Omg Hi it’s been awhile!~~

I am terribly for not updating this or the art blog as often but in light of recent news I just want to let followers know that I’m still alive but alive and kicking more so in twitter. Just wanted to fill you guys in. ~

mel my darling. my angry grown up little girl. loves del so much but feels bitter that he left her. hates herself for being bitter bc she knows he needed to leave to survive. hates her mother for her lies and her cruelty to del but can’t help but love her. resents how loving she was to her bc it’s left her unable to completely harden her heart against her. has abilities that make her incredibly powerful but susceptible to corruption, exacerbated by how much she hates them and herself. unsure of who or what she is other than the magic and the anger

i’ve never been sure what tyer’s “conclusion” should be bc i would like him to heal and grow and let go etc etc but while i can imagine him eventually finding peace im not super certain he’d ever be genuinely happy again post-revenge quest

so i started to think maybe he just needed to follow ilmat but that just feels too bleak, it’s the last thing ilmat would want, and it would leave yulani so unimaginably alone and heartbroken

the thing that fucks me up about settings with actual afterlife planes is that i have to contend with the possibility of former lovers meeting AFTER death, which in my PERSONAL opinion kind of complicates moving on to another partner

like maybe i’m overthinking it but tyer and ilmat were soulmates. ilmat will absolutely wait for tyer to eventually join him, and part of tyer will always be waiting to be able to do just that. so what the hell happens if tyer also falls in love with someone else during his life

idrk that he would or even could but what if?? like he dies first and then his second husband dies sometime after, expecting tyer to be waiting for him, but then he gets to the whatever plane and tyer is like fully afterliving it up with ilmat??? what????
