You know you’re friends when you spend five minutes screaming BROOOOOOOO at each other on skype
Yup. Two and a half hours of story telling with the lady is a super good way to end a day.
twobrokenmirrors said: go have a drink of water and a lie down somewhere dark and quiet, maybe? soft music or a comforting tv show might help
yeah ive got a drink and im lying in bed doing coursework
thanks
20, 29, 30? =P
20: would you rather be in Middle Earth, Narnia, Hogwarts, or somewhere else?I think I'd like to be in Neverland. Or in the fantasy world I've spent two years developing with you, maybe. It's a place I'd feel happy calling 'home'. I'd also get to whack my stupid angels over the head for being daft. Win/win sitch tbh.
29: three songs that you connect with right now.Always Running Out Of Time, Where I belong, and Son Of A Gun by Motion City Soundtrack. They write a lot of relatable songs.
30: pick one of your favorite quotes.Uuuuhm. I'm not actually all that spectacular at quotes. I am fond of this one by Van Gogh, though: "But what I wanted to say is this: after the period of melancholy is over you will be stronger than before, you will recover your health, and you will find the scenery round you so beautiful that you will want to do nothing but paint." Kind of just. Speaks volumes to me.
Uhmmmm do Merc and Marsh. =P
Merc
2-4 songs that are probably on their iPod:Anything from the 70s or 80s, effectively. The likes of Holding Out For A Hero, Take On Me, 99 Red Balloons, etc are bound to be found. Anything hugely cheesy or romantic and with a lot of synth, basically. You’d also find a lot of comedy music on there, ranging from NSP’s No Reason Boner or Dinosaur Laser Fight to Amateur Transplant’s Paracetamoxyfrusebendroneomycin, to Victoria Wood’s The Ballad Of Freda And Barry. Probably also the likes of The Bricklayer’s Song and Yer Losin’ Them by The Corries. Oh, and virtually anything by The Muppets. Sorry, 2-4 songs, was it? the one place they sometimes end up falling asleep — where they’re not supposed to:On his keyboard. While it’s still turned on. His neighbours must enjoy the sound of one steady blaring synth note interspersed with snoring and multiple-note jams.the game they’d destroy everyone else at:Monopoly, I think. Digital or otherwise, he will wipe the floor with your sorry ass if you go up against him at Monopoly. Or Twister but that’s more because he’s tall and lanky and good at staying in the same position for extended periods.the emoticon they’d use most often:B]what they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep:Dopey as fuck. He’ll wander around half-horizontal and walk into things and giggle at the slightest provocation and just generally look a bit like he’s smoked something he maybe wasn’t meant to.their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights. or mornings. or whenever:Tea for the mornings or the anytimes. Plain milky-brew tea with a tiny dash of honey or various aromatic or fruit teas, he’ll take any. Evenings get hot cocoa though, like his mum makes. Dark and smooth and probably very good at putting him to sleep.how they like to comfort/care for themselves when they’re in a slump:With cheesy music and hot homemade food. And a video of one of his favourite comedians. Or just with hugs, depending on how slumpy he’s feeling.what they wanted to be when they grew up:A comedian, preferably like the ones that did the songs his mummy liked to share with him. Sadly he inherited mother’s Death Powers and became Grim Reaper Apprentice #2. He still does improv comedy workshops and plays lots of synthy keyboard to make up for this, though.their favorite kind of weather:Hot sunny days when it rains and it’s refreshing as a result. He’ll piss himself and take off if that turns to thunder and lightning, though.thoughts on their singing voice (decent? terrible? soprano? alto?):Pretty fucking spectacular. Mother’s a Chorister and they’re pretty much created to have astounding singing voices - and that’s inherited by literally all of their kids. Merc himself is a tenor, I think, and fantastic with it.how/what they like to draw or doodle: Dinosaurs. Reptiles in general, really, but he loves drawing chunky little dinosaurs. Or dragons, if he particularly wants the dinosaurs to be breathing fire that day.
And Now Marsh!
2-4 songs that are probably on their iPod:Probably mostly songs from musicals, I think. More often than not you'll catch him listening to the soundtracks of Avenue Q, Urinetown, Spring Awakening, and then a generous dash of jazz and Nina Simone and stuff.the one place they sometimes end up falling asleep — where they’re not supposed to:At the desk with his computer, mostly, I think. Especially when he was still in college.the game they’d destroy everyone else at:Street Fighter, without doubt. Also any of the Trauma Centre games. Marsh’ll kick your ass, he’ll kick your dog’s ass, he’ll kick his own ass, he doesn’t give a fuck.the emoticon they’d use most often::)what they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep:Grouchy. Turns into a teeny little grinch, huffing and grumbling and probably screaming at the kettle for not boiling the water even though he’s not switched it on. Bit of a terror, really.their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights. or mornings. or whenever:Tea. Always tea. Marsh is a tea drinking machine at any time of the day. He’s got making it down to a fine art.how they like to comfort/care for themselves when they’re in a slump:By going and chilling out with his twin, Bell, mostly. I imagine he likes to request simple movies they watched when they were kids coupled with pizza and tea and various snacks and snuggles.what they wanted to be when they grew up:A healer, just like mummy. He has achieved this, though not without a great deal of stress, anxiety, and a couple of breakdowns. Still, he managed it quite nicely.their favorite kind of weather:Rain. The kind that trickles down the windows and rattles the leaves on the trees. He likes watching it with a mug of tea.thoughts on their singing voice (decent? terrible? soprano? alto?):Like Merc, Marshy is a Chorister’s son and therefore has an astounding voice. Specifically, a soft, clear tenor voice. He sings in a little mini-choir with Bell and their four younger siblings. It’s cute as heckie and terribly impressive, really.how/what they like to draw or doodle: Medical diagrams, stars and suns, clouds, bubbles, seaweed and fish, and trees that look like they’ve come straight out of the wizard of oz though (usually) with less throwing apples at people.
