@twinstarsweek Day 2 prompt- Fireflies/Fantasy
As Katsuki stares out over the crystalline lake fronting their cabin, he places his hands on his hips and breathes in the crisp night air. The full moon was wide and brimming with light creating a mirror that spanned out in a v shape on the surface of the water. It was beautiful, a calming peace that rarely bore out in his hectic hero life. This weekend retreat would be brief, and he wanted to make the most of it.
He smiles as he watches his boyfriend from the porch. Izuku was also staring out over the lake as if mesmerized. Who could blame the man for being sucked into such a pleasing vision? Every few moments the man would turn his head looking around him. It was early in the evening and the fireflies were making their entrance, dancing and flashing around in the air to an unheard melody.
‘Such a dork,’ Katsuki chuckles as Izuku tries to catch the tiny insects. The sounds of hand claps breaking the still of the forest’s nightly song. Soft ones, loud ones, thumps like base beats counter to the soprano crickets and alto cicadas. The man was creating his own rhythm in an unsuccessful attempt to snare a glowing bug. It was hilarious! ‘A total dork,’ but he was his dork and that’s all that mattered.
The soft chuckles catch Izuku’s attention and he turns with a wide-brimmed grin to his boyfriend. He laughs and waves. “Kacchan, come help me!”
The blonde shakes his head no, but slowly descends the steps to the ground below in a counteraction. One step, two step, three. Katsuki pauses at the bottom still in debate of whether to join the silly man or continue to just watch the drama unfold.
Izuku waves him over. Katsuki shakes his head no with a smile. So, Izuku waves again more excitedly only to gain a bigger grin and another shake of the head. He pouts, giving a sad pair of puppy eyes leveled at the blonde. “Please…”
With a roll of his eyes but the smile still glued to his face, Katsuki saunters over to where his boyfriend is standing a few feet away. “You shouldn’t pester them,” he jests, “they didn’t do anything to you Deku.”
“I just think they’re neat,” Izuku answers. They don’t get to see fireflies in the city, only out here in the countryside. The ability to create light through a chemical reaction in their bodies made them amazing little creatures to him. He wraps his arms around Katsuki’s waist and stares up at the slightly taller man. “Don’t you think they’re cool little bugs?”
Katsuki shrugs, “they’re just bugs to me.” He returns the gesture, embracing Izuku. “And I’m more interested in spending time with my boyfriend then playing with insects.”
A heated blush steal’s across Izuku’s cheeks. It was rare for Katsuki to flirt like this, and it made him happy to know the man felt relaxed in the moment to do so. “Wanna know why I think they’re so cool?”
“Because they have something in common with you.”
“What?!” Katsuki bellows out a laugh. “What the hell do I have in common with glowing bugs?!”
“Well…” Izuku slightly averts his gaze while keeping a smirk on his face. “Your quirk is making bright explosions from a chemical reaction. These bugs’ quirk is creating glowing light from a chemical reaction. You both make something through a chemical reaction.”
“First off, I cannot believe you just said fireflies have a quirk. Second, did you seriously just equate me to a bug?!”
“Yup!” Izuku grins confidently. “And did you know their light is to attract a mate? Just like how your powerful explosions attracted yours.”
It was Katsuki’s turn to blush rather fiercely. He assumed his boyfriend was talking about his quirk, but his seedier mind registers a different kind of explosive reaction. Regardless, the whole topic was so silly and crazy. How did he go from enjoying the scenery to comparing glowing butts and explosions?! “You are seriously weird Deku, and you know what I’m gonna do about this?”
“This!” Without a second of warning, the tight hold he has around Izuku works to his advantage as he launches a tickle attack on his boyfriend. The man shrieks as rapidly moving fingers dig into his sides, aiming for his weakest points.
“Ka-cchan!!” Izuku’s broken laughter and shrieks echo through the air. He tries to fight back, twisting and turning, clawing at the fingers roaming his body, but the larger male has the upper hand. “Stop!” He squeals! Through shortened inhales and exhales and his stomach starts to hurt from all the laughter. “Please stop!” He begs through the laughing, “I can’t breathe!”
“Am I like a firefly?” Katsuki taunts back. “Well, am I?!”
“That’s what I thought.” Katsuki stops tickling, but keeps his arms wrapped tightly around his boyfriend. He smirks and leans down nosing around Izuku’s neck. “You feel that?” He grinds his hips against the man. “I think you’re really the firefly cause you just attracted a mate.”
Izuku’s body shudders in the man’s hold as he feels the bulge in Katsuki’s pants, and the light kisses being placed around his neck. “Kacchan don’t tease…”
The blonde pulls back, “I never tease…” fixing green eyes with red, and a smoldering burn behind them.
His eyes pop open and the feeling of dampness in the darkened room wakes his mind quickly to a lonely reality. His sheets are covered in sweat and tangled around his legs. Ugh, Izuku groans at the throbbing erection. This was the third night in a row he’d had the same damn dream! He turns to his side and pulls the pillow over his head, praying for a new one.
But just two blocks away another man is cursing as he pulls on a pair of sweats and heads out into the early morning darkness. It was clear to the blonde that his crush wasn’t going to let him sleep until he did something about it, so he’ll put an end to the nightly fantasies one way or another. ‘Fuck this teasing shit, I’m gonna claim that omega right now!’
