Sound post adjustment. The more I know of the insides, the more I tend to like it.

Instruments live longer than people. Especially this instrument, it sounds better the more that it is used. I wonder, how will the instruments that I played in my life do with people that come after me?

Having passed through many people's hands, I want this instrument to continue playing forever. ______ Things that get called "old" or "vintage".

"old=good" There is a tendency to say that, but in reality, we can not exactly say that about the materials of that time and preservation of the environment. Rather you could say that things that reflects the latest technology are better.

So the time spent on it creates an irreplicable personality. There is a charm to it that can only be achieved that way. ______ By the way, the sound post is a part characteristic to the instruments of the violin kind.

With the rod being stuck in between the front plate and the back plate, the vibrations from the front plate go through the sound post and resonate the back, which causes the sound to go through the entire body of the intrument.

String→bridg→front plate→sound post→back plate that is how it spreads. That is the wisdom of playing efficiently. ______ The problem is this sound post. Like the bridge, it isn't glued to the entirety of the instrument.

As it is held together only by the pressure created between the front and the back plate with the tension of the strings, during transport and such it can get displaced, or even fall out. If that happens, a repair becomes necessary, so it's important to be careful.

My basic ideas and ways of thinking have not changed from long ago, but it is undoubtedly thanks to the band and the environment surrounding me that I could question and sublimate* them. This general but truly extraordinary thought, "enjoy your life" - you can only do that if you have many different experiences. (*Honestly? I have no idea what he means here. Literally just says sublimation, I can not find any other meaning, but it makes no sense??0 _____ It is better to embody a thing yourself, rather than seek it in a third party. Be it music, makeup or fashion. There are countless more expressions and ideologies than those, and whether those suit or do not suit a person is individual. Everything is an experience. That's the reason why I ended up changing my way of life, I think. I'm glad I ended up shaving my eyebrows at that time.

On September 2nd, the acoustic&rockabilly oneman tour BOOGIE CAT'S NIGHT started.

I'm happy when I can show you how differently interesting the contrabass is from the electric bass.

The way of playing rockabilly is mostly different based on the way the instrument is set. _____ I feel that the strings of a contrabass have more personality compared to electric bass strings. Although BLAST CULT strings are of great interest to me, their weak spot is being unsuitable for playing using a bow, with low string tension.

However, that unique feeling of playing is a rare gem I want to personally experience by all means. _____ August passed in a flash. Surely September will be the same.

The other day, LIPHLICH's acoustic rockabilly tour started.

It had an upbeat, boogie woogie kinda presentation and arrangement different from any other acoustic lives I've played.

It's acoustic, but it's an acoustic rock'n'roll tour. _____ Today I came across really good rubber. _____ Recently I have had more frequent opportunities to play the contrabass, so I've been improving steadily.

The truth is, the variety of strings here is much greater than for the electric bass, and so it creates the need to change the strings based on the genre.

Above all I have liked SPIROCORE's solo tuning strings, as they are suitable for playing with both your fingers and a bow, and can withstand aggressive playing.  _____ By the way, solo tuning strings are strings that are intended to be used if you want to raise the individual sounds in regular bass tuning (E.A.D.G) to F#.B.E.A..

As the name suggests, they are strings aimed at soloists. _____ The freedom of music is the freedom of expression. That passes on to makeup and fashion.

I have installed a pick-up to solve this. "GOLD 999.9" Ah, it's already great. With this, my options have expanded even more. _____ "GOLD 999.9" The one that I've installed is TYPE D, but the audio feedback that posed a problem with the magnetic one until now has been resolved. The impression and tone color of the sound that I've recorded is close to a fretless bass, it is effective when I want to bring that nuance out. I feel that this is more easy to use for rock and pop. _____ On the other hand, I like the piezo about the "Realist" one that I've been using until now. If you really compare them, on this one you can record a more contrabass-like sound. Because this is an instrument with charming body resonance. If you want a sound you can not make on a fretless bass, it's definitely this. However, it's unfit for performing with a band that only plays up to a certain volume. _____ I want to record a contrabass-like sound. In that case, of course a mic is ideal. If you arrange the environment, the sound will not be "like" it, but it will convey the sound as is. So I think it's better to stop using that at band performances. What is it? A bass made of wood? Because it's the easiest to use even around the world, I call it a contrabass. (*wasei eigo - Japanese-made pseudo-anglicisms that were usually created by mashing together other English words to name other things. Stuff like salaryman, newhalf, etc.) ______ The upright bass that I usually use at lives (Eng: Upright Bass) is formally called an electric upright bass (Eng: Electric Upright Bass). The album recording has started.

When we create new work, we set a theme for the creation of each one, but the personal challenges and experiments must be faced by each of us individually.

The producer is the one to integrate them into the work's theme; it's fun to create that with the band.

The seeds that popped up from somewhere are sprouting. _____ My approach for Youki na Noir was the pursuit of cinematic sound. Shinda me wo shita otoko is the result.

For this album, my approach is destroying the image I have of myself as a bassist.

Into CLUB FLEURET I shall put a kind of play never before associated with me. _____ During production I tend to get very isolated. At this time more than ever, training and food raise my motivation. _____ I often wonder if everything is done as much as possible.*

For new work, we pick a few songs from candidate songs. Some of those may not be used in the new work at the time, but be later incorporated in other works.

Sometimes, those songs get rearranged and become something completely different. It's interesting. That was the reason why.

(*may be a bit inaccurate, but neither me nor my friends really get this sentence, I'm sorry. It's literally one big question mark.) _____ This year's ship performances are also sold out.

Let's make the best music. ____ How pleasant it is. It's utterly amazing when deep bass sounds pass through your body.

But it's the same for both. The point is, whether you found that chance, in whatever time.

Music arrangement is also a skill, but for LIPHLICH lives there is a high jam session element, so lives are this moment, this temporary thing.
