“Ah fuck, I am late.” Naruto scanned his wristwatch, running down the hill to his school. He did that every morning, honestly, wanting to train his body besides the fact the he thought it was quite cool. He was often late for school, but today wasn’t just another school day. He needed to attend his sports club and later on head home for some martial arts training. His father was quite serious about it and Naruto did enjoy fighting, but only sparring and checking his strength to compare himself to others. He wasn’t too keen on winning or hurting people. His father often told him, that Naruto should at least know how to defend himself. He had come to agree after being robbed once in middle school. Humans could be as awesome as they could be awful.

Naruto was just about to skip around the corner when he noticed a body lying on the floor. “A-Ah, hey,” he called out, running over to check if everything was okay. “Not good, not good,” he mumbled upon coming closer, eyes roaming over the white haired boy who seemed to have been beaten and pushed around. He had horrible bruises in all sorts of colours, scars and scratches. “Hey, can you hear me?” He crouched down besides the young male, checking his pulse, but he just ended up more confused. Something was just off, but Naruto didn’t have time to think about it. He needed to help him. “I can take you to school and tend to your wounds!”

Man, this boy sure as an oddball. Naruto could be the class clown, but he still wasn’t this foreign to human’s culture? Then again, he could be pretty weird himself. The male sighed, throwing an arm around the other’s shoulder, giving him a small thumbs up. “That’s fine, just fine. We can do it together! Carve two pumpkins and take them out.” He pointed over to the mountain just outside the city, lips forming a sly grin as he side eyed his new friend. “There’s this lantern festival, it’s kind of fun, y’know. People show off their coolest lanterns and then go through the woods behind our city’s temple. In the dark of course, cause it needs to be scary.”

He let go of the other, taking a step back. “So what do you think? Up to the task?”
