LAZILY FLIPS THE BILLS BETWEEN HIS FINGERS, leona sits across from you silent counting the cash.
when you reach into your wallet unknown to him, pull out a fifty and slide it toward him on the table...he freezes.
he eyes the bill, then you. the look in his eyes screams annoyance, his ear flicks as he asks, "what are you doing?"
he sounds unimpressed, and he listens when you say sweetly how you wanted to help bay the bill.
he chuckles, low and amused.
"who do you take me for?" he asks, taking two hundreds from the stash in his wallet and cups them over your hands with the fifty and slides it back to you.
you blink, mouth gaped open slightly but before you could ask, he cuts you off.
"buy yourself some pretty~"
𝐕𝐈𝐋 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐄𝐍𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐓 ✉︎
HE LOST COUNT WHEN SEEING YOU SLIDE THE FIFTY TOWARDS HIM. vil pauses, completely composed but there is a glint of confusion on his face.
he looks up at you and blinks once, eyes sharp and posture straight.
"my dear, what are you doing?"
you explain, in the sweetest tone, how you wanted to help him pay the bill.
he doesn't even let you finish, already sliding the bill back at you──shaking his head sternly.
"oh, nono please, put that away."
you forcefully pull the cash back towards you, blinking up at him as he finishes collecting the cash and placing it on the bill given.
"generosity is admirable, but let me treat my beloved whenever i please~ you deserve to be spoiled, and i intend on fulfilling it."
𝐀𝐙𝐔𝐋 𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐎 ✉︎
HE DOESN'T EVEN LOOK UP AT YOU, azul just flicks the bill back toward you and you slide it back.
a smile forces its way to your lips when he finally grabs the bill and twiddles it between his index and middle finger.
"my pearl, are you trying to make me laugh?"
his eyes are narrowed, posture confident and a sly smirk on his face. you say you wanted to help pay the bill, and he chuckles.
his polite laughs just sounds like money is raining before him, and he slides the bill back in your direction on the table and pays for the dinner from his card.
he'll take your hand and kiss your skin gently, eyes glaring behind his glasses as he smiles fondly.
"what a lovely gesture, my dear, but you need not worry about money as long as im with you~"
𝐈𝐃𝐈𝐀 𝐒𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐃 ✉︎
HE'S ALREADY HUNCHED OVER AT THE TABLE, hair styled to show his face, suit ironed and fitted, poking at his food unable to make eye contact with anyone other then you─he even had a hard time ordering his plate.
he's already awkward as is, so when idia sees you slide over a fifty he immediately flinched.
what are you doing? why are you handing him a fifty? do you think he's broke?
he blinks once and immediately drops his fork with a clank. "wh―what are you doing ?..." you explained softly, smiling so much he can feel it in his soul.
idia shook his head, immediately wiping out his wallet and fumbles for his cash while panic explaining, "but―but i asked you out, you can't pay ! this isn't how it was supposed to go, put that away and just let me pay... please?"
at the end of it, he ends up paying and secretly sliding a few extra hundreds in your purse when you excuse yourself to go to the bathroom―never will he let his woman pay for a meal.
𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐔𝐒 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐀 ✉︎
WHEN YOU SLIDE THE FIFTY ACROSS THE TABLE CLOTH, malleus doesn't even bat an eye. he simply watches you retract your hand and smiling sweetly up at him.
"...what gesture is this?" he asks, curious as a child, tilting his head while he already planned to pay ahead.
you say you wanted to help with the bill, and malleus smiled. he's not offended, but more amused.
"your offering?"
little do you know, malleus already has the cash ready to hand over to the waiter.
as you nod your head, malleus already took the bills from his wallet and placed it into the billfold, taking another hundred and hands it to you back with the fifty.
"don't make me laugh, my love. it's said the man pays for the woman, yes? as future king and queen of briar valley, please, take the money, you deserve all the wealth in the world~"
𝐊𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐌 𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐌 ✉︎
HE'S EXPECTING TO PAY FOR THE BILL, kalim doesn't register the fact you slide a fifty forward until he finally looks down.
he was mid-ramble, saying how good the food was―jamil having to be convinced multiple times─when he cuts himself off at the sight of your money.
he blinks, eventually understanding your intentions.
kalim gasps slightly, shakes his head and immediately pushes the cash back to you. "oh, no baby, you don't have to do that! it's my treat, don't worry!"
no matter how hard you try and say otherwise, kalim ends up paying for your meal and even sends you an extra two hundred for shopping<3
"let me treat you, okay? you deserve all the riches in the world ! besides, my mother wants you to shop at this store, she says you'll look beautiful in their clothes!"
end notes ― "but-but-but kalim won't eat anything unless cooked by jamil─" okay, if it makes ya feel better jamil was one of the cooks I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE YOU HAPPY.

You put the ring on his finger. You whispered those sweet words to him. And now you're telling him that you didn't mean any of it? That you were just practicing?
Don't be delusional.
It was clearly a mummified arm sticking out of the ground. No person could mistake that for a tree branch or some litter thrown by your kind in the deep woods. What normal person even comes this far out just to “practice” wedding vows?
Your screams and the snow crunching under your feet from your running snaps him out of his thoughts.
Oh, that's right. He was letting you get away. That wouldn't do.
Green flames erupt in front of you that make you screech even louder as you almost fall backwards. His animated corpse steps out of its embers while he’s flashing you what he considers his warmest smile. But to you it just looks like he's getting ready to eat you with his fangs bared and his grin being far too unnaturally wide.
“My love, don't run.”
His cold, gloved hands encapsulate yours before he's kneeling in front of you and leaving a kiss on your knuckles. Adoration fills what’s left of his eyes as he speaks.
“Let me propose to you as well.”
💛Leona Kingscholar💛
You're an idiot.
What kind of person goes into the woods at night making speeches to trees and then slipping a ring onto a corpse’s finger? Idiots. That's who.
You're screaming and yanking at his grip while he's yawning and holding your wrist at an arm's length. He's perched on a snow-covered boulder and looking anywhere but at you. His tail lazily swings behind him as it threatens to fall off from years of decay while his half-bitten ears twitch slightly.
“You done?”
You eventually calm down but still stare at him in horror and confusion. Your breathing becomes less rapid and you stop trying to free yourself as you watch him for any sudden movements. But he doesn’t bother moving an inch.
“Sit before you pass out.”
You let out a trembling gasp and his voice comes out more stern.
“Sit.”
You quickly plant your rear on the snow as the cold begins to seep into your skirts. You whimper when he lets go of your wrist and gets up. He slowly circles you like a lion eyeing his latest meal, while you keep your hands folded in your lap and your gaze downward. He laughs arrogantly at your demure behavior.
“You were so bold when ya were proposing to me and now you're cowering!”
You jolt as he's grabbing your wrist again and pulling you to your feet.
“You're coming with me.”
🩵Azul Ashengrotto 🩵
Azul was there to pick up the pieces when your fiancee had suddenly disappeared. You were to be wed in two days time to save you and your family from destitution, but your fiancee was nowhere to be found. It was like he had vanished into thin air and left you to face the consequences alone. To be fair, you didn't really know him since it was an arranged marriage. It didn't mean it still didn't sting, especially with the chaos that ensued afterwards.
“What are we going to do now?!”
“We’re ruined!”
Your parents had begun to fight among themselves from the stress and shame of calling off a wedding and falling into certain poverty. You sighed as you laid your head on your hand and closed your eyes. Your fingers were uselessly massaging the pressure points on your temple in an attempt to ebb away their elevating voices and the imminent pounding in your skull.
“Oh dear, is this a bad time?”
Your parents immediately cease arguing with each other and you look up to see that strange newcomer that had arrived a few days prior to your wedding even being announced. He had introduced himself as a distant relative, and although you hailed from noble barons and proud servants of monarchs, he felt sleazy. You refused to believe he was in any way related to you, especially with how eagerly he was interjecting himself into your lives. It’s like he was plotting and scheming something nefarious behind your backs.
“My, my. You’ve already announced the wedding. Are you sure you’ll be able to find a suitable bachelor in time?”
Your parents look between each other nervously. They wanted to disagree or cling onto some threads of their pride, but there was nothing they could do. Who would want to marry a woman that couldn’t even procure a meager dowry?
“Then, am I right to assume no one else has spoken of taking her hand?”
His tone of voice changes and your body shivers as you start to catch onto what he might be implying. You can feel him smirking in your direction, but you refuse to look up as you begin to sweat and turn pale.
“How fortunate for you that I always come prepared.”
Your stomach starts to churn as he bows with that perfectly-practiced smile that seems to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes.
“I can wed your daughter in his place.”
🧡Kalim Al Asim🧡
“Wow! The land of the living! I haven’t been here in so long and someone’s proposing to me?!”
He flashes you a smile but you only scream in response. He flinches back in shock at your uncalled for reaction. You don’t spare him another second as you begin to run.
“Hey! Hey!! Wait-!”
He calls after you, but no way are you going back to face an animated corpse. All you can think about are the horror stories they tell children to make them behave, and it only amplifies your fear. The forest being so dark and the tree branches smacking you only add onto the chaos.
“Hey! You’ll get hurt!”
You scream again as you start to realize how close his voice sounds.
He’s fast!
You start to pick up speed. You don’t pay attention to where you’re going or how, your single thought is of going forward.
Thud!
The world begins to spin as you start to feel weightless. Your feet fail you and you’re feeling yourself hit the floor as you land on your back.
My head kind of hurts…
“Hey! You okay?!”
You see three mirror versions of the jolly corpse hovering in your view and you realize you’re losing consciousness.
“Oh no, that tree branch hit you really hard… Don’t worry! I’m sure my friends know what to do!”
Friends? Oh no…
You try to swat him, but it’s a weak tap at best. He smiles like the sun itself as he takes your pathetic attack as a gesture for help. He lifts you into his arms and you try to fight the sleep that tries to pull you into its clutches. You fear you need to stay awake since an unknown man is carrying you, especially a dead one.
“Hiya~”
Your vision focuses onto a large green worm that had popped out of a gash in his face.
I’m losing it…
It gives you a friendly grin as it hovers in front of your face and it gets closer and closer-
You pass out.
💜Vil Schoenheit💜
Ah, I’m unseemly.
He frowns as he rises from beneath the dirt and snow. You look on in horror as he makes quick work in brushing off all the rotted debris that clings to his corpse.
“How putrid.”
And how mortifying it is that his bride had to see him in this state. He tries to keep a straight face and not let his disappointment show as he mistakes your expression for being perturbed by how disgusting he looks.
Little does he know, the only thing you can focus on is how beautiful he must have been when he was alive if he was still effortlessly glowing after death.
Why is a decaying man's skin better than mine…
The moonlight frames his facial features and perfect silhouette as you sit there with your mouth agape. You’re snapping out of your thoughts as he puts a gentle finger under your chin to press your lips together. His eyes shimmer like the snow surrounding you two while he tucks in a stray lock of hair behind your ear.
“A wonderful proposal. I suppose I should propose as well, my fair bride.”
💙Idia Shroud💙
Of course, you didn't mean it. What person could ever truly be in love with him? The only love he’s ever known was familial love followed by tortuous heartache from the pain of betrayal.
You're trembling and inching backwards on the ground, too afraid to take your eyes off of him and too afraid to make a break for it. He sighs as he watches you and wonders if he should just leave you alone and crawl back into his unmarked grave. But the ring you had slid onto his rotting finger glistened under the moonlight and fit perfectly, nor had you screamed or ran away.
It’s like we were made to be… You feel it too. Don’t you?
He died a disappointing death and now he could finally fulfill not only his wish, but his family's: to marry a bride that would give joy to his somber life. He can’t believe he’s going through with this.
“You…”
He moves unnaturally. His limbs crack and shift into place from decades of disuse as he walks towards you. You cover your face in fear and accept your impending death, but nothing happens. Curious if he’s left you alone or not, you lower your arms only to see that he's on his knees in front of you. A tender finger trails down your cheek like you’re made of the finest porcelain while your orbs fill with trepidation. His eyes finally snap to yours after what feels like forever and you're freezing up again.
“I do.”
❤️Riddle Rosehearts❤️
You've recited your vows, kneeled before him, and placed the ring onto his finger. The law declares you two are wed, are you not? You’ve accepted him by proposing to him and he’s accepted you by keeping the ring on his personage.
He glares at you, not in anger, but just to analyze you. However, you’re terrified as he stands in front of you. The shock from seeing someone rise from the dead has rendered you speechless and immobile.
He stands silently as he thinks over the rules and dictations of a wedding engagement before turning to look at you. The wedding isn't complete unless he gives you a ring as well, right?
You regain your senses and realize the danger you might be in when your eyes connect. You quickly stumble to get to your feet in the thick snow, but he's gently grabbing your hand and helping you up. He notices your confused expression and tries to fight through how nervous he is at having such a beautiful and well-mannered bride so close to him.
She’s so quiet. I shouldn’t keep her waiting.
“I accept your proposal. Now allow me to propose to you as well.”

RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS
Riddle walked toward Ramshackle with a neatly organized study guide tucked securely under his arm. He had spent the previous evening meticulously color-coding every section, writing clear explanations, and adding helpful examples — exactly as he had promised Y/N. He couldn’t allow them to fall behind, after all.
He knocked on the door with three firm, precise taps. The door creaked open, revealing a very sleepy Grim rubbing his eyes.
“Ah, good evening, Grim,” Riddle greeted politely, though his posture remained as straight as ever. “Is Y/N available at the current moment? I brought the study guide we discussed.”
“Heya Riddle… nah, they’re dead asleep right now,” Grim yawned, stretching lazily.
Riddle’s expression shifted from polite formality to mild concern. “Asleep? At this hour? They seemed fine earlier today. Did something happen?”
Grim shrugged. “They just knocked out while studying.”
Riddle sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “That sounds exactly like them. They always push themselves too hard. May I come in? I’d like to check on them myself, if that’s alright.”
“Yeah, sure… just keep it down,” Grim muttered, stepping aside. “If you wake them up and they get angry, it’s your fault, not mine.”
“Of course, I’ll be careful.” Riddle replied, stepping inside with measured grace.
The moment Riddle entered the living room, he stopped short.
Y/N was slumped over the old wooden table, arms folded awkwardly over an open textbook, neck bent at an uncomfortable angle. Ink smudges stained their hand, and their face looked pale with exhaustion. The Ramshackle ghosts hovered nearby, whispering worriedly.
Riddle’s chest tightened with genuine concern. He stood silently for a moment, then moved with quiet efficiency.
“Honestly…” he murmured under his breath. “They never listen when I tell them to take proper breaks.”
He carefully gathered the scattered books and closed the notebooks, stacking them neatly on the corner of the table. He set aside the pens and gently adjusted Y/N’s posture as best he could without lifting them — carefully supporting their head and shoulders to ease the strain on their neck. He pulled a blanket over them, tucking it securely around their shoulders.
Grim watched from the doorway, ears twitching. “You’re really going all out, huh? They’re just sleeping.”
Riddle straightened up, brushing a stray strand of hair from Y/N’s face with careful fingers. “They are pushing themselves far too hard. If they continue like this, they’ll only make themselves ill. Proper rest is essential for academic performance.”
He turned to Grim, voice firm but not unkind. “Grim, if something like this happens again, please inform me immediately instead of letting Y/N push themselves past their limit. Understood? I will not tolerate them neglecting their health.”
Grim crossed his little arms, looking slightly defensive. “Hey, I tried to tell them to take a break! But you know how stubborn they are.”
Riddle sighed. “Yes… I do. That is precisely why I am asking you to contact me next time. I will handle it.”
He gave one last lingering look at their sleeping form, his expression softening with quiet worry. Before leaving, he placed the color-coded study guide on the bedside table where they would see it first thing in the morning.
“Rest well, Y/N,” he whispered. “And please… take better care of yourself.”
With that, Riddle turned and left Ramshackle, the door closing softly behind him.
LEONA KINGSCHOLAR
Leona trudged toward Ramshackle with an irritated scowl, Y/N’s notebook clutched loosely in one hand. They had been pestering him about it for an entire week, and he was finally done with their whining. He planned to toss the notes at them and leave immediately.
When Grim cracked the door open, Leona didn’t even wait for a greeting.
“Where’s the herbivore?” he grumbled.
Grim rubbed his eyes. “Huh? Leona? What’re YOU doing here?”
“That damn herbivore wouldn’t stop bothering me about their notebook, so I’m here to give it back,” Leona said, waving the notes. “Now move.”
Grim hesitated. “Oh… Y/N’s asleep right now though.”
Leona clicked his tongue but pushed past Grim anyway, stepping inside with a heavy sigh that sounded more tired than annoyed. His emerald eyes scanned the room and immediately landed on them.
They were twisted awkwardly on the bed, half of their upper body hanging off the edge, a textbook slipping from their limp fingers. Their face was tense even in sleep, clearly exhausted.
Leona stopped for a second, staring. Then he shook his head, muttering under his breath, “They overdid it again, huh…”
Without another word, he quietly picked up the fallen books and stacked them neatly on the table. Then, with surprising gentleness for someone so rough around the edges, he slid one arm under their knees and the other behind their back, lifting them easily. He adjusted their position so they were lying properly on the bed and pulled the blanket over them, tucking it around their shoulders.
Grim watched from the doorway, secretly surprised at Leona’s gentleness. Leona flicked him hard on the forehead.
“OWH! What was that for?!”
“Be quiet, you damn furball,” Leona growled lowly. “Watch them properly and make sure they eat something when they wake up. Don’t let them skip meals again.”
Before leaving, Leona paused at the side of the bed. He reached down and gently brushed a few strands of hair away from their forehead, his touch lingering for just a moment, surprisingly tender. Then, without saying anything else, he turned and left Ramshackle, hands shoved back into his pockets, tail flicking behind him.
AZUL ASHENGROTTO Azul comes to Ramshackle to deliver a custom set of practice problems he created for Y/N after hearing they were struggling with a specific subject.
Grim opens the door and Azul greets him with his usual charismatic smile.
“Good evening Grim. I’ve prepared a tailored set of practice problems for Y/N, given their recent difficulties with that particular subject. I came to deliver it personally. Are they available at the moment?”
“Oh yeah, Y/N told me about that. But Y/N is asleep right now.”
Azul’s eyebrows rose slightly in surprise, but his polite smile returned almost instantly. “Asleep? At this hour?” He tilted his head. “May I come in? I won’t take much of their time. I’d simply like to leave these for them.”
Grim hesitated for a second, then shrugged and stepped aside. “Sure, whatever. Just don’t wake them up.”
“Thank you,” Azul said smoothly, stepping inside.
The moment he entered the living room, his steps faltered. Y/N is slumped in a chair, head resting on an open notebook, page covered in erased calculations. There are smudges of pencil on their cheek, and they looked utterly drained. Azul stood still for a long moment, his usual composed mask softening into genuine concern. The ghosts hovered nearby, whispering worriedly.
He quietly collects the papers, aligns them into neat stacks, and places them in order. He carefully removes the pencil from Y/N’s loosened fingers and sets it aside. Then, with surprising tenderness, he removed his own coat and draped it over their shoulders to keep them warm.
One of the ghosts floated closer. “They’ve been like this for hours…”
He stood there for a long moment, simply watching over them. His expression was uncharacteristically soft. Before leaving, he placed the folder of practice problems on the table where they would easily find it.
KALIM AL-ASIM Kalim comes excitedly to invite Y/N to a spontaneous late-evening snack with the Scarabia dorm.
“Huh? Oh—Kalim? What’re you doin’ here at this hour?”
“Hi Grim! I was just about to come looking for you two. Scarabia’s kitchen made way too many late-night snacks again, so I thought—why not invite you and Y/N? It’ll be fun!” “FOOD?! Real Scarabia food?! Spicy, delicious, perfectly seasoned—” he practically drools. “Count me in! Lemme grab—”
But then Grim suddenly freezes, ears twitching with annoyance.
“I can’t. Y/N’s asleep.” “Eh? Asleep already?” Kalim leans slightly to peek past the doorway. “It’s not even that late… Is everything okay? Were they tired?” “They knocked out while studyin’. One second they were writin’, next second—” he mimics a dramatic face-plant into imaginary books with his paws. “Boom. Out cold.”
Kalim’s cheerful expression softens with concern.
“Oh no… They must’ve really overworked themselves again. Can I come in? Just to check on them? I won’t wake them up, promise!” “Eh, yeah, sure… Just keep your voice down! If you wake them up and they get cranky, it’s YOUR fault, not mine.” Grim crosses his little arms. “Thank you, Grim. And don’t worry, I’ll be super quiet. I just want to make sure they’re okay.” Kalim steps inside with the softest footsteps imaginable, even the ghosts peek from behind a wall, waving politely at him. When he walks into the room and sees Y/N curled uncomfortably with books spread around them, Kalim’s entire expression melts into worry. He quietly tiptoes around them, picking up every notebook and stacking them so Y/N is not surrounded by clutter. He takes a random blanket from the couch and gently covers Y/N with it. Grim, who was watching nearby, awkwardly whispered.
“...So, uh… the food—does it, uh, keep? I mean, just in case I still wanna go later?”
Kalim, trying his best not to laugh, replies. “Of course. I’ll make sure there’s a plate set aside for you. A big one!” “Now THAT’S what I like to hear!”
Kalim smiles at Grim, then returns his gaze at Y/N once again. “….They really pushed themselves today, huh?” “Yeah. They’re hopeless without me.”
Kalim chuckled quietly, eyes warm. “You take really good care of them, Grim. I’m glad they have you.”
Grim puffed out his chest, trying (and failing) to look modest. “Obviously! I’m their great and powerful protector, after all!”
Kalim gave Grim a gentle pat on the head before taking one last look at Y/N, making sure the blanket was secure.
“Sleep well, Y/N,” he whispered. “We’ll have snacks together another night. I’ll make it extra special.”
With that, he slipped out as quietly as he had come — already planning a much bigger, much cozier late-night snack session for when you were feeling better.
VIL SCHOENHEIT Vil comes to deliver special skincare items Y/N left behind after their last visit, along with a few new ones he chose for them. “Ugh… that knock sounds fancy. Must be him.” Grim opens the door. “Oh. Yep. Vil.” “Good evening, Grim. I trust you’re keeping the place… as presentable as Ramshackle allows.” “H-hey! I’ll have you know it’s way cleaner than before! …Mostly.” he huffs. “So, uh, what brings you here? Don’t tell me the wind blew your highness off course.” “I came because Y/N left several skincare items behind during their last visit.” He lifts a neatly packed box. “I’ve brought those, along with a few additional products I selected for them. They’ll help with the dryness caused by this old building.” “Oh. Right. Well… Y/N’s asleep.” “Asleep? At this hour?” He raises an eyebrow, suspicion creeping in. “They weren’t looking this tired earlier. Did something happen?” “They just knocked out. Studying and stuff. You know how they get.” “Mm. That sounds like them.” he softly sighs. “In any case, may I come in? I’d rather not leave these products in your guardianship.” “HEY! I can take care of things! …But fine, fine. Come in. Just don’t go waking them up. They get grumpy when they’re half-asleep.” “Please. I have more self-control than that.” The moment Vil stepped inside and saw Y/N, all traces of judgment vanished from his expression.
They were slumped over the old wooden table, surrounded by open books and notes, neck bent at an awful angle, shoulders tight with exhaustion.
Vil’s gaze softened with deep concern. Without a word, he set the box down and moved to their side. He carefully cleared the books away, removed the hair tie that was pulling too tightly at the back of their head, and slowly adjusted their posture so they were no longer in such a painful position.
He then took out a hydrating balm and carefully applied it to their lips, his touch feather-light. The ghosts hovered nearby, quietly explaining how long they had been like this. Vil listened in silence, already mentally planning exactly how he would scold them tomorrow for neglecting their health. Before leaving, he brushed his fingers tenderly against their cheek, voice barely above a whisper.
“You need to take better care of yourself, spudling,” he murmured. “Beauty starts with rest. I won’t allow you to ruin that gorgeous skin of yours.”
He straightened up, gave Grim one last pointed look, and slipped out into the evening, the faint scent of his expensive cologne lingering behind him.
IDIA SHROUD Idia comes to Ramshackle because Ortho convinced him to bring over a USB of upgraded study resources Y/N asked for.
A hesitant knock… then a second, lighter one. Grim drags himself to the door. “Ugh, who’s bothering me now…?” He opens the door and deadpans. “Oh. It’s you two.” “Hello, Grim! I hope we’re not intruding. My brother has something to deliver!” Ortho chirps with usual enthusiasm.
Idia, standing half-hidden behind Ortho, hoodie up, hair dimmer than usual. “D-Don’t say it like that. It sounds like a delivery quest from a low-level NPC…” “So what’re ya here for? I don’t remember ordering anything.” “It’s for Y/N! They asked for upgraded study resources, remember? My brother compiled everything into a USB and optimized the program for their computer!”
Idia awkwardly hands over the small USB drive box. “I— uh— yeah. It’s all in there. Custom algorithms, auto-hints, difficulty scaling… basically cheat codes for studying. S-So, um… is Y/N inside?” “Oh! Yeah, they’re here but… they’re asleep. Like, totally knocked out.” “As— asleep? Right now?” Idia shifts nervously, glancing down the hall. “Uh, that’s… that’s fine. We can just leave this and go. Right? That’s good enough, right? Let’s go, Ortho-“ “Wait! But we came all the way out here. We should check on them! Y/N overworked themselves last week, so their fatigue levels might still be high.” “O-Ortho please don’t say ‘fatigue levels’ out loud like they’re a stat bar…” “They’re not sick. They’re just conked out from studying. Again.” “Then we should make sure they’re sleeping safely. Idia, you want to, right?”
Idia’s face turns pink, eyes darting everywhere. “W-Wha— I— that’s— I didn’t say that— That’s a weird assumption flag— I’m not— but—” he sighs in defeat. “…Fine. But only because you’ll bug me about it forever.” Grim opens the door wider.
“Then come in. Just don’t wake ‘em.”
Ortho floats ahead like an excited drone. Idia tiptoes like someone avoiding landmines.
He steps inside reluctantly after Grim lets them in, expecting a short visit. When he sees Y/N collapsed over their desk, asleep with a notebook stuck to their cheek, his throat tightens.
“They’re right over—” “Oh no…” “What— oh.” Idia’s hair flickers with visible stress.
Y/N is asleep at their desk — ink smudged on their hand, cheek pressed to an open notebook, head bent at an awful angle. Books surround them in messy heaps. The ghosts hover overhead, fretting silently.
Idia covering his mouth, horrified. “T-That posture is a debuff waiting to happen. That’s like +50 neck strain, +30 back pain, and guaranteed status ailment: morning regret.” steps closer despite himself. “Why do they do this…? This is like the worst way to AFK.” “They must have worked really hard. Their vitals look stable, though! That’s good.” Ortho adds with relief. “Yeah… Stable is good.” “They do this all the time. Studying until they face-plant. It’s their thing.” “That’s not a ‘thing,’ Grim-shi. That’s a self-destructive player habit.” Idia mumbles with a mix of exasperation and fondness.
Idia moves closer. He crouches, very slowly, as if approaching a rare creature.
Idia’s voice barely above a whisper. “Y/N… You’re gonna respawn with a headache if you keep this up.” “You’re not waking them, right?” “No! I’m not insane. I don’t want to trigger a jump-scare event.”
“We should make them more comfortable! Should I lift them onto the bed?” Ortho exclaims cheerfully, but quietly. Idia waves his arms in panic. “NO— no no no— absolutely not. That’s… too much. That’s like… a death flag for me.” “Then what do you wanna do?” After a moment, he carefully slides a book out from under Y/N’s arm so their head isn’t pressing into a sharp corner. “There. Micro-adjustment. Stealth buff.” “You’re really gentle with them, Nii-san.” Ortho quietly adds.
Idia blushes at Ortho’s words, then, he places the USB near Y/N’s hand. “When they wake up, tell them this updates automatically and to plug it in before they start studying again. It boosts efficiency… and keeps them from staying up all night.” “I’ll tell ‘em.” Grim nods. Ortho smiles. “Thank you for letting us in, Grim!” “Yeah yeah. You two aren’t so bad.”
Idia immediately heads for the door. “Okaygreatwe’regoingbye—” “Nii-san! Slow down! That’s rude!”
MALLEUS DRACONIA Malleus comes simply because he wished to visit Y/N, as he does often, bringing them a small trinket from Briar Valley. It was nothing extravagant — just a tiny dragon figurine that glowed faintly when touched — but he had thought of Y/N the moment he saw it and wanted to give it to them in person.
He raised his hand and knocked gently on the old wooden door. The door creaked open a moment later, revealing a sleepy Grim rubbing his eyes.
“Nyah…? Oh, it’s you, Malleus,” Grim yawned. “Y/N’s already asleep. They crashed hard after studying all day. Come back tomorrow or something.”
Malleus tilted his head, a faint smile playing on his lips. “I see. However, I would still like to see them, if only for a moment.”
Before Grim could protest, Malleus had already stepped inside with that effortless grace of his, the chill of night air following him like a cloak. Grim blinked, too tired (and slightly intimidated) to argue as the tall fae prince moved further into the dorm.
Malleus stopped in the living room.
There they were — slumped over the old wooden table, surrounded by open textbooks and scattered notes. Their head rested at an awkward angle on their arm, shoulders tense, brow furrowed even in sleep. The sight made something tighten in Malleus’s chest.
The Ramshackle ghosts hovered nearby, looking helpless.
Malleus gave them a small, understanding nod before approaching them quietly. Without hesitation, he slid one arm beneath Y/N’s knees and the other behind their back, lifting them as though they weighed nothing at all. They stirred slightly but didn’t wake, only letting out a tired sigh as he carried them to their bed.
He laid them down with utmost care, adjusting the pillows and pulling the blanket over them. His long fingers brushed a strand of hair from their face with surprising gentleness.
“Rest well, Child of Man,” he whispered.
With a soft glow of green magic, he cast a simple spell that eased the tension in their muscles and warded off any nightmares that might disturb their sleep. Then he placed the small silver dragon trinket on the pillow beside their head, where they would see it first thing in the morning.
Malleus stood there for a long moment, watching over them with a calm expression. The ancient fae prince, feared by so many, looked almost soft in the dim light.
Grim peeked into the room, ears twitching. “You’re really whipped for them, huh?”
Malleus glanced at the small monster, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “Indeed. They are very precious to me.”
He turned back to Grim, lowering his voice. “If they wake and need anything at all — no matter the hour — summon me immediately. I will come.”
Grim nodded, unusually quiet. “Yeah, yeah… I got it.”
Malleus gave one last lingering look at their sleeping form before silently disappearing.

I think this might be my first time writing for Jade (if I remember correctly) which is crazy bc he’s actually one of my favorite twst characters!! I really gotta write for him and Vil more lol! Anyway, enjoy!! <3】
Being all sappy and lovey-dovey simply isn't in Jamil's nature. In fact, he finds it kinda cringe!
Over time, Jamil's heart has softened thanks to you. Actually, he had quite a bit to thank you for. Without you, he'd still be stuck in Kalim's shadow playing the loyal servant forever, but now — all because of you — he has the chance to shed that identity that held him back from so long and truly live up to his potential.
Jamil often gets in his own head, especially when it comes to you. He's the son of servants, a practical nobody with nothing but his magic to make up for it. He frequently wonders if he deserves you, if he can one day provide the life you deserve in the future.
Everything Jamil does, he does with you in mind. It's stressful, but you're worth it. You took a chance on him, so he has to repay you somehow for all the shit he's put you through.
"Sometimes I wonder how I ever managed to live without you." The thought slips past Jamil's lips in the quiet of this night, reverberating off his walls and bouncing back at him as though he's the one being asked the question.
"I dunno, probably wouldn't even know I existed. It's not worth thinkin' about, though. Get some sleep, Jam." Your reply — slightly slurred in your half-asleep state — makes it impossible for Jamil to fall asleep after hearing it.
Jamil holds you closer that night, his mind racing as he starts at the ceiling for what feels like hours on end. A tight, twisting feeling makes it hard to breathe. Jamil can vividly imagine being stuck in his miserable, unfulfilling life if it weren't for you, but what scares him more is the thought that the only gets to hold you like this because of a complete accident.
You're not from this world. You're not meant to be here, and yet you've changed his life so much, all because of pure coincidence. It's there in the darkness of his room with you cuddled up by his side, that Jamil realizes just how lucky he is to have you.
Come morning, you find yourself constricted in Jamil's embrace. You feel like a prey animal wrapped up in a viper's grip, about to be eaten whole, but you couldn't be safer and more content here.
"Babe, I need you to let me go, I gotta pee." Your plea is met with a grumble and Jamil pulling you closer. He's usually up before dawn to help out around the Scarabia dorm, to you're awfully surprised to find him still in bed at this time.
"Stay just a little longer, please." Oh, your heart just about melts right then and there. Your sweet Jamil would rather be buried alive than beg so nicely for your affection and attention.
"I don't wanna piss in your bed, honey."
"Fine, but I want you right back here within two minutes."
Reluctantly, Jamil releases you from his hold. He starts counting down the moment you leave his bed. If you're not back in two minutes, then he's coming to get you himself. Thankfully, it doesn't take you long to use the bathroom, wash your hands, and return to your very needy boyfriend.
"What's got you all clingy this morning?" Jamil groans at the teasing tone of your voice. Still, he wraps you up in his arms and pulls you closer the moment you hit the mattress.
"I'm not clingy." You have to stifle a laugh as Jamil buried his face against the crook of your neck. He can tell you're having a grand ol' time at his expense, so he sleepily enacts his revenge by playfully biting the curve of your neck.
"Hmmm, yes you are. I'm not complaining, though. I'm guessing you wanna stay in bed all morning?" If you didn't know any better, you'd say Jamil started purring the moment your fingers started to thread through his silken hair.
"All day, preferably." The words come out muffled against your neck as Jamil continues to kiss and nose at the sensitive skin. You really have to catch him first thing in the morning more often.
"Your wish is my command."
"You're too good to me."
"Nuh uh."
"Yes huh."
"Whatever. Didn't anyone ever teach you not to argue with your partner?"
"You're the only one arguing right now. Just be quiet and let me hold you."
"Fine, fine. You're lucky I love you."
"Hmm, love you too."
Hopefully Scarabia can function properly without Jamil for the day, because not even the end of the world is gonna get him out of bed.
Jade has discovered many new and wonderful things since arriving on land, but none of them compare to you.
Love wants something Jade was never looking for when he and Floyd rose up from the deepest depths of the Coral Sea. Now that he has it, he's never letting it go. You knew what you were getting into when you agreed to be this eel's partner, so don't be surprised now that you his for life. In fact, you're already a Leech, you just don't even know it yet.
Jade is an introspective eel. Often, his mind drifts to thoughts of your future together — thoughts that are so terribly distracting, but never fail to make him giddy. It's a terrible feeling, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't addicted to it. To think, Jade would have never gotten to experience such delights if he had never left home!
"I don't know how I ever lived life without you, dear. Truly, my life has been changed for the better with you in it." Jade isn't typically so… sappy, not unless he wants something. You're used to your boyfriend's devious ways and honey-coated words, but this is definitely a step-up.
"I'm sure you'd be just fine without me, Jade. I bet you'd still be terrorizing the Coral Sea with Floyd if I weren't around. Actually, you wouldn't even know I exist if I never ended up in this world."
For once, Jade is rendered wordless. For a guy who always has a response for everything, he's surprisingly quiet after that response.
Until now, Jade had never stopped to take the time and realize just how lucky he is to have you in his life. You're right, if you never stumbled into Twisted Wonderland, he wouldn't be blessed to experience you and your love. Somehow, this thought alone shakes the calm and collected facade that Jade is known for.
You know your dear boyfriend to be subtle with his affections, almost restrictive in a way. Usually, all you get is a few teasing touches and strategicly placed kisses that leave you clingy and wanting for more. Now it's Jade who's clinging. Oh, how the tables have turned.
These days you've found yourself wrapped up in Jade's lanky embrace more often than not. His kisses are sweeter, and his harsh bites have turned into playful nibbles. He's even started cooking food for you without his mushrooms in them! Honestly, you're sure some sort of weird spell or curse has been put on Jade, but he assures you otherwise.
"I promise you I have no ill intentions, darling. Do you really think so little of me?" You've never seen an eel try to make puppy eyes, but you suppose there's a first time for everything.
"Well, forgive me for being suspicious! You're just not usually so… clingy, ya know?"
"I am simply expressing my love in a more deliberate manner, my dear. If you prefer, I can return to my usual underhanded tactics. Say the word and I shall, but I must say I quite like lavishing you with my affections."
You respond not with words, but my pulling Jade into a harsh kiss, one that he — much to your shock and awe — answers tenderly. The roles really have been reversed, and you're not sure if you like it or not.
Jade's usually all teeth and tongue, but now he kisses you with the delicacy of a butterfly. Thankfully, the uncharacteristically soft press of his lips against your own helps you to make up your mind. You can definitely get used to this side of Jade.
Maybe a clingy eel isn't so bad after all.
Vil Schoenheit is not a man who concerns himself with life's what-ifs, but that's changed since you stepped into his life.
Sweet domestic fantasies of a future with you invade Vil's mind more often than he cares to admit. He likes to imagine life with you after NRC; a simple existence where he can spoil you rotten, show you off on red carpets, fall asleep by your side, and wake up to your face each and every morning.
You've touched Vil's life in a way that's changed him for the better. No longer does he call and vie for some nebulous idea of perfection. You taught Vil that he's perfect the way he is — flaws and all, and for that he's eternally grateful.
"Do you ever think about what life might have been like if we'd never met?" Vil has asked himself this very question countless times before posing it to you, and though he doesn't like to dwell on all of life's possibilities, this is one that seems to have taken permanent residence in his mind.
"Well, you probably would have never even known I'd existed, to be honest. I guess you'd have it pretty easy since you wouldn't have to fret over me all the time." The jovial tone of your reply threatens a frown from Vil, but he quickly reminds himself of all the wrinkles that may result, so instead he presses his lips into a thin line.
That's not exactly the response Vil was looking for, but the fact that your words ring true stirs up some unidentifiable feelings within him.
What would life be like without you? Would Vil still be bitter and vain, constantly hiding his obsessive pursuit of perfection behind a veneer of poise and elegance? He can't believe he was ever that person. You changed Vil irrevocably, and now he can't imagine living without you.
Vil Schoenheit is a man that values his personal freedom, so you can't help but wonder what's up when he suddenly starts hovering. You're used to him lingering and providing you with gentle encouragement and stern, but loving advice, but this is something else entirely. You're definitely not complaining, though.
"You're the one who wanted to watch this movie, Vil, the least you could do is pay attention." Vil lets out an offended huff, but snuggles closer to you despite his irritation. Your fairest queen is practically draped across you, with his head resting on your chest and one of his legs thrown over your hips, essentially trapping you in his loving embrace.
"I've seen this film a million times, love. You're far more interesting anyway." There's an almost lovesick quality to Vil's voice, something soft and sentimental that only slips out during these rare moments. It's quite cute seeing the typically infallible Vil all sweet and lovey-dovey.
"What's up with you? You've been all clingy lately. I'm not complaining, of course, I'm just curious about what brought this on."
"Can't a man be affectionate with his partner without there being a deeper reason behind it?"
You don't even bother to stop yourself from chuckling at Vil's petulant response. He's seriously too cute for his own good; especially when he buries his face against your chest, hiding among the silken fabric of the matching pajama set he bought you. Hopefully, Vil doesn't notice the frantic beating of your heart.
"You're cute when you’re clingy." Your words lose their teasing edge as you lean down to press a kiss against the top of Vil's head. The action earns a pleased hum from him as he squeezes you closer.
"I'm not clingy, sweet potato. I'm simply a man in love, one who's realized just how lucky he is to have such a lovely partner by his side." Softly and wistfully, Vil leans onto capture your lips in a kiss. The words of love and affection might not come easily to him, but he can fully convey his devotion to you much easier this way. Neither you nor Vil will ever grow tired of exchanging your feelings through more physical means.
The movie plays on, long forgotten as you and Vil lose yourselves in your own little world. You two should have movie nights more often.
A word that becomes significantly harder to define as the summer goes on because Vil keeps discovering that you have become involved in all of his favorite memories.
w.c ~1.6k
Vil feels like he's collecting evidence against himself.
He noticed it sometime around the middle of May, though the process had clearly started much earlier.
Certain streets became yours through repetition alone. A ramen shop tucked between two office buildings became yours because you dragged him there three separate times and declared yourself emotionally attached to the owner.
A convenience store near the river became yours because the cashier had once mistaken the two of you for a married couple and you had spent the next week finding that significantly funnier than necessary.
Entire sections of the city seemed to acquire your fingerprints simply because you kept appearing in them, leaving stories behind that attached themselves to places and refused to leave afterward.
Then the problem spread.
A mural painted beneath an overpass became associated with the night you convinced him to walk nearly forty minutes out of the way to see it, only to spend the entire journey talking about raccoons.
A bookstore became associated with an argument about terrible romance novels that lasted so long the employees began shelving books around you. There was even a traffic light near his apartment that made him think of you because one evening you had become inexplicably invested in the fate of a duck attempting to cross the street.
Vil had never before discovered that another person could infiltrate geography.
Yet somehow you managed it.
The city looked different now, though the changes were difficult to explain. They lived in the strange invisible layer beneath ordinary life where memories attached themselves to locations and transformed them quietly over time.
Every route contained detours. Every neighborhood carried associations. Every familiar place seemed to contain some version of you waiting patiently inside it, tucked away inside old conversations and impulsive decisions. The entire phenomenon should have annoyed him considerably more than it did. Instead, he kept showing up.
Summer certainly didn't help matters. The season seemed determined to stretch every evening beyond its natural limits.
The air remained warm enough that nobody felt particularly obligated to go home, music drifted through open windows, restaurants spilled onto sidewalks, and people lingered in places they normally would have passed through without a second glance.
The entire city felt younger during those months, and somehow you felt younger with it. Not immature, but animated by a restless sort of energy that made ordinary plans difficult to maintain and impossible to predict.
Vil would receive a text asking whether he was busy.
The answer rarely mattered because twenty minutes later he would find himself somewhere unexpected.
One evening it was a rooftop. Another evening it was an outdoor movie screening where neither of you watched the film because the people sitting behind you kept providing dramatically more entertaining commentary. Once it was a night market three districts away that apparently contained a vendor selling fruit shaped like animals.
Moments like that accumulated quickly over the course of the summer, and an unreasonable number of them seemed to involve food in one form or another.
Vil eventually concluded that half of your personality revolved around acquiring snacks under increasingly questionable circumstances.
The theory gained considerable support one night when he arrived at a crowded street festival and found you standing beside a game stall holding three stuffed bears and a can of soda somebody had apparently given you for free.
"How long have you been here?"
You glanced up.
"Thirty minutes."
Vil looked at the bears, then the soda and then the bag of snacks hanging from your wrist.
"Explain."
"I won the first bear."
"And the others?"
"The second bear was lonely."
"That does not answer my question."
"The third bear belonged to a child."
Vil stared.
You stared back.
The festival lights reflected in your eyes. Music drifted across the crowd from somewhere farther down the street. The smell of grilled food hung in the air. Around you, people moved between stalls in shifting currents of color and noise.
"The child gave you his bear?"
"He respected my vision."
Vil laughed despite himself and the sound surprised both of you.
The evening continued in the same direction most evenings spent with you eventually took. One plan became three completely unrelated plans.
A conversation about festival food somehow transformed into an argument about whether raccoons possessed social hierarchies.
Somewhere along the way the two of you crossed half the city without either of you remembering making the decision to do so. Time behaved suspiciously around you. Hours disappeared with such efficiency that Vil occasionally wondered whether you were secretly stealing them.
By midnight the festival had begun thinning out.
By one in the morning the two of you were sitting on a stone wall overlooking the river, sharing a carton of strawberries purchased from a vendor packing up for the night.
The city shimmered across the water, reflections stretching and breaking apart whenever a boat passed through the river. Music drifted faintly from somewhere farther down the waterfront, blending with distant conversations and the occasional burst of laughter carried by the warm night air.
You handed him a strawberry in the middle of your story and Vil accepted it without interrupting you, the exchange occurring with such practiced ease that he only noticed it afterward.
At some point during the summer the two of you had developed an alarming amount of confidence in each other's habits. You already knew which foods he liked well enough to order for him.
He knew which desserts you claimed to enjoy despite abandoning them halfway through every single time.
You could identify the expression that appeared whenever he was about to start judging a stranger's outfit from fifty feet away. He could predict with near-perfect accuracy whether a conversation was about to become genuinely interesting or whether you were preparing to waste twenty minutes of his life with a theory involving raccoons, conspiracy, or both.
You tossed the leaves from another strawberry into the almost empty carton before leaning backward onto your hands and looking out across the water. The festival lights still glowed in the distance. Your bears sat beside you in a small plush council. One of them was wearing sunglasses that it previouslydid not possess.
Vil chose not to ask.
The answer would almost certainly make the situation worse.
"You know," you said eventually, "I think we've become annoying."
Vil turned.
"We?"
"Us."
You gestured vaguely between the two of you.
"We spend an unreasonable amount of time together."
"You called me yesterday."
"You answered immediately."
"You sent eleven messages."
"You replied to all of them."
A grin slowly appeared on your face that Vil distrusted on principle because that look usually meant you had reached a conclusion.
"You like me."
Vil nearly choked on a strawberry.
Across the river, lights shimmered against the water. Music continued drifting through the warm summer night. Beside him, you looked entirely too pleased with yourself.
The worst part was that you were already laughing before he had managed to answer. The confidence suggested you had reached this conclusion weeks ago and had been carrying it around purely for entertainment purposes. Given your personality, that seemed entirely plausible.
"I don't know why you're so entertained by your own nonsense."
"You didn't deny it."
"I did."
"You absolutely didn't."
"I implied it."
You looked delighted.
Vil could feel the smile threatening at the corner of his own mouth and immediately fought it on principle. The effort lasted approximately three seconds.
"There it is."
"There what is?"
"The face."
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
"The one you make when you're losing."
Vil turned toward the river.
Somewhere over the past few months you had developed the deeply irritating habit of seeing straight through him whenever it suited you.
The realization probably should have unsettled him more than it did. Instead, he found himself looking forward to those moments, storing them away alongside your messages, your stories, and the endless stream of ridiculous observations you scattered throughout his days without apparent effort.
Beside him, you nudged his shoulder with yours.
"You're thinking too hard again."
Vil glanced over and saw you smile.
The same smile that had followed him through half the summer. The same smile currently waiting for him to admit something. The same smile he had spent months pretending wasn't becoming one of his favorite sights in the world.
For once, the effort felt unnecessary.
The festival lights painted shifting colors across the river. Music drifted through the warm night air. Somewhere farther down the waterfront, a group of strangers cheered loudly at something neither of you could see.
The city felt alive. It was the sort of night that seemed determined to continue forever.
Before you could say another word, Vil reached over, caught the front of your shirt between his fingers, and pulled you toward him.
The kiss lasted only a few seconds—just long enough to steal the next sentence directly from your mouth. When he finally leaned back, your expression had gone completely blank. The silence that followed was perhaps the most satisfying silence Vil had experienced all year.
For the first time since meeting you, you seemed genuinely speechless
Then he reached into the carton, stole the last strawberry, and ate it before you recovered enough to stop him.
Your outrage arrived immediately afterward.
The summer carried on around you, bright and loud and full of music, while Vil laughed hard enough that he nearly dropped the strawberry halfway through escaping your attempted revenge.
And he found that he didn't mind that you're in every fond memory of his, because he wants you to be in every fond memory after this.
Do you accept requests for Yandere horror stories? Like, if the Yanderes (Malleus, Vil, Azul, Riddle) asked the reader if the stories from their magical world would be in ours (and as we know, they are). And when it was the reader's turn to tell the story, the reader would tell those macabre and original horror tales by the Brothers Grimm… How would they react?
This looks so fun! Although, I unfortunately will not do Riddle as I haven't read the original Alice in Wonderland book, and I really do want to read it! For now I'll just tackle the first three!
˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ SLEEPING BEAUTY.
The emerald green flames flickered brightly within the halls of Diasomnia, the common room now all but deserted. Nothing could be heard save for the sound of a sing song voice and the occasional hum, the rain lightly drowning out the rumbling sound.
Malleus had been curious for quite some time about your world, and once you even told him that in your universe, the history which he's so familiar with is no more than fiction. Tall tales to tell in the dark and to scare children into behaving well, and then later on, they became more sanitized and changed all together.
The prince could not contain his ever growing curiosity - you could not say something like that without telling him everything you knew.
So, he had you right where he wanted you, in the privacy of his dorm as his chin lay comfortably on the palm of his hand, the sound of your voice almost like a spell to him. He clung onto each word like a child, even more so when he saw the graphic nature of the stories.
In one version as you had told him, a vile king had defiled the sleeping maiden. Once she had given birth to her babies in her sleep, one of the little ones ended up suckling on the thorn straight out of the thumb, which promptly woke the princess up.
How strange...
However, his personal favorite version was the one about true love's kiss. The brave prince slays the wicked dragon and he storms towards the castle, his steed charging ahead as the prince climbs up the tower. Him and the princess get their sweet happily ever after.
This story in particular caused him to ponder.
Malleus never wanted to say it out loud, but he started to link you to the princess. The way in which you became so animated in telling these stories was so precious to him, it almost made him want to coo out loud. He was saddened by the fact that he just did not fit into the mold of this perfect, storybook prince.
It was petty of him, to feel jealous of a man who didn't even exist. Malleus continued to watch, his lips firm against one another, his eyes urging you on to keep sharing your tales with him.
Malleus Draconia was a prince in every possible way, but he had realized that he fancied keeping you locked up. He could change into the shape of a ferocious dragon, his fire matching the flames which flickered right next to you. His bottom lip twitched as he began to chew on it - the more he thought about it, the more the idea became appealing to him.
How shameful... But oh so tempting.
These tales of yours were so wonderfully dark and delightful, he made sure to share that with you. They even gave him the delightful idea of perhaps casting his own sleeping curse on you, just in case if you ever tried to...
Ah no, best not think about something so depressing. Right here, right now, Malleus had you happy and content. He would keep you and treasure you in the best way he could.
˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ SNOW WHITE.
Vil pranced around his elaborate bedroom as you sat on the bed, the satin sheets pooling underneath your body. He made sure to set the ambience by lighting some candles, the scent of vanilla and apples lingering in the air.
He did not need to say a single thing, just a mere flicker of his wrist was enough for him to give you permission to speak.
Vil had taken a keen interest in your past as of late, so he was naturally taken aback when you casually told him that your old universe had its own tales about the beautiful queen.
He simply must hear them.
And this version.... It did not bore him, to say the least.
In your version, the beautiful queen tried to murder her own child due to her own vanity. The queen demanded of her hunter to bring the liver of this beautiful princess, for the queen wished to consume it, thinking that it would make her even more ravishing.
Once that failed, the queen tried to slaughter the youth on three different occasions - the first time was to suffocate her with the girl's own corset, the second attempt was to poison her hair comb, and the third and final attempt was the most intriguing one to Vil.
The queen, disguised as an old hag, fed the young princess a poisoned apple.
Well, the aesthetic fit with his dorm. This was something he could not help but to appreciate.
Vil took the liberty of combing your own hair as you spun your tales, his eyes glued onto your soft locks, those nimble fingers of his doing wonders where most wouldn't even know was possible.
However, the story suddenly takes a sharp turn. A prince who had fallen for the beautiful princess discovers her, and he outright begs the dwarfs who were planning on burying her to at least see her face. Due to a sudden accident, the apple which was stuck in her throat is dislodged from her throat, causing the princess to awaken.
How quaint, Vil thought to himself as he made small braids in your hair. He even took the liberty of adding tiny little flowers, the colours being white and purple. He wanted you to match with his dorm, his own personal way of branding you so to speak.
And the end of the story?
Ah, once the pair was married, they tracked down the queen and made her dance in red hot iron shoes!
The mere thought of it made Vil cringe, already picturing the searing pain on the tips of his toes. Your world was so strange but even a story like this had its charms. The Pomefiore dorm head made you sit on his bed for hours and you were not allowed to move whatsoever - not until he had his fill of you and your stories.
Vil wondered if he too will get punished like this version of the queen. He was well aware of the fact of how wicked it was of him to keep you trapped like this with no possible way out.
That thought was immediately banished the moment you looked him dead in the eye, the glowing candles making you more radiant than before.
Curses.
If he has to be punished for this, then so be it. He'll gladly drop dead if it means that he never has to share you with anyone ever again.
˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ THE LITTLE MERMAID.
Sitting cross legged in the big chair, Azul gazed at you with wonder in his eyes, those glasses of his hiding just how much he was paying attention to you.
The day started out slow, mostly because the restaurant was not as busy as it typically was. Therefore, who else ought to cure his boredom than his favorite little pearl? Azul can recall how you off handedly mentioned your own version of events which he took for granted - your fiction was his reality, how could he not be intrigued?
His pride would never allow it, but he was so tempted to downright beg to hear you speak... It had been so long since you said anything to him that was of your own free volition, so perhaps him trying to reach out for the roots of your nostalgia was the best way to go.
Turns out, that plan was full proof. In no time you began to tell your story, and Azul was so fascinated by it, even if he couldn't fully wrap his head around it.
In the beginning, there was a mermaid princess who fell in love with a human man. She saved his life but the man never saw her face, causing the poor princess to fall into despair. She was helplessly in love with him, and desperate times called for desperate measures.
The princess tracked down the sea witch, pleading with her to grant her a mortal soul. Merfolk would simply vanish once they died, meanwhile humans could go above and beyond with their souls.
Azul's eyes scanned your face, his eyes noting every little detail. He was pleased to see how open you had become, even if you were just sharing a simple story. Just as when you caught him staring, Azul chuckled and raised an arm in surrender, apologizing and saying to please continue.
He was genuinely invested, even if you were more entertaining to look at.
You had now stepped into more familiar territory when you reached this part of the story - a contract was made! The princess could get the legs she needed to see the prince, but her voice would be gone forever.
Foolishly, the lovesick princess agreed to this price.
Azul could already predict the tragedy - how could the prince fall for someone like her? She may be beautiful, but even that can last for so long... Predictably, the prince ended up marrying someone else, just as Azul figured.
Azul sipped on his tea as he quickly glanced at the never ending sea which surrounded his office, taking comfort in the fact that he'd never be in such a position. Placing the cup back on the table, he once more encouraged you to keep going.
How does this tragedy end?
The sisters of the princess rose up from the sea and gave her a dagger, stating that if she killed the prince, she could be reunited with her family once more.
But alas, this naive princess could not do it. The prince was spared and she threw herself off board, thinking she'll turn into sea foam...
Azul couldn't help but to let out a cheeky pout at that. His amusement multiplied by a tenfold once you wagged a finger at him, stating that this selfless act actually gave the mermaid princess a human soul in the end.
Wasn't that just precious?
Azul wondered if this story brought you a certain kind of hope, thinking that if you fought him back hard enough that you too could also have the ending you desired.
This whole experience was something he could not help but treasure. Azul had inquired valuable intel on not just a small piece of your history, but of your psyche too.
He had no plans of taking your voice any time soon, he enjoyed hearing it too much. However, if you got too cheeky with him, perhaps something could be done... Just like in the story, he could just as easily make every single step of yours feel like you were walking on shards of glass.
Would you listen to him more then? Possibly!
But for now, Azul took notes on this story and cast them aside for potential use at a later date. As much as he enjoyed getting new ideas on how to bend your will to suit his own, actually hearing you talk was a legitimate blessing he could not skip for the life of him.
