Slice of life: how was the Plargos doing financially when Argos need to take his time off work for pregnancy? He's literally the breadwinner in this family.

First of all!!! And i'll get to your question in a minute, BUT FIRST OF ALL This brings me back to my headcannon i wrote a while ago!!!
on an old deleted account again i think... I don't remember.
BUT
I had this headcannon that Mr. Plant is secretly loaded.
Cause like, think about it! How tf does he support himself if the only time he works is when his fucking tv is broken? And he doesn't seem to have problems working or finding a jobs when it comes down to it.

This fucker is just so nonchalant about his situation it feels to me like he's got the means to not have to worry about it so much.
But he's the type of rich person you wouldn't even know is rich by looking at them.
He lives a totally average life and doesn't even THINK about buying extravagantly.
The type of guy to think, "i don't NEED to spend money on this situation, especially if there's another way, but i will if i have to.
Let's try other avenues before we go down the spending route..."
But basically, his ass just sits on his money 24/7 and he only spends what he needs to spend.
No more no less.
Like, he probably grew up either an average kid or somewhere near or around the poverty line and then came across that amount of money later in life.
In the original post though, I was thinking it was some kind of inheritance, but I've kept rolling this idea around in my head since then.
Especially when we finally got to learn about Mr. Plant's dad.
I like the idea that Mr. Plant Sr. Probably sends money out to the ex and the kid in place of him being an actual father.
We also see that the man is a gambler among other things.
I love to think he won big. Real big one day and decided, "hey, this amount of money might mean i don't ever have to think about them ever again!!!" So, shoved a huge lump of that money into Mrs. Banana Leaf's bank account and went M.I.A. or something i dunno.
That money eventually went to Mr. Plant Jr.
But unlike his dad- who i am positive managed to blow all of that in less than a year, Mr. Plant knew that nothing lasts forever. So he sits on his dragon horde of cash (well he keeps it in his account but you know what i mean) and forgets about it most of the time.
I don't imagine Mr. Plant is like... Billionaire rich or anything, but he does have more than he knows- or cares to do anything with.
BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THE KIDS and Argos having to take time off for a while to look after them, Mr. Plant will spend what he needs to and make sure Argos only has to focus on and worry about the lil bbs.
Meanwhile, I think Argos would be absolutely FLOORED to find out Mr. Plant has so much in the bank. 🤭
Especially when I like to headcanon that while all the voids in the neighbourhood they live in look exactly the same on the inside, Argos and Mr. Flower have theirs decorated as best as possible to give those plain, cookie cutter, monotonous ass things a little bit of personality,
Meanwhile, Mr. Plant has like...
A bed... a couch... and a tv.
Like boi, why you choose to live like this??? Get yourself a fucking dining set or SOMETHING put some paintings on the walls- make them framed art of tvs, i don't fucking care, do SOMETHING with that money of yours!!
But yeah, I'm not sure how much Mr. Plant would spoil the kids... Not to the degree Argos would want to i think, but I do think those kids 100% will never go without anything they need.
They WILL have their needs met.
But I also 100% feel like Mr. Plant's and Argos' definitions of gift giving and spoiling when it comes to the twins are just a little bit different...
If Chelsea wants a swiss army knife to take to school, why not get her one?
