november prompts! happy writing :)
Day 28: my father calls me
help I haven't done these in like a week October prompts by @two-bees-poetry
[telemachus about dissy]
my father calls me wise
I think he confuses me for Athena
my father calls me thoughtful
I think he still doesn't know who I am
my father calls me so, so often.
I'm glad he's back but sometimes it's just too much
my father doesn't call me weak
he really doesn't know me
my father doesn't call me insolent
like the suitors would
I'm not used to the attention and the love.
Day 22: old soul
@two-bees-poetry October poetry
the sun slipping further and further and further the clock ticks on
every day passes and passes and passes just like that
my soul gets older and older and older though I am not an old soul
Time will slow down; I wait and wait and wait it never does.
never will it wait, give me a break, my breaths shake, it's all fake
never will it wait, give me a break, my breaths shake, it's all fake
never will it wait, give me a break, my breaths shake, it's all fake
If you repeat often enough, it becomes truth.
Day 18: rosary
@two-bees-poetry October prompts
[zoya nazyalensky from grishaverse]
I walk the forgotten streets once more.
I remember Liliyana, and all the children she cared for all the lives she saved.
I remember the little house she lived in.
The warm, welcoming entrance.
The memories flood over me Oh the pain
I clutch the rosary Alina gave me as joke and hope that the power of the saints could give me my aunt back.
Day 12: starving
October prompts inspired by @two-bees-poetry
[Aeneas this time]
so far away so many lost
what could i do
i wasn't there to save my wife
all i cared for was myself.
i'm far too far away from all i've ever known
what could i do
now i'm alone starving alone
is this a punishment for the likes of me
forgive me mother, for i have sinned forgive me father, for i am cruel lady aphrodite will you not aid your son
this world has left me starving.
Day 10: Teddy-bear
October prompts inspired by @two-bees-poetry
[From Eurycleia's perspective]
You've been working here since
Odysseus was born You gave him that little teddy-bear He always carried around
You'd see him take it out Whenever He was upset
Now he's been away For 20 years; fighting Then left to the mercy of Poseidon
You've been working here long enough
To see little Ody's son born Give him that teddy-bear His father loved so much
You see him take it out Whenever He prays for his father's safe
return.
