I wouldn’t call it a “real” phobia, but it certainly is a fear that can be triggered in Liam. He doesn’t like closed spaces and being restricted, imprisoned, because a part of his life, that had a strong impact on him, had been spent into the forest, immersed in the green. Every fibre of him craves nature and its spaces, but that includes also spaces like dens, that are small—despite Liam hates closed spaces, he can bear them without panic attacks or any evident sign, other than some internal anxiety.However, when the scientists experimented on him, they used also closed spaces to lock him up, sometimes with his “brothers”, and he had been forced into a cage and fought to death. It is, then, only when closed spaces are meant to actually imprison him that they would trigger Liam, and only in that case he would have symptoms and very bad reactions, especially if they are part of a medical environment or cages.
