starting to think Xenoblade X Definitive Edition did irreperable damage to my expectations in stories because I was thinking really hard about Ultrakill lore and wondering about how the story's gonna end and I suddenly thought "Hakita is gonna kill everyone and have Hell win with a worst-case scenario, isn't he, we're gonna be stupid for expecting anything hopeful" and I had to physically stop and tell myself the ending isn't out and won't be for a year at least and that we shouldn't jump to conclusions...but like... i'm just accepting it's gonna be a downer ending that kicks the player in the balls already. Like V1 is gonna either die or get stuck in Hell, Gabriel dies, God is revealed to be indeed dead for good, Lucifer is still being tortured, the Machines begin to wage war on Heaven, life on Earth is gone forever and that we, the players, were dumb for having hope at all that Hell could be stopped. Like I'm already expecting the devs to metaphorically shoot me like how Monolith did with that absolute shit and piss mess that was Chapter 13 (and then default dance on my corpse). Idk I really, REALLY hope i'm wrong but i'm not holding my breath for Ultrakill's ending to be even bittersweet. At least Ultrakill renders and I can rest knowing the patches are actually gonna fucking optimize the game somewhat (looking at you xcx switch 2 patch)
