Celeste enters the Avengers building and walks to the security. They check for any weapon, "all clear. You can go." Celeste takes her belongings back and walks to Tony's office. When she enters the main room, she sees some of the Avengers. "Is Stark here?" Steve stands up, "who's asking?", "A friend." Answers Celeste. Bucky stands next to Steve. Celeste looks at him then at Steve. "Celeste Carter. I got something that belongs to him.", "I'll get him." Celeste looks over Steve's shoulder and sees Vision, she nods.
Vision enters Tony's office without knocking, "how many times have I to tell you to knock before entering any room.", "Perhaps this time you'll let it go. A friend of yours is here to see you. She calls herself Celeste Carter." Tony looks up from his computer and leans back in his chair. "This ain't good.", "Pardon?", "Nothing. Nothing." Tony stands up and unbuttons his jacket. They both walk to the main room where Celeste and the other Avengers are. "Celeste Carter." Tony holds his hands in the air, arms open, Celeste crosses her arms. "Tony we have to talk. Now.", "Well, why don't we do this here, in front of witnesses and superheroes?", "Tony." He grimaces and sighs. "After you." They walk to Tony's office, Tony closes the door after him. "What can I do for you, Celeste?", "I thought I told you not to give my parents any dime." He scratches the back of his neck nervously. Celeste rolls her eyes. "Yes, I found out. I'm not stupid, Tony. My parents are not capable of finding this amount of money on such short-term notice." She takes a check out of her jacket and puts it on his desk. "I can deal with it myself, I always have.", "Yes, and look at you! You worry more about your parents than you take care of yourself. Celeste, just accept this check, please.", "And owe you? No. I made it this far without owing anybody.", "You don't have to owe me anything! That's just what friends do!", "No! I said no, Tony! I'm not taking your money! Friends listen to each other, let the other rant on and on, but they unquestionably do not put one another into this position! If I come to you it's because you will be here to listen, it's because you're the only person I trust and can rant to without feeling judged! I didn't ask for your money." Celeste walks past Tony and leaves the office, Tony follows her, angry. When they both re-enter the main room, the team is still here, they turn around and look at them. "It's not just about my damn money, Carter. You don't want my help. You think you can deal with this by yourself but you can't! Yes, you've done it many years but for God's sake just let me help you!" Celeste stops walking, Tony almost bumps into her. She slowly turns around. "I don't want your pity, Stark. You can shove your money up your ass. I just asked for a friend. Not a banker!", "But I want to help you! That's what friends do!", "Oh come on!" Celeste throws her hands in the air. "Tony, I didn't ask you to repair my parents' mess, I just asked for your support, moral support, not financial! A friend would've understood that.", "You know what a friend would've never done? He would never have pointed out the weight you lost from worrying too much, you selling your family jewelry, or working three jobs. He would never have pointed out how tired you look!" Celeste looks at Tony, speechless. Silence falls upon the whole room. Celeste nods and turns around, leaving the building. Tony turns around and walks to his office. No one of the team talks, shocked by what just happened. "Perhaps we should see how Mr. Stark feels after this encounter." Wanda puts her hand on his arm and shakes her head. "No, Vision. Just leave him alone." She gently smiles at him. Bucky stands up and walks to the windows, he looks outside and watches Celeste get in her car, a frown on his face.
Tony avoided everyone the whole day, dismissing anyone that would knock on his door or catch him outside of his office. He was tense, and everyone could feel it. "I hate this mood." Says Bucky, frowning. "It's uncomfortable." Steve raises his eyebrows. "You're okay?", "Human feelings, or moods. I didn't fully catch up on it.", "Yeah, me neither. Tony's pretty pissed though.", "Well, he's in the wrong, anyway." Steve sits straight. "Actually, no he's not. He just wanted to help her.", "And she didn't want him to. Steve, before you became Captain America, everytime you got into a fight, and I would try to help you, you pushed me away, saying 'I can take care of myself' or 'I could do this all day.' But you really couldn't.", "Yeah, well, it's different.", "How come?" Steve was about to answer when Celeste entered to room, "where is he?" Bucky grimaces, "his office." Celeste walks into Tony's office. She opens the door and slams it shut. Tony jumps, surprised. "I'm going to kill you, Stark.", "Wait—" He stands up and puts his hand in the air, "—just hear me out.", "Ten seconds.", "I know how much you love those pieces of jewelry, so I thought that maybe if I found a way to—," "You are listening to my phone calls! What the hell, Tony?!", "I admit I've been a bit too far—," "A bit too far?! A bit too far! You've got to be kidding me. I'm going to kick your ass, Stark. I can't believe you've—" Celeste is cut when something broke the window of Tony's office, exploding. Both of them are on the ground. After a moment and a ringing noise in her ears, Celeste looks around, "Tony?!" Tony stands up and takes her arm, "come on, run. Go!" The alarm in the building rings. They leave the office and run to the main room. "What the hell was that?" Asks Steve. "I don't know! It was in perfect timing with Celeste's threats, though.", "Oh come on, Stark. If I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead by now. Trust me.", "Anyway, we need to find out what happened and who did this." Tony looks at Celeste. "What?" He raises his eyebrow, and she sighs. "No. Whatever is in your mind, just no." Bucky looks at Steve with a confused look, Steve shrugs. "Care to explain?" Tony looks at Celeste. "Come on.", "What?", "Bring her." Celeste's eyes widen, "no. No way.", "We need her! You know it, just get back in there!", "No!", "Celeste, someone tried to kill us.", "Kill you. You. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Not my fault if you've got too many enemies.", "Like you got none!", "I'm not bringing her back!" Another explosion hits the building. Steve, Bucky, and Tony look at Celeste. "Carter.", "Fine! Fine. Just give me my suit.", "Suit?" demands Bucky, confused. Tony raises an eyebrow, but can't help the smirk on his face. "What makes you think I kept it?", "You're Tony Stark! You just don't give up!" Tony smirks. "I hate you.", "It's a lie." Celeste rolls her eyes. Tony turns to Steve and Bucky. "Call everyone in." Steve nods. Celeste and Tony leave the room.
Celeste and Tony enter the main room where all of the Avengers are. She has a combat suit on her, Tony smiles. "When I thought I'd never wear this." Says Celeste, looking down at herself. "It's been a while, Indigo Fighter." Celeste rolls her eyes at Tony's remark before he focuses himself on The Team. "Okay, so what the hell happened back there?" Natasha shows on a screen the damages on the building. "The south and west wings are touched.", "Okay. Bucky, Steve, Nat, west wing." The three of them nod and leave the main room. Tony looks at Sam and Celeste, "and the three of us, my office." Tony leads the way to his office, Sam and Celeste following him. "I've heard about you, you know." Celeste looks at Sam who had a smirk on his face. "I mean, I've heard about Indigo Fighter.", "Yeah, well, she's dead. Gone.", "Seems like Tony isn't ready to let go.", "Is he ever?" Sam doesn't answer. They get inside the office. Sam flies out of the room and looks at the damages. "Scan everything." Sam pushes a little button on his goggles, scanning the explosion location. Celeste looks around the room for any hidden camera or micro. She hears a sound behind the door, she turns around quickly and sees someone passing fast. "Shit. Someone's here." Tony and Sam look at her. "You guys stay here and figure it out. I got it." She leaves the room and looks around, no weapon in hands. "Whoever you are, you're cornered. It's a building full of Avengers and most incredible agents. You have no way out." She walks slowly and quietly. Then the stranger runs out of the room, Celeste follows him. "Steve, someone's here, he's coming your way.", "Got it."
"Guys get ready. Someone's coming." Just as Steve finished his sentence, the man and Celeste arrived at the door. Bucky looks at Steve. "Stay in position." Bucky nods. Celeste slides and kicks the man in the ankle making him fall. She stands up quickly, so does he. He throws a punch at her, Celeste dodges, grabs his wrist, twists it and brings his arm behind him. She kicks his knee, making him fall to the ground. "Got you." Steve smiles, him, Natasha, and Bucky walk to her. "Who are you working with?" The man looks at Steve and smiles, he then looks away. "Fine. Let's just bring him to a cell." Celeste makes him stand up. "You move and snap your neck." The man laughs. Natasha smacks his head, "if you think she's joking, you're playing with fire." Natasha and Celeste look at each other and smile. "Fighter." Natasha nods at Celeste. "Widow." Celeste does the same.
"You have no weapon on you." Celeste shrugs at Bucky's remark, "I don't like guns. I mean, I know how to use it. But I don't like them. Even more, wearing them, it's heavy and hard to fight with.", "You sound like Nat.", "We trained a lot together." Bucky comes and sits next to Celeste. "How did you become Indigo Fighter?", "H.Y.D.R.A kidnapped me when I was a newbie at S.H.I.E.L.D. They thought I had some kind of information or whatsoever. Turns out the only location I could give them was where the changing room was." Bucky scoffed. "They kept me for three years. For the first year, they tortured me. Then they saw that I wasn't going to give anything up. So they tried to use me as an asset. I didn't want to, but I needed to learn how to fight better, how they fight. So I played their game, made them think I was with them. I learn their techniques, their secrets, I became them. Then, when I was strong enough to fight my way out of there, I did. But it wasn't safe and sound. Three bullets in the right leg, I walked as much as I could until I fell. I lost so much blood, but thanks to some people that rescued me, healed and took care of me, I'm still alive. I stayed with them four years, they also trained me, way more and better than H.Y.D.R.A. More complicated. When they felt like I was ready to go back to my world, they let me go. When I came back, a lot of things changed. The Avengers and everything. Tony tried to hire me, the S.H.I.E.L.D too, but I said no. So, I went and worked for Tony for a moment. Then I met Nat. But, no matter how much I trained and helped people, I vowed to never go back to this world.", "But here you are." Celeste looks at her hand that was injured when the explosion happened in Tony's office. "Indigo Fighter died when she came back here. But no matter what, there is always someone who wants her to come back." Bucky looks at her, "you're a legend here. I keep hearing agents talking about you. Sam is acting like a little boy. Tony's smiling all the time.", "I'm not coming back." Celeste shakes her head, looking in front of her. "Can I ask you something?" She turns and looks at Bucky. "Sure.", "What were you and Tony fighting about?" Celeste smiles and looks at her hand. Bucky studies her face closely. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked.", "I've known Tony for quite some time now. He always tried to fix things for me. But this time this isn't something he should fix—", "I don't think this is something you should fix either, Celeste. From what I've heard, you've done already enough.", "They are my parents, Bucky.", "And you're their daughter, not their savior. Nor their mom.", "Gosh, you sound like Tony." Bucky grimaces, making Celeste laugh. "What if you come back and work for Tony? I mean, this could help you.", "And he would win.", "So this is what it is all about now?", "Kinda, yeah. I'm going to find a way. I will." Celeste smiles at Bucky, a smile that didn't even look 100% real. "I've heard a lot about you, too. Winter Soldier." Bucky has a look of guilt and regret. "I know what H.Y.D.R.A. does to someone, I do. Whatever you've done, this is not your fault. It's theirs. All you can do is use this anger to destroy them, to make them pay, but to be better than them.", "I wish it was this easy.", "It's not. It's something you have to train for, just as you trained to become The Winter Soldier.", "I've done things—" Bucky doesn't finish his sentence, Celeste looks at him, not talking, letting him finish his sentence. "Even if they made me do it, I've done them, I remember all of them. They haunt me every night. And if I'm lucky, I can go a day without any ghosts.", "Since when a soldier relies on being lucky? You've got to make it happen. What do you do when a battle is in front of you, when an opponent has a weapon?", "I fight.", "So what are you waiting for? This is a battle to be won, Bucky. Nothing you don't know.", "Then let's make a deal."
