GUESS WHO IS FINALLY REGISTERED FOR A COVID VACCINE!!!!
just a few hours until i do something very...foolish? brave? disruptive? unnecessary?
definitive, for certain. transformative, possibly. terrifying, absolutely.
anyway, send good vibes!
I’ve officially reached the age when I nonchalantly check the fourth finger on a guy’s left hand when I’m having an amazing conversation with him.
song rec of the day !! twenty-something (lucian remix) by kiri t
Let me introduce myself
Hello, my name is Ally.
I’m 23 (very nearly 24) and have spent the last six months or so of my life doing a lot of soul-searching.
In June, I split up with my boyfriend of three years. That relationship was pretty much all I’d known for my adult life and it wasn’t until I became single again that I realized really how much I’d neglected my own personal development.
Now, my own happiness is my number one priority and I’m currently working on building the best version of myself.
Career-wise, I’m very interested in going into video production. I have a degree in journalism, so I have worked on video production before but not to a huge extent. When I was in school, that was one of my favourite things to work on.
As a result, I watch a lot of YouTube and particularly a lot of Buzzfeed videos. Right now, my dream job would probably be as a video producer at Buzzfeed. I love a lot of their content, but particularly Worth It and Buzzfeed Unsolved (I love the Try Guys too even though they aren’t technically Buzzfeed any more).
I used to use Tumblr religiously when I was about 15, made a lot of friends, and really felt like part of a community. I decided I wanted to experience that again, especially now that my interests have changed.
When I went to write this post I initially planned on just doing some bullet points about myself so this got way more in-depth than I intended... follow along with my journey and you’ll learn a lot more about me. :)
Cut yourself some slack. One of the biggest regrets most people have about their 20s is that they didn’t enjoy them more. And I’m not talking about “buy more expensive dinners, take another trip to Thailand” type of enjoyment. I mean having the ability to take a deep breath and sip coffee in the morning knowing that you have done, and are doing, your best.
