Pregnant!Yuu and Family Characters
Kifaji
Leona warned Kifaji weeks in advance about Yuu's arrival at Sunset Savana, so he was prepared for any possible scenario: cravings, hormones, a surprise birth, etc. Fortunately, that wasn't necessary, Yuu is not only a good guest, but a wonderfull lady. To be fair, Kifaji has several questions about how Yuu ended up at NRC, not just because she's a girl, but because of the blessing on the way. However, he's smart enough to ask Leona about this, and in the most subtle way possible. Let's just say Kifaji is somewhat worried about what might happen in an environment like NRC with a girl in such a vulnerable state.
Kifaji tries not to treat anyone differently, normally. But it's impossible to do that with Yuu, whether it's explaining things to her more patiently and thoroughly, or offering her arm so she can walk more easily. Leona even jokes at one point about who is this and what Yuu did to Kifaji to make him act this way (obviously all in good fun; Leona is the same with Yuu in NRC, if not more overprotective). Yuu can't participate in most of the event because the dance moves are too much for her with her pregnant belly, but she provides moral support from the sidelines and enjoys themselves when they drive through Sunset Savana. Kifaji can feel how he is growing grey hair. you have to be more carefull--CAREFULL!!
Dylla Spade
To be honest, Deuce probably forgot to mention to his mom the small detail that Yuu was pregnant, so when Yuu accidentally bumps into Dylla during the Easter event, they don't even realize who the other is. They just apologize to each other for their clumsiness and start talking as they walk through town. Dylla isn't very observant, but she recognizes that she's never seen a young woman like Yuu before, so they chat about what brings them there—school—and eventually Dylla asks a few questions about her pregnancy (how many months along she is, whether she's expecting a boy or a girl, nothing out of the ordinary).
It's only then that they introduce themselves, and they're like :0 Yuu? The same Yuu that Deuce talks about so much? Yuu is embarrassed that she hadn't noticed before. Dylla even has the same hair and eye color as Deuce, damn it! Definitely a funny moment for both of them, for different reasons, lol. Dylla doesn't treat Yuu any differently because she's pregnant, although she does give her advice on how to make the pregnancy more bearable and offers to accompany her to her gynecologist appointments when she's home during winter break. It's the support Yuu needs right now.
Georgina Leech
Similar to her children and Azul, Georgina is quite intrigued and fascinated by the entire pregnancy process, as it's not common among Merfolk, if not nonexistent. Even so, Georgina has lived and interacted on the surface long enough to know the basics of human pregnancy, such as that it's a delicate process, that it only happens to human women, and that it's not usually very pleasant (due to all the physical and hormonal changes, apparently), so one must be gentle with them. For this reason, Georgina stays close to Yuu at all times (much to Grim's horror) and, surprisingly, scolds Jade if she sees him planning to play a prank during the event (especially the one about flipping Yuu's gondola. It's not as if Jade would actually do it, nor is he that much of a jerk).
Georgina finds all of this new and interesting, so she uses lunchtime to ask Yuu all her questions about human pregnancy, which are genuine. Yuu takes the opportunity to debunk several Merfolk myths about human pregnancies (no, women don't eat babies and that's how they end up in their bellies, no, they don't come from storks or cabbages--). Riddle might even contribute some general medical knowledge about the pregnancy process, which leaves the Leech family…unusually quiet.
Marja Felmier
Marja permissively forbids Yuu from helping with any chores during the Harveston festival, whether it's something as simple as chopping vegetables or carrying baskets of apples to the cabin. No sir! The pregnant lady stays seated near the stove! Doesn't she know how bad stress can be for a baby? She generally spends her time scolding Yuu whenever she sees her up or doing any physical activity, although of course, she understands that Yuu wants to participate in the festival activities, so she allows it, ON THE CONDITION THAT EPEL AND HIS LITTLE FRIENDS TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF HER.
Marja serves everyone enormous portions of food, like all grandmothers, but she gives Yuu a MONSTROUS portion; after all, "she's eating for two" and won't let anyone help her finish (not that Yuu needs the help, honestly—everything is delicious!). Marja even takes the opportunity to give Yuu two sweaters: one with an apple tree on it, for herself, and a much smaller one with a little apple design, for the future baby. She'll make a more personalized one after the baby is born—so she'd better have a healthy baby!
