(Note: I use regular names for the characters eg: Grumpy as Graham and Happy as Harry)

The sound of snoring echoed through the home, signifying he finally got comfortable. The blizzard outside was still raging over the town, hail and snow relentlessly raining from the darkened sky.

The fireplace was lit up, the flickering flames warning up the sleeping man who was resting on one of the couches. He was huddled up wearing a knitted sweater made by a certain cheerful blonde man who’s home he is now resting in.

Harry couldn’t help but smile to himself seeing how peaceful the older man looked, his otherwise grouchy demeanour fading away as he slept. He knew he would appreciate the gift sweater, as Harry knew he never cared for anything luxurious and would much prefer something practical to something expensive.

Remembering, when he proudly gifted the warm clothing to him after hearing him complain about the cold, if there’s one thing everyone knew about Harry is that he hated seeing people miserable and would go to the greatest lengths to change that.

He remembered the way a rare smile flashed across his face that day “You really do know me well huh?” Graham said, ruffling the blondes hair who was beaming with pride.

And know his dear friend has visited his home, asleep on his couch wearing the same sweater he made for him a few weeks ago. It nearly brought a tear to his eye.

Harry smiled and walked into the kitchen, pulling the blinds up to see the storm still attacking. He checked the clock that rested next to the window; 7am. Seeing as it’s now morning, he went to make himself some tea before an idea hit him.

His ever-present smile growing wider as he pulled out his coffee maker. If there’s one thing everyone loves it’s being woken up to find someone has already made their favourite breakfast and drink for them in advance. So that’s exactly what he did.

A yawn broke the peaceful silence of the winter morning. Graham proceeded to rub the sleep from his tired eyes but was given up a unpleasant wake-up call as pain shot up his back. He grumbled in response silently cursing at his older age causing him problems.

“Goood morning Gray I got something for you” Harry spoke in a soft yet cheerful tone. Graham smiled, while he wouldn’t admit it he did like the pet name.

“That’s considerate of you Harry so what did you get the old man huh?”

“Oh hush now your not that old”

“Tell that to my joint problems”

Harry chuckled and revealed the breakfast he made; some coffee and beans on toast. He remembered that one offhand comment Graham made about what breakfast he liked and knew it would come in handy one day. He was very attentive.

“Wow that’s really nice of you thanks, you know you didn’t need to go through that effort for me though”

“Your welcome but why say that? it’s the least I could do and you certainly deserve it” Harry frowned

“Well I guess I’m just happy enough having you here for me smiles” Graham admitted looking up at the blonde waiting for him to process his answer.

He put his hand on his chest, blushing from the surprising compliment from him. Harry used all his self restraint to not pull him into a bear hug at that very second.

Graham laughed at his reaction until he noticed his face heating up too. Harry reached out his hand towards the older man with a beaming smile resting on his slightly rounded face. The two men sat there together holding each other’s hands both being silently thankful for the storm.
