I have a question. On concept art, Lilly has a scar on her right cheek. What do you think caused her and why she didn't appear in the game? (sorry for my english, it's from the translator).

No idea honestly.

I get the feeling it would have been similar to Tenn in that it never gets explained to us and is left to fan interpretation.

The scar makes her look more intimidating and scary - someone who looks like they've been through some rough shit and gives the impression of ruthlessness.

I think the reason that concept was scrapped was because the team were probably wanting Lilly's antagonistic side to be more of an internal thing that the players see naturally develop from her as opposed to being a physical clue - as it's a little on the nose/glaring.

It's more interesting narratively to see Lilly looking similar to how she was in S1 (so not drastically different) because it makes us feel more connected to her as the woman we met as Lee who is complex and tries to do good (from her perspective), but is victim to her own sense of judgement and actions which ultimately leads to her own downfall in both S1 and TFS.

To have Lilly look too apocalypse worn in my opinion would make it too easy to detach her from her S1 self and players would automatically dismiss her right away because she's a different person.

Or hell, maybe they just didn't like the design at the end lol. But that's how I would have interpeted it if I was in charge of choosing the concept art.
