Zoals jullie vast wel weten zijn Esther en ik al enige jaren ook actief op twitter. Eens in de zoveel tijd levert dat leuke ontmoetingen op met de mensen met wie je twittert. Er zijn inmiddels al veel mensen die wie nu ook in real life kennen en sommigen van hen zijn zelfs dierbare (en tastbare) vrienden geworden. Denk aan Kees en Esther en Berend en Marjolein bijvoorbeeld.

International Grenache Day 2012 tweet-up

Grenache is one of the world’s most-enjoyed but least-known grapes. It’s savored in countless bottles of Cotes-du-Rhone, Chateauneuf-du-Pape and other southern Rhone Valley blends, whose labels seldom mention the names of the grapes inside.

Once a year on International Grenache Day, red-lovers salute this grape. In Australia, grenache’s spiritual home is McLaren Vale, where there’s to be a ‘tweet-up’ on the big day, September 21.

Winemakers, locals and visitors will converge on the Vale Inn Taphouse where they’ll sample various grenache wines between 5 and 7pm, then kick up their heels from 8pm when the DJ starts spinning. No doubt, as on the previous two grenache days, people in other places will organize their own celebrations - between consenting adults, of course. Hashtag is #grenacheday. grenacheday.wordpress.com
