Brice examined the rose in her hands with a lazy smile. She saw a pair of feet approaching from her peripheral, but she didn’t look up to greet them. “Beauitful, isn’t it?” she drawled, spinning the rose between her fingers. Without missing a beat, her hands were on the flower, ripping it apart. “Even in its death, it’s still so magnificent.” With a smile, she threw the rose petals towards the other person.
“It’s weird, isn’t it?” Kirk said thoughtfully, hearing someone approach but not turning to look at them, not really caring who it was. “How one day you can just wake up and everything looks different and sounds different and you feel like you’re a different person. But like you’re not acting this time. Like you’re... real, almost.” Looking over at the person, his expression held a look of amazement, and he smiled, without a hint of sarcasm. “Don't you think it's weird?”
Raffy was inside the coffee shop and he occupied the first empty table he saw. When he sat down, he noticed there were things on the other chair. He looked around and saw someone approaching him. “I’m sorry. Were you the one sitting here? I could leave and look for another table.”
