Drew my friends @commanderkye DND character from the campaign I DM. Their name is Jupiter and they are an Aasimar Blood Hunter Fighter.
I need to get back into the habit of posting pics like this, really helps remind me of how much progress I’ve made over the last 2 years now.
I love how much more I fill out these pages and I basically use every little bit of space I can. However, don’t want to fall into the trap of only doing tiny pieces, need to make I can do these same types of drawings on a larger scale -- I’m sure I can, I’m confident in my abilities to say that now.
Been learning Paint Tool Sai recently and it has a slightly better flow to it than Manga Studio. I always avoided it because I (stupidly) assumed it lacked a number of features and looked rather simple by comparison, it’s actually really nice.
Did a study of @an-island-of-bunnies (Skaroy) OC Garrett in their Splatoon form as a means to get better used to the program as well as do some awesome fan art because their art style is adorable and I love their characters and you should totally go to their page and give them all the love you can give.
So much drawing. Also loving some of the character designs I’m coming up with, but I need to do more full body pieces of them. Want to really make their personalities come through.
Drew some Damien LaVey from Monster Prom on paper. Something about a pencil and paper that is so comforting to me, it just feels right.
Freckle Scales, a random Monster Prom inspired character I drew up after I asked my friends for some random prompts. Prompt was “Band Kid Lizardfolk” which could not have been a more difficult thing for me to tackle, but it was fun pulling it off.
Random little thing I did today. Was thinking about one my stories and how there would probably be a lot of walking so I thought “I’ll draw a simple character walking” and this turned out really well, better than expected.
Ink lines and clothing folds need a lot more practise, but that’s to be expected since I don’t do them often. I’ve been pushing myself lately to getting out of the habit of just drawing faces looking forward and more into the habit of drawing upper bodies, hands, faces looking in different angles with different expression. Mostly doing studies, but my pace is faster than it was when I started a year ago.
I’m improving better than I think and things I think I’ll suck really bad at actually turn out better than expected. I like these turn of events.
