May 16th: How do others’ pain affect me?

2 of Cups inverted. The pain of others places me out of alignment. Sometimes I know what to do, but sometimes I am frozen out of concern for overstepping social and personal boundaries, or out of being unable to determine what someone needs from me most in their moment of pain, knowing that asking myself what I would want, in their position, is not necessarily healthy. This has the counterintuitive effect of distancing myself from others.
