I had no idea it would be so warm today, but all of a sudden I found myself stripped down to my arms with my tights stuffed in my handbag. Along the Regent’s Canal, half the plots off Kingsland Road seem to have been dug up, and this time next year it will be all glass and brick.  But for now it’s still mostly graffiti and loose paving slabs, locals with rolled up trouserlegs and the Boy and I, watching ducklings learning to swim. The Towpath Café serves an excellent cup of coffee by the way, and so does the Euphorium in Highbury. I have my first Hubba Bubba in about a decade, only to discover that my tongue stud gets in the way of blowing bubbles. With sugary mouths we snog on the pavement, because it’s summer and this town is our friend.
