So like a lot of folks I’ve been keeping my eye on the Twitter situation, and I wanted to figure out how many Twitter offices there actually are and

from the “If you’re about that in-person feel” we can assume this was updated after muskrat banned employees from working from home, but in that process they broke their careers website...

And then hilariously I noticed this link to a seemingly inactive Twitter Careers account

Yeah no shit they’ve got hundreds of job openings, but if you actually look in the tiny list of people the account follows

Most of them either describe themselves as ex Twitter in their bio, or don’t mention Twitter at all, so presumably most of the recruiting staff have either left or been fired

So I think it’s safe to say Twitter “““2.0″““ is going to have a hard time hiring new staff, let alone finding people who know what they’re doing to train them before they can even be ready to work the criminal hours and conditions muskrat expects. The website is going to break before the future staff learn how to run it, and maybe before there’s a means to hire new staff at all

Musk deleted this tweet, though he left up the other ones ripping on Apple.  Apple hates free speech, you can tell because they aren’t giving Elon enough money!  Apple is taxing the whole internet!  This is a battle for the future of humanity!

And look, just for the record... I agree with part of what he’s saying in this case.  Apple does have unreasonable influence and 30% (it’s not that much all the time, but let’s set that aside) is too much.  But like... what the fuck is his plan here?

Companies are worried about advertising on a platform that’s being run by someone who isn’t very stable, and they’re worried about the lack of moderation leading to their posts being right alongside white supremacists and stuff.  Trying to bully them with memes isn’t going to change any minds.

Also Jesus at least photoshop a Tesla into that one.  Come on.

And finally, let’s take a second to imagine what a “war” between Twitter and Apple would look like.  Apple would do what it’s probably already going to do and remove Twitter from the app store.  That’s it.  That’s the war.  But if they DID want to go scorched Earth there’d be nothing left of Twitter and Apple wouldn’t even feel it.  Apple is so much bigger than Twitter it’s ridiculous.
