NEW YORK WORLD’S FAIR 1964-1965 posters (1961-1964) - NEW YORK FROM THE AIR TRAVEL POSTERS (5/10)

It was long ago that New York stood as the capital of the world with its incredible architecture making it a natural site for the 1964-1965 World’s Fair. many iconic sites were built specifically for this event including the Queens sphere, that greet you when arriving from JFK to Manhattan, among many others.

The event was highly publicized all over the world and spawned some of the best ever designed travel posters as shown above (click on images for details).

New York will rebound. It will take time but it will.

To wish you All a fabulous new year 2019, I gathered 10 posters featuring fireworks culled from the many genres of the Gallery: Movies, Music, Comics and Advertising...(please see also the 10 parts New Year calendar posters immediately following)

We start with one of the most iconic Sixties travel poster, i.e. this TWA poster designed by David Klein (see Part 6) featuring Paris’ Eiffel Tower illuminated by fireworks (the best in the world I must admit).

One of David Klein's most celebrated posters. In this exultation of the City of Light, Klein's stylized fireworks mimic the illustrated showgirls of the Folies-Bèrgere in posters of the period.
