Kubo and the Two Strings (2016) dir. Travis Knight. 7/10

About Kubo looking for the armor that would protect him from his grandfather who took his eye and supposedly killed his dad. His mom is protecting him but only for so long.

This animation style kinda reminds me of the type in Coraline.

I just had so many questions from the getgo. What up with the mom? What up with the magic storytelling? Why are they in the situation that they are in? Who is his family? I have these questions answered, but I questioned so much.

I don’t like when kids have to grow up earlier than they should.

A lot of things reminded me of Coco.

Beetle had a nice humor for me. But, he really freaked me out when I first saw him.

KUBO!  I loved this movie! I wanted this to resemble a paper cut out.

Tbh, Zootopia was good but Two Strings def deserved that award...sorry Disney.

We watched Kubo and the Two Strings. After Kubo described his mom Enzo came over to me and hugged me tight, telling me, "just like you! ... ... Except the fighting spirit. I've never seen your fighting spirit." ENZO. EVERY GODDAM DAY YOU TAX MY FIGHTING SPIRIT AND BEAT IT OUT OF ME. EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY.
