If you're doing those injury illness prompts my I suggest "where did all these scars come from? There's so many..." With jongerrymartin in two sugars? As soft or as angsty as your heart desires
Hnnngh you spoil me! Here we go:
"I just- Where did all these scars come from?" Martin asks in a low whisper. "There's so many of them..."
Across Jon's sleeping form, Gerry gives him a slow nod before responding in kind. "You know how he is."
Martin knows, he really does. Jon's accident-prone condition is a constant stressor pulling at the back of his mind, but this is the first time he's given the scars any conscious thought, with Jon's bare chest and back exposed for him to see each mark in painful clarity. "So what, are these all from falling down the stairs?"
Gerry snorts. A strand of hair falls across his eyes, and Martin reaches over to tuck it back behind his ear, retreating when Gerry moves to run his thumb over the scar on Jon's jawline. "This one is, when he was twelve. He was going to be late for school, and he slipped."
"...I'm guessing he was late after all?" Martin asks with a smile, before leaning to press his lips as softly as he can over the faded pale line. "This one?" he points to a long, jagged one going from Jon's elbow to the middle of his arm.
"They found the Admiral in a tree when he was a kitten." Gerry rolls his eyes. "Georgie's afraid of heights, and Jon thought it would be the perfect end to the date." Again, he traces the scar with the tip of a finger, and Martin follows suit with his lips. They're lucky that Jon's a heavy sleeper when he finally manages to drop.
The scar on Jon's clavicle is from when he fell from his bike at eleven. The one by his hip is from climbing -and falling- over a fence at college. A precise, horizontal cut on the lower right side of abdomen for apendicitis at nineteen. His right hand is burned from trying to stop a girl from playing a stupid prank with some fireworks at college.
"What about this one?" Martin breaks the pattern, and kisses the small cut on the back of Jon's shoulder before Gerry has a chance to trace it.
"Melanie stabbed him. She has a matching one on her leg." Gerry shrugs. "I've been trying to get them both to tell me the story for years, but none of them will speak."
"...Sounds like them alright." And they continue, story after story as they go down Jon’s body.
A thin line by his hairline from a particularly wild concert he accompanied Gerry to when he was sixteen. Jon begins to stir under Martin's lips, when he kisses that one. The scar over his left wrist is from getting into a fight at school with a couple older kids at fourteen, and Gerry's lips tighten when he says it, his eyes darkening the slightest bit.
"It was a bad day for me," Gerry admits after letting Martin lift his hand up to his lips to kiss at his knuckles. "I was- I waited for him to sneak in after school like always, but he never came. We got the call from Ester a bit before supper, from the hospital. Broken wrist, split lip, scraped everything."
"But did he win?" Martin asks, and Gerry's dark expression clears into a proud smile, just as he expected it would.
"Of course he did. Jon fights dirty."
"I think it was justified, if we consider there were two of them." Jon somehow manages to sound both drowsy and sulky when he speaks up, startling the two of them. "It's surprisingly easy to stab someone with a set square, it turns out."
"I forget you're wild sometimes." Martin laughs, delighted at Jon's dignified shrug.
"It was self defense, and I was fourteen." Jon's dark cheeks flush even darker.
"One of them still had the scratches on his face when he came back," Gerry pipes in. "It was amazing."
"Why are we talking about this?" Jon asks, shoving a pillow against Gerry's grinning face.
"I wanted to know about your scars." Martin shrugs. "Gerry was telling me the stories."
"Oh. There's a lot of them. And most are very stupid." Jon sounds almost apologetic, and Martin shakes his head, smiling.
"I want to know them all." Martin leans over him, capturing Jon's lips in a kiss and laughing against his mouth when Gerry whistles at them. "I want to know all of you."
