wives. And then, he’s towering over your prone form, breath ragged and he crouches at your feet. Without warning, he yanks you by the ankles, causing you to slide across the floor and closer to him.

From there, he presses his large hands onto the floor. Big, thick arms bulging as he lowers his bloodied face to steal a chaste kiss from you.

That’s all he wanted. Just a kiss—maybe a little attention. Was that so hard? Then, he’s up, snatching the book along with him and tossing it out of your reach. If you want it, you’re going to have to get past him and his wives. Not like he’d let you continue to ignore him after all this time. You’re not getting that stupid book back.

Unless, you’d rather pay attention to him now that he’s seated amongst his spouses. They’re all frantically tending to him, eyes flickering to you every now and then, waiting for you to join in now that you’ve got nothing to read.

The first time you met Reki and Langa was the day Cherry introduced you to them and suggested you be that fated third roommate they were looking for.

It was certainly awkward at first.

Normally, people could just avoid their roommates who were strangers until they eventually got comfortable enough to start a conversation.

But Reki and Lange were already best friends and were nice enough to try and include you in their friendship. They were always ensuring you didn't feel like a third wheel, especially after they told you about their relationship.

At first, it was sort of annoying in a sweet way, but after a month of complaining about Reki using his skateboard to get around the house and fussing over the two boys to get them to eat and sleep on time, it was safe to say you had gotten used to living with the two of them.

You didn't even realise when the casual affection started. When awkward side hugs had turned to cuddle sessions after long days and kisses on the cheek or forehead.

When you stopped dodging Langa around the kitchen and got used to being hugged from the back as he gushed about some new skater they were going to go against.

When Reki's loud action movies playing in the living room as he worked on a new skateboard had become more endearing than annoying.

Before long you had even gotten accustomed to seeing the rest of their friends like Joe, Cherry and Miya.

You found yourself spending Saturday nights tripping over your own feet as they tried to teach you how to skate and grumbling about how unsafe your roommates were being.

Maybe that was why you weren't as surprised as you should have been when things turned more romantic than platonic.

When forehead kisses as you cooked breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning turned into kisses down your neck while Langa whined about how sore he was.

When watching Reki fix skateboards turned into sitting between his legs with his hands cupping yours as he taught you how to do it and occasionally mumbled the sweetest little compliments into the back of your neck.

You tried to distance yourself, tried to draw a line between what was normal for friends who were affectionate with each other and people dating.

But before long you found that Langa was kissing your cheeks, forehead, anything he could right after he would kiss Reki deeply after winning a race.

Everything just felt so easy with both of them. Which was why you found yourself agreeing when they sat you down and talked to you about being in a three-way relationship.

Nothing really changed.

Langa would kiss you good morning while you whipped up breakfast, but now his lips would linger on yours.

Reki would still drag you to the couch after classes so he could force you to work on new skateboards with him, but now you sit on his lap as his fingers drummed against your waist and he observed you add twists of your own to his creations.

Movie nights were still the same, but you had lost track of how many times cuddling sessions turned into lazy make outs and vice versa.

You learned to stop caring about the weird looks and whispers of how they liked each other more than you, and they learned to adjust their lives to accommodate their new partner.

Over time the apartment you shared turned from a temporary college dorm to the place the three of you would return to after your jobs would end.

Everything was still the same.

You thought being in a relationship with two people would be double the drama but instead you found yourself feeling more at peace than you ever had before.

And that was all that mattered; that the three of you were happy to be roommates in a relationship.

Marco knew he had a crush on you, he was astute enough to see the signs.

He also knew Ace had the same feelings for you.

Marco definitely knew Ace’s feelings before he did.

So, it was Marco that brought it up when Ace stopped by his office one afternoon.

“You like them too, don’t you?” Marco’s lopsided grin spread across his face when Ace dropped what he was holding, surprised at the sudden on the nose question.

“What?” Ace squinted at Marco, had he heard him right?

“You like them, I can tell yoi.” He said once more watching as Ace sat down across from him, nervously glancing around, worried you might be hiding, waiting for some kind of setup.

He gripped the edge of the desk and eyed Marco carefully.

“Alright, maybe I do, so?” he sniffed, his posture bristled with nervous energy.

“Well, I do too, and I don’t plan on giving up nor getting in your way, I’m too old to deal with drama.” Marco’s tone was friendly, his half-lidded eyes never looked away from Ace, watching for a reaction.

Ace cocked his head to the side, processing everything Marco said. The two were close, and as much as he hated to admit it, he knew Marco would kick his ass before he could even blink if he wanted to.

“So, what are you proposing, Birdbrain?”

“Ah!” Marco chuckled as he sat straight in his seat, arms folded over his chest, a cheeky grin as he explained exactly what he had in mind.

You’d no idea the two commanders even liked you, thought the awkward flirting from Ace was just him trying to be nice.

Thought Marco was just teasing you, enjoying getting you flustered and stumbling over your words.

So, when they both confessed their feelings to you, on the same day, at the same time, over dinner. Well.

Marco wasn’t the jealous type, too easy going and laid back.

Ace didn’t mind as long as he got most of the attention.

You had no idea you’d have ended up with two boyfriends.

The evening was humid and your skin felt clammy, even the wood on the rails was warm to touch after spending all day soaking in the suns rays. You sighed and fanned your face with your hand, you had no idea how everyone was coping when you were feeling irritated.

You looked over around the deck, trying to find Roger or Rayleigh, missing your partner's presence but alas, you couldn’t hear Rogers's boisterous laugh or Rayleigh trying to keep him in check. You sighed, weary, feeling the summer sun sapping your energy.

Just ten minutes in the open had been too much, retreating to the captain's quarters where it was considerably cooler. Which was where you found Roger and Rayleigh, what looked like photos scattered out over the map charting the ship to its next destination.

“What are you doing?” you asked as you stepped over to the two, seeing the collection of photos in Roger’s hand as he flipped through them.

“I was feeling nostalgic.” Roger started as he set another one down.

The photo was of you wearing a large sunhat, Buggy and Shanks tucking flowers into the fabric band and looking happy. You wriggled past them sitting on Rayleigh's lap as he picked up another, this time it was an image of the three of you sitting together around a campfire, bright smiles and faces glowing in the light of the flames.

“Or were you just hiding away from the heat?” you pry and nudge him with your elbow.

“It can be two things,” Roger said, laughing loudly and bumping you back.

“I don’t remember when some of these were even taken..” you mumble and shift through the considerable stack on the desk, pulling out another photo.

This one was of Rayleigh looking a little annoyed but you and Roger were on either side of him kissing his cheek. You did remember that one, however. 

Rayleigh had been trying his best to deal with the aftermath of Roger and Whitebeard drinking into the early hours of the morning and a tipsy you and Roger had wanted to put a smile on his face, which it seemed you’d succeeded in because despite the grouchy look on his face in the photo you could still see the corners of his lips pulling into the begging of a smile.

“We’ve made so many wonderful memories.” you smile and collect up a handful, seeing all the adventures, the smiles, the laughter, and the silly little shenanigans you and your partners, your family had gotten up to.

“And we’ll make many more!” Roger proclaimed as he pulled you and Rayleigh against his chest.

A/N: Well it’s certainly been a hot min since I posted here properly and I am trying to come here more often again. Anyway been working on this little thing for a few weeks now as I get back into the grind of things so hope you enjoy this cute poly relationship with my favorite boys. <3

The path to the commander's quarters was a familiar one, even with no light to guide him. Marco let out a yawn as he ended his walk to his door, which opened with a click. Pushing it open, the warm glow of his desk lamp illuminated the room in shadows. It allowed him to see as he walked in and closed the door behind him quietly. A soft snore from somewhere behind made Marco smile as he turned back around to see the two sleeping people tucked into his bed against the wall.

The sight was something he was used to seeing often enough and one he was always happy to come back to. He sighed, rubbing a hand through his unruly hair; he walked over to his desk and pulled out the chair. The soft scraping against the wooden floor hadn't awakened them.

Marco started unstrapping his sandals before putting them in the corner where more shoes lay. Just seeing them made his heart warm. It was a small thing but made it feel more like home than it should’ve been. Next was the chain on his pants and the blue sash, which he hung off the chair's back. Shrugging off his pants, he left the unbuttoned shirt on and slid into the bed.

It was a tight fit, but that was to be expected, with three people sharing a bed too small for them. It had barely just fit him and Ace at one point, and now with you, it was even worse.

With his back turned towards the light, Marco leaned his head on his bent arm as he took in the presence of both of you. You were tucked under the covers. The only sign of you being there was a small glimpse of your face sticking out of the comforter. Ace, on the other hand, was tucked with his back against the wall, and his body curled around yours in a mess of limbs. It was a precious sight that made Marco smile sleepily.

He couldn’t remember the last time he felt so content and in love with not just one person but two at the same time. It made him want to coo, but he refrained from doing so, not wanting to wake you both up. He knew you, in particular, hadn’t been sleeping as of late. He wasn’t sure why exactly you hadn’t said anything, which concerned him, but he figured you would speak when you were ready.

A sudden shuffle in the bed had Marco looking up as Ace’s eyes blinked open slowly.

He stretched out like a cat as he hummed and curled around you again as he looked at Marco with a smile on his face.

“Hi,” his voice was rough from sleep.

Marco returns the smile as he reaches out and brushes stray hair out of the freckled face. Ace closed his eyes at the touch and leaned into it as the fingers lingered for a moment.

“Hi, yourself, sunshine.”

Ace grumbled at the endearment but said nothing as he settled further down into the bed. You shuffled in your sleep, knocking the blanket from your face more. A snore left you, making both men snort as they both watched you quietly.

“Has y/n told you why?” Marco asked; not evening having to say what it was, Ace sighed.

“No, nothing stubborn brat.” He mumbled, brushing your cheek softly.

“Wonder where y/n gets it from,” Marco questioned.

“Hey—“ He started but stopped getting quiet again. They both watched as you continued to sleep away.

“I sometimes wonder how I deal with you both.”

“I know we’re both a pain sometimes, but if I didn’t have you both…I don’t know where I’d be right now.” Ace confessed.

Marco lifted his eyes to look at Ace. His brows pinched together, a frown on his face. The look was something he often saw on the younger man’s face, especially when he was unsure of something. Over the years, it became easier to detect the different emotions his lover gave off. This was nothing new but one he hadn’t seen in a while, which worried Marco slightly.

“Ace..”

Ace looked away from the Phoenix and hid his face into the crook of your neck. The new movement made you wince as your eyes fluttered open somewhat. Marco sat up some as your eyes adjusted to the dim lighting.

“What’s going on” You mumble, eyes fluttering close again in your drowsiness.

Marco sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, his glasses lifting as he did so. “Just Ace….”

You hummed, not needing to know the contents as you sat up more, making the bed dip as Marco opened his eyes again. He watched as you turned on your side, Ace’s limbs going with you as you turned on your side.

Marco watched the exchange, barely being able to see or hear what was said as you cupped Ace’s face into your hands. From the little bit, he could see Ace's face was frustrated as you continued to speak but slowly began to relax. A breath he didn’t know was holding in was exhaled as you kissed Ace’s freckled cheeks. A soft laugh falls from his lips, making you giggle, kissing his nose.

“Everything good over there?” Marco asked.

You looked over your shoulder and smiled brightly. “All is good now! Right Ace?”

Ace peaked his head out from hiding an unsure smile on his face, and it made Marco sigh. Things wouldn’t be over just from this one incident, but he would worry about that at another time. “Come here, Ace,” he gestured to him with his hand, patting his thigh in invitation.

Ace hesitantly crawled out from around you and made his way across the bed to the older man, who quickly pulled him close. Ace’s thighs were seated on Marco’s hips as he encircled him into his embrace. His body was hot against Marco’s, and it felt good to be feeling the heat again as if he hadn’t felt it every day for the past several years. He never got tired of it, though, and always welcomed it, especially in a situation like this, seated in bed and just spending time together even if it was more for comfort at the moment.

The mattress dipped again as you crawled up next to Marco and kissed his cheek. He turned his head just as you started to pull away, and he captured your lips this time with his own. You hummed into the kiss before pulling away and kissing his cheek again.

“Love you,” you muttered, making Marco smile before turning his attention back to Ace.

Marco lifts himself slightly and lays back down onto the bed, Ace still in his arms. You grabbed for the blankets and covered the three of you before you settled in against Ace’s back. You sighed softly before closing your eyes again. With that, Marco began rubbing his fingers through Ace’s hair. The fire user groaned at the soothing touches that soon turned to a soft snore which made Marco snort in amusement. He would never get tired of nights like this cuddled up with you both, that it made working long into the night worth it sometimes.
