Progress Report March 2025

And March is practically over~

Third progress update of this year already, again updating on my art/animation/webcomic progress.

So here we go:

My webcomic, Twisted Play:

Chapter 2. 1 part 2 is still in the works. I'm working on the lineart and have finished some more panels, also including character lineart this time instead of just backgrounds. It's still fairly early into the strip so there's no real telling when it'll be finished. But I reckon the lineart should be finished at some point in April...I hope. May at the latest.

I've also touched up on a few panels and dialogue on part 1 that bothered me a bit. But at least now I can say I'm fully content with it now.

Writing-wise, I've done some edits on chapter 2.1's script for part 2 onwards and edited some stuff in the chapter outlines for future chapters that are a long while away from where we are right now. Nothing extreme, but some changes nonetheless.

I've created two stand-alone illustrations, this time of Desire and Chouwa, "Toxicity" and "Decidophobia".

I did some Valentine's art last month and upon hearing that one weird thought of "Should I draw Noriaki in a maid outfit?" ring in my head, I did exactly that for White Day. It's okay to admit it: he's rocking that, isn't he?

I've mentioned that I did some side doodles as warm-up last month. It went on until the beginning of March and I've compiled them all in one file. I was severely lacking silly couple art of Chouwa and Chiron, so I decided to doodle these silly drawings of them being the weird villain couple that they are to make up for it:

Animation WIPs:

The only OC I haven't showcased on my Youtube channel yet is Chiron. So it was high time I worked on something. Maybe you remember the "888" animation meme I have as a WIP from my last reports that does feature him, too, but with how much of a "morally grey, obsessive antagonist character" Chiron is in my comic, I decided his YT debut should have more "oomph". Introducing, the "Turn in the dark/Tourner dans le vide" animation meme. Except I make it a backstory animation, unrelated to the actual meme format.

As of right now, it's about 1/3 finished if the amount of keyframes is to be believed. The later parts will feature a lot more character movement than I've animated thus far in this and in past animations overall, but, although it's pretty intimidating, I'm super excited for that! (Plus Chiron best boi. My skrunkly little antag.)

Every other animation WIP hasn't been touched on this month.

Miscellaneous:

On the occasion of drawing Noriaki in a maid outfit, I also made a small GIF animation of him being spun around by Chouwa:

I made a meme drawing for the upcoming birthday of Noriaki. I'm planing to post it with my next illustration in the beginning of April.

Progress Report April 2025

Pfff~ April went by pretty fast. Aaaand go:

My webcomic, Twisted Play:

Chapter 2. 1 part 2 is, yes, still in the works. Still working on the line art. In between preparing said line art I changed up a few things about the initial sketch for it and actually ended up putting a few more panels in between. As of right now, I'm about 50% finished with the lineart.

I was hoping to get more done till May, but seeing all of the plans my job and private life has ready for me in May...it'll likely be June or, god forbid, July till I finish the line art. Rather giving a cautious prognosis instead of assuring it'll absolutely be finished in May. It's not impossible, but unlikely to happen. *ugly crying*

Did some more smaller dialogue changes to chapter 2.1. part 2. Nothing big.

Also this time, heres a few of the line art panels for part 2. (They're all color-coded, since that's my usual way of dividing the layers. Obv the final line art will be black.):

I've created two stand-alone illustrations again: "Speak now, think later" ft. Kaname and "Vivisection" ft. Chouwa and (mainly) Chiron:

Animation WIPs:

SOOOOOO...:

The "Turn in the dark"/"Tourner dans le vide" animation ft. Chiron is coming along nicely. I've been working on it quite a bit in between and now reached the halfway point.

I- uh, also did 2 sketch versions of 2 more animations I wanna work on some time. It's unclear when that happens and ofc I want to finish the Chiron animation first. So these 2 will sit there and wait a while. And as for YOU: have an excerpt of one of these sketch versions. Thought I could spice things up a bit by showing some behind-the-scenes stuff. In this case...my messy af sketch versions that I make to get future me to remember what I'm even trying to do. Keep in mind: it's not the full sketch version, just a part of it. It's also subject to change, depending on me and my silly ideas showing up unpredictably. Plus, the text you occasionally get to see in these? Don't bother trying to read those. I'll need to believe you're some kind of alien if you can faultlessly decipher my messy notes in full.

1) "Panic animation": Something of a prequel to the "Turn in the dark" animation currently in progress ft. mainly (younger) Chiron and his connection to the ARCC, as well as Chouwa freeing him from the server system of the ARCC he's been locked up in before she got there. Here's the sketch version excerpt I promised:

2) "Miss me?" animation: Randomly sat there listening to music and actually came across a song that doesn't just fit Kaname but also Chiron. That's not easy for me to find. They're different in many ways. This animation actually references an upcoming scene that'll (likely, depending on upcoming re-writes) happen somewhere in chapter 3. Short version of it all is that Kaname isn't very happy to meet her dear twin brother who she hasn't seen for over a decade. Wonder why... (would've posted the sketch video here too but apparently only one is allowed per post, so perhaps showing you this one next month.)

Every other animation WIP hasn't been touched on this month.

Miscellaneous:

Easter art of Chiron and Kaname as bunnies drinking water in their own ways. There's...honestly not much else to say about this one other than it was a cute little side piece to work on.

May will be pretty hectic. Job stuff with some bigger appointments planned, I'll be going on a small trip with my mum near the lower half of May. I didn't have a vacation in over 6 years pffffffffff- "just" 3 days but definitely something I'm looking forward to.

What I wanna say is: the May progress report may be pretty short compared to the ones I did up until now. Keyword being "may". Knowing me, I'll likely still find a way to keep up with my art even if I'm exhausted to hell and back. Cuz obviously, working on my art helps me unwind.

"Undeserving" (TW: Blood, gore, disturbing imagery ⚠️)

New artwork of my OC Chiron.

It's also an attempt of shading an illustration entirely with cel shading instead of using soft shading. It really does give it a different kind of oomph, though I'll still have to get used to cel shading. ✨

Only used the airbrush tool on the eyes for a slight glow.

Chiron is an antagonist character in my webcomic called 'Twisted Play' on Webtoon Canvas.

Progress report February 2025

And hello again~

Second progress update coming up, updating on my art/animation/webcomic progress this month.

So here we go:

My webcomic, Twisted Play:

Chapter 2. 1 part 2 is in the works. The sketch has been done in January. I've now started doing the lineart of it. Whilst working on my other stuff, I've got a handful of BG panels done from the beginning of the episode.

Artworks I made: Warning! Blood/gore/disturbing imagery.

I've created two stand-alone illustrations of my main boy Noriaki: "Baited" and "Self-Discovery". And I'm not ashamed to say that Noriaki was perhaps my favorite of my bunch of weird unhinged OCs this month.

For the special occasion of Valentine's Day, I did what any (single loner) artist would do and make some themed artwork. Just don't ever expect me to do lovey-dovey artwork all that much. And this should show you I have the romantic tendencies of a pebble: maybe a cute little pebble, but cold and rough-edged.

Finished animations:

I initially hoped I would've this one ready for Valentine's Day, too. But I only finished this a day ago as of writing this. February 2025 marks the inception of my take on the "Flowers" Animation Meme ft. my OC Desire. Because yes, even the kindest fairy tale princess gets impatient waiting for her lover. (No, she isn't an actual fairy tale princess)

Animation WIPs:

I don't have a lot to report here. Most is stuck at the same amount of progress as it was in January.

The only one other than the "Flowers" Animation that I worked on a bit was the "888" Animation, but really nothing noteworthy as of now, maybe like...one or two frames? Last month's progress pic as a reminder of what I'm talking about:

Miscellaneous:

I started a smaller design sheet for eye animations related to my OCs archangel powers in January. Now in February, Noriaki's eye animation got some company in Chouwa's eye animation. Rest will follow sometime in between.

For the last few days of February, I made this habit of drawing a few warm-up doodles of Chouwa and Chiron. I'm not sure if I'll keep doing warm-up doodles like this in the future as a regular thing or not. Only time will tell, I guess.

Progress update 3rd quarter 2025

HAH. It's been a bit huh.

Part of it is, yeah, admittedly, I kinda forgot to do these. On the other hand, as much as I hate saying this, Tumblr isn't really my main concern, as this is the platform I by far get the least engagement in, compared to my Instagram and YouTube.

NO DON'T GO YET. I wanted to still share my progress here. Rambling about my progress did only ever have its upsides overweighting the one downside, and that is that these take so long to write. 😭 (But then again that's a good thing because it shows I actually did stuff-)

NOW HERE: My progress from July to September:

My webcomic, Twisted Play:

If you remember, in June I celebrated that I finally finished the line art of Chapter 2.1. part 2. By now I finished coloring and shading the whole thing. The only thing left to do is add a few details and the text bubbles.

Chapter 2.1.3's script has been fully revised. Due to its sheer length I'm contemplating whether or not to split it in half and make a part 3 and 4 out of this. This, as it stands now, is highly likely to end up being the case.

OK, from the top: "Sugar vs. Gluttony" (ft. Chouwa and Chiron), "Weeping" (ft. Chouwa), "Angel" (ft. Noriaki), "Doomed" (ft. Kaname), my birthday artwork "Therapy" (ft. The entire main cast), "Archangel" (ft. Chouwa) and "Mess" (ft. Chouwa)

All of these aside from the Therapy one are animated, though I didn't save the others aside from the first one as a GIF. I used to create these GIFs with CapCut, but, would you know, they changed their TOS and I'm...not in favor of these. So I changed to ShotCut not long ago. A bit limiting, yes, but it does work out for me.

Animation WIPs:

In good old me fashion I started a few sketches in the meantime. Mostly darker animations tapping into the backstories of my sillies. I'm planing to do some shorter animation memes before committing to longer ones again.

Finished animations:

THAT SAID: I finished the "Turn in the dark" animation in August! 1.5 mins of goodness, my sanity, sleepless nights and...laughs towards the end. It all paid off in my opinion. I'd love to hear yours! It's posted on both Instagram and YouTube.

As I've mentioned before, instead of following the "meme format" for the "Turn in the dark" animation meme, I went ahead and made this a backstory animation, Chiron being the centerpiece of it.

AY, THAT'S NOT THE ONLY ONE I FINISHED!? Yeah, unbelievable, but last month I also made my rendition of the Akage animation meme ft. Chouwa. Again, the video is posted on Instagram and YouTube, but here it is on Tumblr as well since it's only 10 seconds long so maybe check it out and let me know what you think ~

APAPAPAPAP you thought this was all?! No I did yet ANOTHER:

I saw some Family Feud clips and really wanted to animate my sillies to one of them.

So my birthday was in September and alongside the "Therapy" art from above I decided to draw my OCs into some memes.

So yeah, I guess that was all (if I remember something else I'll just edit this)

I'm currently knee-deep into spooky month. I finished 3 out of the 4 artworks I planned for this. The 4th one is...a welcome challenge. I'm excited to work on it this week.

Progress Report June 2025

Alright June is already over, too. I don't know, it really was on fast forward the entire time it felt so short.

Totally not me trying to justify the low amount of new stuff I finished this month no no no uh.

Anyways, here we go:

My webcomic, Twisted Play:

It's insane, everyone! I FINALLY finished the lineart for Chapter 2.1 part 2! It seriously felt like an eternity. But that's all the time when I draw lineart anyway.

I started coloring it this month, too. But so far, I've only gotten around to color some simple backgrounds. Some with actual objects, some with simple gradients...

I only managed to finish one illustration this time. "Well-meaning Deceit" ft. Noriaki and Kaname.

I went ahead and animated the background for this one, too. Sorry if the GIF version looks too pixelated. I don't know why that is...

I'm currently still working on another animated illustration, ft. a few OCs from my art friends over on Instagram as desserts. Yummy~ I was hoping to finish it this month, but it got a bit out of hand and while I wanted to load lots of desserts on that drawing, I decided to cut it short and focus on the OC cameos instead. For my own sanity. And Krita kept crashing, sometimes 2-3 times in a row... My more recent works definitely got a bit more "cozy". Don't worry that will definitely change soon I have some dark and abstract stuff in my waiting list.

The "Turn in the dark"/"Tourner dans le vide" animation ft. Chiron is STILL coming along nicely, But I didn't get to work on it much this month... I maybe worked on it for like, two long nights?

Little sneak peak, though I still take a bit of an issue with this particular part and I'll have to touch up on this a bit as soon as I work on it again.

I mentioned last month that I wanted to do a sketch of another animation idea. And I went and did it. "My own hell" ft. mainly Noriaki but also ft. Chouwa. It'll have some scenes that'll happen in Chapter 2.2 when I get around to working on that. After I'm finished with the "Turn in the dark" animation, this is highly likely the next big animation I'll commit to.

Funnily enough, this time I didn't get around to finishing the entire sketch for it yet, but I did prepare like 2/3 of it, give or take.

Progress Report May 2025

Said that May will be pretty hectic. And yup, it definitely was. From worse-than-usual work stress, a short trip, one of my family's cars breaking down and another getting hit, nervous breakdown, my glasses suddenly snapping in half, almost witnessing a severe crime that just so happened to take place around 500 meters from where I was standing at that time and only finding out about it in the news later that day...huh. Really was a roller coaster.

Anyways, personal yapping aside, here we go with the actual fun stuff: My art~

Chapter 2. 1 part 2 is, wow shocker, still in the works. Still working on the line art like before. I'm in the second half of it.

I was hoping to get more done in May even with all of these weird things that happened throughout the month, but yeah, that didn't happen.

I've created two stand-alone illustrations again: "Devotion" ft. Chiron (and Chouwa) and "Incubation Period" ft. Desire.

Both have been animated, too~ Might be wondering why I'm giving myself so much work with this but it's fun and, admit it, just giving it a little movement like this makes these look so cool. It's definitely something I wanna do with more future pieces, too.

Mhmm. Speaking of...:

The "Turn in the dark"/"Tourner dans le vide" animation ft. Chiron is still coming along nicely. I've gone past the halfway point (~550 frames, full animation is somewhere around 1,100/1,150 frames) last month already. Soon reaching the 700 frames mark. From this point forward it'll get a bit challenging, since I plan for the later part of this to have some fast BG animations and a more complex character animation. Like if you've seen my previous stuff until now, you'll know the character animations had simple body movement only. Nothing like a full turnaround, dance, or anything like that. But I'm definitely looking forward to that challenge later on.

I didn't work on any other animations. Nor did I do any sketches for any new ones I wanna do in the future..........

........but I am planing to do a sketch version tonight after posing this but technically this'd count towards the June progress report because it'll be June 1st in around half an hour and I won't finish before then.

Miscellaneous:

I worked on the outfit sheet for Kaname this month. Now the only main character left without one is Desire.

Her prior main outfit design (2nd on the left) has been modified a little bit. But other than that? Nothing noteworthy. other than you must worship this gremlin sacrifice all of your belongings immediately-
