todays beanie is: twitterbug the cicada!
look like random retweets are appearing in your timeline
A number of Twitter users have been complaining that tweets that were retweeted by people they don’t follow are now showing in their timeline. The issue, thankfully, is not related to a new Twitter algorithm or recommendation system, as some had feared. Instead, the company confirmed that a bug affecting Android users was mislabeling the “social proof” tag on Retweets.
This is the part of the Retweet that tells you who, among the people you already do follow, had retweeted the post in question.
The company says that the social proof label is wrong, so the Android users were seeing tweets that looked like they had been retweeted by someone they don’t know.

Twitter Bug Inflated Ad Views on Android App
When it comes to Twitter, the company has seemed to be struggling recently both within the Android market and the general market. The company announced today that the company over-reported the ad views on the Twitter Android app. It was first reported by Business Insider and then later on in the day Twitter came out to verify that the ad view over-inflation did happen on the Android app. Twitter…

Urgent- There's this girl I follow on Twitter and she has an eating disorder. I messaged her a positive message and told her to not worry about the number on the scale and not eating isn't going to make her feel better. That I was therefor her if she wants to talk bc I dealt w/the same thing (I'm in recovery now) I was scrolling through her pictures and she posted of her body. She lost X lbs in two months and looks really thin. I'm super worried but is there a way to help her? -Twitterbug
Hey love,
Have you been keeping in contact with her? Do you talk to her fairly often? You can continue to encourage her to form a positive body image but at the same time encourage her to reach for for help. A lot of times we can’t get through this on our own. A lot of times we do fall into the same disordered eating habits no matter how hard we try. I remember wanting to get better and I felt great about myself but I do restrict. It became habit rather than something that I have to make myself do instead. So talk to her about getting counselling or go to a clinic. Do you think she’s in recovery? Is she eating? Is she trying to eat? These are the kinds of things to be more aware of when you’re helping someone with an eating disorder. I’ve had my fair share of it and my friend and I went through it together. We all challenged the other to eat one day. We said that if we could go three days. If we could eat three meal a day (it doesn’t matter what the portion is just eat) for three days, we would do something to celebrate. We barely made it. it sounds like a really easy goal but we couldn’t even get through the third day without a lot of tears. So kind of encourage her in a more positive way. Give her some sort of good end point to strife forward.
But it is most definitely something that she has to decide for herself, you know? You can be her friend and give her all the tips she wants but unless she really wants it and really tries to get better there isn’t much else. So talk to her as much as possible without damaging your own mental health. But encourage her to seek help as well. There’s a better future. Let me tell you. I drank two glasses of milk a day for the past two weeks. I haven’t done that in three years. I loved milk. But I had to stop because my eating disorder made it impossible to consume dairy. If you know anyone that may know her in real life, try and reach out to them. They can make sure that she’s eating and being healthy but they can also contact her parents if things start to get out of hand. Sometimes we have to be a little ugly to save the people we care about.
