“y-you’re not Batman.” she couldn’t keep the fear out of her voice no matter how hard she tried to keep herself together. the shadow alone should have told her but she wasn’t paying attention at the time. not until he -- they? -- made it obvious it was her they wanted. not until it was too late. panic was what drove her now/ eyes the thinnest of slits as she took in every wrong detail of the creature. looking for weaknesses, identifiers, details for description later should she survive this . it wasn’t Man-Bat, it wasn’t Batman, if she squinted she could see the Joker -- which sent a whole new wave of chills down the young girls spine and pulled her foot back behind her to shift her weight even farther away from this thing -- but nothing fit. nothing that made sense. nothing she could use to her advantage.
and she had not been so terrified in a long while.
