Is it possible you could write a fic showing Megami's pov when finding out about Yuu, and the attempts at getting her from the 'Villian school'?
Thank you for the ask, dear anon!
“—and five, six, seven, eig-ah! Wake up, Sherpie!”
“Whuh-huh?” The sleepy second year snaps up from where his head had been drooping. “Wha’s going on?”
“You started dozing while dancing again!” Hop laughs while Dominic shakes his head. “Honestly Sherpie, I know it’s tiring, but stick with it okay? We’re almost there, so we’ll start again and—”
“Oh come on!” Gran drags his hands down his face. “This is the sixth time we’ve had t’restart cuz of you guys! We’ll never be ready for the VDC at this rate!”
Dominic frowns, folding his arms. “Not with that attitude, we won’t. Why don’t you try just thinking more positive?”
Gran makes a noise not unlike a mine cart derailing. “Why don’t you take your positive thinking and—!”
“Hey, hey everyone!” Neige LeBlanche holds his hands out between his friends. “Why don’t we all take a break? We’ve been practicing for so long, even I’m tired—”
A knock on the doorframe has eight eyes swiveling to look.
The young lady standing there smiles sheepishly and holds a platter aloft. “U-um, I was wondering if you guys would like some fruit? I have orange slices, and pears too…”
“Fruit slices!!”
“Yay yay, thanks Megami-chan!”
“That would be n-ah-aH-aACHOO!”
“Bless you, Snick-senpai!” Karatsumori Megami says as she kneels down to proffer the snacks to her upperclassmen, the bottom third of her braid trailing on the floor. “I’m sorry I can only support you all this much, b-but my sister always had fruit whenever she’d get in from track practice! S-so I thought…”
“This is wonderful, Megami-chan.” Neige smiles warmly as he takes a slice of pear. “Thank you so much for your consideration.”
“It’s no trouble, Neige-senpai, truly!” She beams. “After all, supporting you guys is what anyone at the Royal Sword Academy would do! H-how is it going, by the way…?”
Five groans and one giggle greets her question. Neige himself uses the fact his mouth is full of pear to delicately avoid answering.
A small hand pats Megami’s arm. When she looks, Tobey offers her a thumbs up, a wide grin revealing the orange slice he’s stuck into his mouth. “Ah! That’s no good, Tobey-senpai! You could choke!”
“I-it hasn’t been t-terrible…” Timmy ventures, only to shrink back with an “Eep!” when Gran interjects, “Yes! Yes it has!! If Timmy isn’t getting embarrassed by himself in the mirror, then Sherpie’s falling asleep while dancing, or Snick sneezes so hard he loses count, or Hop and Tobey are playing around doing their own thing, or—!!!”
“Or Gran’s getting all mad and yells at us while he messes up too!” Hop’s hand is in the air like he’s answering a question in class, seemingly oblivious to the irritation this addition causes.
“Y-yeah, well!” Gran blusters, arms folded across his chest. “You guys are really good at this when you try! But, but you never all try at the same time, and it’s so, so ANNOYING!!”
“Remember the exercises Headmaster Ambrose taught you?” Dominic adds helpfully. Then, slightly less helpfully. “This isn’t something you need to get so upset over, you know?”
“Yes it is!!” The frustrated second-year protests. “Cuz I wanna show everyone how good we are! I dun wanna lose to dumb ol’ Night Raven College!”
“Night Raven College…?” Megami’s head tilts to the side. “What’s that?”
“School at the top!” Tobey chirps as he grabs a second orange slice, unfazed by Gran’s screech of “NO THEY’RE NOT!!”
“To-Tobey means i-it’s the sch-school for magic at the other end o-of Sage’s Island. I-I think i-it’s on a hill?” Timmy ventures quietly, before shrinking back behind his bangs. “Th-they’re scary…”
“An’ rude.” Snick adds with a mighty sniff. “They neber say ‘bless you’ when someone sneezes.”
“…’s hard to rest when they’re around…” Sherpie mutters around the last pear slice. “So creepy…”
“I dunno if they know how to smile!” Hop volunteers brightly. “I wanna make ‘em laugh!”
“I-it’s true that they’ve been Royal Sword Academy’s rivals since our founding, in sports, academics, and prestige.” Dominic explains, adjusting his glasses. “But still, it must be said that some, or well, most of them can be kind of…well, you know…unsettling.”
“Now everyone, that’s rather unkind.” Neige cuts in, a frown on his usually cheerful face. “Just because they’re our competition doesn’t mean we need to behave disrespectfully towards them, or that we can’t be friends. After all, Vil-kun goes to Night Raven College, doesn’t he? Their VDC team is probably treating this as a fun event to show off their talents and enjoy themselves too, so we shouldn’t stress either, right?”
A chorus of reluctant murmurs rises as Megami carefully ventures. “U-um, if it’s alright for me to ask, who is Vil-kun, Neige-senpai?”
The beam that breaks across Neige’s face is nearly blinding in its gentle beauty. “Vil Schoenheit-kun is someone I consider a dear coworker. We debuted in acting at around the same times, so we’ve starred in many productions together. He’s always really refined and professional, and is always a pleasure to work with. I hear he’s leading Night Raven College’s VDC team this year as well! I’ve always hoped to become better friends with him, but with how busy we both are…”
“He sounds wonderful.” Megami smiles fondly. “It seems like you really admire him, Neige-senpai.”
“Of course I admire him.” Neige says, with a small, wistful grin. “Vil-kun’s a really skilled actor, he has been ever since we were kids. Everyone knows how good he is, which is why he always gets the most complex roles—I’ve never seen anyone else match up to his emotional range! I’m honored to be able to share so many stages with him, honestly.”
“But Neidge alwadys plays th’ good guys.” Snick declares stuffily. “I like ‘im in movies more tha-ah-ahCHOO!”
“B-bless you…” Timmy stammers as Hop cheers. “Yeah! When Neige comes on, it’s like, peace, peace! Yay for happily ever after!”
“Ah, but the happily ever afters of the parts I play wouldn’t shine nearly as bright if Vil-kun weren’t there to act against them.” Neige points out with a raised finger. Then, with both his finger and body curling inwards, he admits, “That’s why my agent keeps trying to get me as many roles and spots as he can now, even if it cuts into my school time. He says I need to take advantage of doing the best I can while I’m still…well, never mind that, okay?”
“Neige-senpai…” Megami’s clasped hands squeeze together in front of her chest.
A sudden bright ping! breaks the tense atmosphere.
Neige fishes a phone out of his pocket and his expression immediately brightens. “Oh! Vil-kun posted on Magicam!”
“Wh-what is it?”
“I wanna see!”
“Yay, me too!”
“Me thr-a-ah-choo!”
“…’less you.”
“Hmph, it’s probably something dumb.”
“Hush you, Neige, could you lower the phone? Ah, Megami-chan, you too!”
At Dominic’s invitation, Megami finds herself slightly squished into the group as they crowd around the phone to watch a video of a beautiful blond man drinking from a bottle of amber liquid.
“Uh-oh…” Sherpie mumbles as the promotion goes on, while Gran sternly says. “Neige, no.”
Megami blinks in confusion between the dwarves’ serious faces and the conflict on Neige LeBlanche’s. “H-huh? What’s wrong?”
“It’s a bit of a delicate matter, Megami-chan…” Dominic starts diplomatically. Timmy nods frantically. “Y-yes, it-it’s just—”
“Neige has terrible apple luck!” Tobey proclaims boldly.
At the understandable bewilderment on Megami’s face in response to that nonsensical statement, Neige chuckles sheepishly. “I, ah. Well, it may be easier to say that as much as I like apples, I’ve never met one that likes me?”
“Ebery time he tries to eat one, somethin’ bad hapbens. Wormbs, rot, mold, or worse…” Snick shudders with the air of a traumatized soldier.
“He can’t even eat apple candy or apple pastries or drink apple juice!” Hop adds. “It’s really concerning!”
“Not that that stops this dummy from trying.” Gran grumbles. “We just have to do our best t’keep him away from temptation.”
“I’d be in big trouble without these guys looking out for me.” Neige scratches his cheek. “I’m sorry for the trouble, truly.”
“W-well, I do think it looks very ta-ah.” Megami’s eyes widen as the promotional video draws to a close.
“Ah-AAAAAAAAAHH!!”
“Wh-what the heck?!” Gran yelps. “What’re you shouting for all of a sudden?!”
“Did you see something fun?” Hop interjects as Snick asks, “Are you feeling sick?”
“Me-Me-Me-!” Timmy stutters, before Tobey finishes, “Megami-chan’s okay?!”
“Give her some space!” Dominic orders as Neige places a concerned hand on his underclassman’s shoulder. “Megami-chan, what’s wrong? What happened?”
“Si-sis—!” Is all the Ward of Royal Sword Academy can get out before she seems to get ahold of herself. “Neige-senpai, please go back to the last few seconds of that video!”
“H-huh? Okay…”
All eyes are glued to the screen as the video re-runs, before Megami stabs a finger at the screen. “There! Over Schoenheit-san’s shoulder!”
The video is set in a gleaming dance practice studio, filled with mirrors that are flawlessly polished. The one Vil Schoenheit finishes the video in front of not only reflects him, but the indistinct figure of the person filming him too.
“That’s a videographer, Megami-chan!” Hop chirps helpfully. “Vil-kun can get people like that to film him for his Magicam posts!”
“I-I know, Hop-senpai.” Megami says shakily, eyes fixed and desperate. “I just—! It’s so hard to make out, but when I saw that person, I thought…”
“You thought?” Dominic prompts gently.
“…I thought it was someone very dear to me who I haven’t seen in forever.” Megami admits, head hanging low. “Someone from my world.”
There’s a collective intake of breath.
“Megami-chan…” Neige murmurs, wrapping an arm around the girl’s shoulders as she struggles to blink back tears.
“But that’s the Prefect of Night Raven, nya?”
Megami shrieks, launching herself into Neige’s arms at the sound of the disembodied head next to her chiming in.
“Ch-Che’nya!” Neige stutters as he attempts to juggle being welcoming in his flustered state. “So it was just you. How are you today?”
“DON’T DO THAT!!” Gran howls from his position halfway up Dominic.
“But I’m not doing a-nya-thing?” The upperclassman’s grin is brilliant as the rest of his body fades into view to accept high fives from Hop and Tobey. “Doing and being are as different as chestnuts and chess pieces, Gran-kun, and can you really ask me not to be or not be too Artemiy Artemiyevich Pinker, nya?”
Gran visibly wrestles with that philosophical nonsense while Megami extracts herself from Neige’s lap. “S-sorry for screaming, Che’nya-senpai. B-but what do you mean, the Prefect of Night Raven?”
“Didn’t you know?” Che’nya’s grin curls as he plops himself down onto the floor, his tail swishing lazily from side to side. “Nyight Raven College currently has a special two-in-one first year student. A Prefect paired with a dire beast, nya.”
“A dire beast?!” Dominic exclaims, readjusting his glasses. Timmy quavers, “A-aren’t those dangerous?”
“Maybe?” Che’nya’s head rolls on his shoulders until his grin becomes a bright half moon. “Maybe not? But Grim-nya the dire beast has magic while the Prefect has none?”
“!”
“I thought Night Raven College didn’t accept students without ma-aH-AHCHOO!” Snick sneezes. Sherpie mumbles as his head droops,“…Royal Sword Academy doesn’t either…”
“Do you have any pictures, Che’nya-senpai?!” Megami demands. “Of that magicless Prefect?!”
“Of course, kitten.” Che’nya ruffles her bangs as his tail retrieves his phone from his pocket and drops it into a waiting hand. “Hanging out with Trey-kun and Riddle-kun is so much fun, even if I wasn’t technically invited to their Unbirthday Parties, nya.”
When he turns the phone back around, the VDC team and Megami are able to see a shot of three lively-looking students. A ginger boy with a heart painted on his left eye shuffling a deck of cards. A blue haired boy with a spade painted on his right eye gesturing stiffly with paintbrush dripping red paint. And a grey dire beast perching on the shoulders of—
“Yuu-chan.” Megami chokes out, hands pressed to her mouth to stifle her sobs. “I-it’s, it’s really Yuu-chan!”
Her upperclassmen gather close as she folds in on herself and weeps.
“Don’t cry, Megami-chan!”
“Idiot! She just found someone important to her after thinking she was all alone! She can cry if she wants!”
“Gran, that’s a good point but the way you said it is too harsh! Ah, Megami-chan, just let it all out, okay?”
“Here, Megami-chan, borrow my hanbkerchief.”
“…’member to drink some water, or you’ll get a headache…”
“We should throw a party! Bring Megami-chan’s Yuu-chan to a Royal Sword Academy welcome!”
“D-do you think Me-Megami-chan’s Yuu-chan is o-okay there?”
“It’s okay, Megami-chan.” Neige reassures, his hand a steady presence in her upper back. “Just take deep breaths, okay?”
“Th-than-k you.” She hiccups. “B-but, Tim-Timmy-senpai, what do you mean? Wh-when you asked if Yuu-chan was, was okay there? Wh-why would Yuu-chan not be okay there?”
Under the sudden scrutiny of everyone, Timmy flushes a deep pink. “Um-I-uh-er—!!”
“Riddle-kun did collar the Prefect a few times, nya.” Che’nya adds unhelpfully.
“C-COLLAR?!” Megami wails.
“Oi, Che’nya,” Gran growls. “What do you mean by that, huh?!”
“Who knows~?” Che’nya grins, the peace sign he flashes fading as quickly as the rest of him. “See nya!”
“DON’T JUST DISAPPEAR YA JERK!!” Gran yells. “GET BACK HERE ALREADY!!”
By contrast, Megami has devolved into hugging herself while muttering, “Night Raven College collared Yuu-chan, and, and Dominic-senpai said that dire beasts are dangerous, and Timmy-senpai and Sherpie-senpai said that Night Raven College students are creepy and scary, and—!”
Neige finds his hands grabbed by his underclassman, who has a wild, deeply frightened look in her eyes. “Neige-senpai, we need to rescue Yuu-chan from Night Raven College! If, if what everybody says is true, then sh—!”
“Calm down, Megami-chan!” He urges, interlacing their fingers and squeezing gently. “I think you’re panicking a bit too much. After all, your Yuu-chan is with Vil-kun, and I know he’d never let anything bad happen to anyone working with him. Can you trust me on that?”
The force of his soft brown eyes is enough to make the young lady hesitate. “I-I trust you, but—!”
“Why don’t you go get some water and wash your face?” The second-year suggests kindly. “You’re feeling strange because you’ve had a lot dropped on you right now, but freshening up always makes me feel much better and helps me think straight.”
“Plus, we’ll be heading to Night Raven College for VDC anyway!” Dominic adds. “If Megami-chan comes along to support us, there’s no doubt you’ll see your Yuu-chan again!”
“…right.” The first year nods. “You’re right Dominic-senpai, Neige-senpai, everyone. Thank you for your kindness, I’m sorry I got so worked up—”
“It’s all right, Megami-chan.” Neige smiles gently as he helps her up and leads her to the door. “We need to get back to practicing, but do you want me to walk you to the restroom?”
“No, no!” She waves her hands, embarrassment blooming hot in her cheeks. “Thank you for your consideration, senpai, but I’ll be fine on my own. Good luck with practice!”
And with that, Karatsumori Megami flees not-quite-gracefully from the practice studio, mopping at her cheeks to try and clean herself up some.
How silly of her to get into such a state in front of her upperclassmen! She really is clueless on how to carry herself with dignity like Leota-nee-chan tells her to…but she can’t stop worrying about Yuu-chan. Che’nya-senpai is a bit of a jokester, but he didn’t sound like he was joking when he talked about Yuu-chan being collared. And all those bad things the others said about Night Raven College…even if Vil Schoenheit-san is a good person, is Yuu-chan really okay there? What if she’s being bullied by other people? Or made fun of for not having magic? What if they’re doing horrible things to her, and she needs Megami’s help to escape?! What if—?!
“Yo—I, I mean, good day, Megami-san! How are ya-you faring this fine afternoon?”
At the familiar call, Megami’s head jerks upright, and she turns to her dear friend with a grateful smile.
as a follow up to the part 1, by request of @floraljoudii ~ as if possible, even more chaotic than last time
Chenya: ?/10. He can cook well. Deliciously even. Chenya has that Floyd-like quality of being good with food, although he specifically works his way through vibes and instincts. But he actively chooses to deliver the most weird food possible when asked to cook for the dorm... just so they stop asking him and because the reactions are priceless each rare time. Otherwise, if was to do something for Trey or Riddle, he would still would do a "fun" dish but it's delicious and positively yummy.
Dominic: 7/10. He's one of the best cooks among the brothers, usually because he's the most responsible one if chances happen that Neige can't cook that day. Usually likes to take the flavors to a umami side. Dominic's only weakness is confusing the order of ingredients or preparation, which is why he's stuck with the cooking book on his hands the entire time.
Gran: 8/10. The best one of the group but he only makes soups because it's what Neige personally taught him and it doesn't seem necessary to do anything else. But Gran can turn anything into soup and it will feel like someone came into your house and cleaned everything just right, leaving absolute no mess for you to worry over.
Hop: 5/10. Can cook decently but is easily distracted by the music he listens to while doing stuff. Imagine getting into the kitchen and Hop is performing a one-man-musical of Phantom Of The Opera and there's a pot boiling or a cake burning behind him.
Snick: 6/10. Good cook but he sneezes a lot and, despite the camaraderie from dorm mates, he refuses to let the kitchen spiral into a toxic germ warzone. Bottom line is: Snick doesn't cook much. Lowkey he doesn't like to cook that much either. So, anything to get out of the kitchen is a gem of a excuse!
Shelpy: 3/10. Cooking hazard due to sudden sleepiness, still working with Neige to overcome that. Just like Snick, dislike cooking and would be much more happy if eating was just a easier activity all together. Thinks surviving solely on picked fruits, berries and herbs is better because, in a way, you don't need to cook anything.
Timmy: 7/10. Can cook just as good as Dominic and it's the third option when the formers aren't avaliable. Timmy likes sweets but is forced by society to prepare healthy meals. Compliments are good but avoid doing too much or Timmy will explode.
Toby: ?/?. Okay. Neige tries to teach him to cook (so he doesn't fall behind the others and grows up properly) but after all those years, it's rather unclear if Toby is just naturally prone to disasters or he just does things for the heck of it. Not malicious. Not stupid. Just "what happens when I do this?". Also thinks carbs are little bits of carbon and almost put a spoon in the microwave once.
If Twst do a full staff reveal, I'll make a part 3~!
